The People have Spoken, The Lawyers will now try to overthrow...

Get ready folks. My worst fears and predictions seem headed for fruition.

Kerry-Edwards are about to launch a salvo of legal challenges and post-election campaigning that will attempt to overthrow the clearly expressed will of the people of the US. Despite clear leads in Ohio, New Mexico and Iowa none of those states have been put into Bush's column.

Preferring self aggrandizing gain to the good of the republic, The Dems are now poised to attempt to rip our constitution to shreds. :shk:

Buckle your seatbelts and get ready folks. I think we may be in for a ride to a place we have never been before as a nation.

I pray that I am wrong but fear that I am correct....

There isn't really too much they can do this time.

PentelPen Yeah, it's all GORE'S fault!! Not to mention Bill Clinton!! It's still his fault too!

Your right, I forgot about the Klinton angle, thanks for that reminder. :kk2:

Our choices between a draft dodger (Dems view of Bushie) or a Traitor (Reps view of Kerry), niether one was even close to being even fair, let alone good or great..... :shk:

Don't shoot I'm 3rd party........

What's at stake here is SO much bigger than Bush or Kerry. What the Dems are willing to do (apparently) is to destroy our election system which is a key part of our constitution and our freedoms as a people.

Our system is not perfect, but it has served this nation well. We risk EVERYTHING that we have as a people if we overturn our system. The Dems, at least, seem to have no qualms about doing this as long as personal gain is possible.

I am not a great fan of dems or repubs but I do believe our founders had wisdom in setting up our process the way they did. We would be fools to cast aside that long standing wisdom.

In the end if Kerry goes through with his threatened challenge and throws this thing into the courts (and the MEDIA!) then we ALL lose no matter which of these clowns win in the end.

Wake up thinking Americans, Kerry needs to concede for the good of the nation. Just as the much hated Nixon did in the 1960 race that he could have challenged.

Yes Kerry needs to concede for the good of the country. Do I think he will? NO. Kerry thinks of no one but himself.

I was thinking along similar lines this morning.

The Democrats were big on claiming that the Republicans and the SCOTUS were "subverting the will of the people" because Gore won the popular vote. That is one of the themes I have been hearing over and over for the last 4 years. They also railed about the Electoral College.

Now in 2004, Bush has won the popular vote by more that 4 million votes and the Electoral votes in Ohio will tip the balance.

You you think the Democrats will make the same argument?

By comparison with the last 3 elections, Bush has a SMASHING mandate, with 4 million vote lead.....

It is going to be interesting to see if the Dems wear the shoe that they tried to cram onto GW's foot 4 years ago....

When I looked a few minutes ago Bush had 51% to Kerry's 48% of the national total.

Good enough for a win and Kerry should concede, but it's hardly a mandate nor have the people spoken very loudly.

We should be able to shut off the courtroom antics with this, but the nation is still as divided as ever. A mere 2% shift would have given it just as clearly to Kerry.

First election since '88 where a candidate has gotten more than 50% of the vote. Think about it; in such a sharply divided electorate, that amounts to a stunning victory.

It's not a stunning victory so much as it is a damning indictment of all that is wrong with electoral politics in the United States today.

Woo hoo! I got 51%!

Now he gets to try to lead a nation where 49 out of every 100 voters didn't want him.

Ok ... so .... now

will kerry reveal his plan for bringing peace to Iraq, and destroying terrorists wherever they may be? Will he now work to improve our relationships with the international community?

IOW -- will the shithead do ANYTHING that he promised he would do if elected? Or was it all just practiced deceit?

Does he care about this country? Or just about himself? :dvl1:

He's already been leading a nation where, originally, most of the people didn't want him. Now, some more do want him, probably because they were essentially told that they would be killed by terrorists unless they voted for him. Hurray!!

Why would anybody care about Kerry's plans for bringing peace to Iraq and destroying the terrorists? Bush certainly doesn't care about Kerry's plans.

What could John Edwards be thinking. He gave up his seat and grabbed for the brass ring. He will probably make more money lawyering anyway, but he can't be feeling good.
