Cabins Thoughts on portable washer/dryer?

We sold our house today and will be moving to our BOL!!! No more mortgage!!

Currently, we have a section of a garage (300+ sq ft) partially finished. It has a bathroom, kitchenette and the rest of the space is open. Problem is, we didn't consider a hook up for a W/D (as it was only to be a weekend place).

We can just go to the laundromat, but DH want a W/D and is talking about putting a stackable in the spot where the fridge is suppose to go. I would just prefer not to do that. I wouldn't even mind getting a cheap crank washer and hang everything.

Have any of you used a portable W/D? Do they work well enough? Thoughts? Thank you!

I use a Costway twin tub that I purchased from Amazon. Have had it a year and really like it. Hang my laundry outside on clothes line to dry. For some bulky items, like winter coats, I go to laundromat. There are YouTube videos on twin tub washers. It is light enough I can pick it up, and I have strength and back issues.

I had a portable wash and dryer years ago, the washer pulled up to the sink and a hose attached to the faucet, the dryer was on a rack and the washer was stored under it, no clue if they make them like that any more, I did like it, sure beats going to the laundry mat.

I had a small clothes washing machine for our studio apartment. Bought it off walmart dot com. Worked well until we could get our own house. You attached the water hose to the bathroom faucet and put the drain hose in the bathtub.

I have one of those washer and spinner machines, works great, just slow. 1 pair of jeans or small load of clothes.
not much power draw - 250watt spin, 300 watt wash ... 110v only !
