The boy looked so frail. My brother and other boys at that age had some muscle definition.
Reminds me of that first episode of Vikings where the young boy is being taught to sword fight. Maybe parents need to put their very young children in some kind of martial arts training. Easy enough to disarm someone with a knife.
And the attack on the Grandson, you have to assume it is coming with everyone you see on the street. It's always been that way. An attack may come but at least it doesn't blindside you.
Anyway, just my thoughts. Sad though for his family.

When I went thru H2H training, it was stated bluntly: if you are unarmed against somebody with a knife, you will probably be cut. If the opponent is a skilled knife-fighter, you will be cut.

Yes knives are very dangerous in the hands of a determined attacker. It takes a lot of training to be able to disarm and even then you can expect to be cut. I like the overall idea of martial arts training but the weapon also has to be respected.

NEW: 14-year-old Wyoming boy stabbed to death while protecting his girlfriend from two ski-masked teens.

Robert Dean Maher is dead after being stabbed twice in the stomach at the Eastridge Mall in Casper, WY.

According to a friend, Maher's girlfriend called him, saying two males were following her and her friend around the mall.

When he arrived, 15-year-olds Dominique Antonio Richard Harris and Jarreth Joseflee Sabastian Plunkett allegedly stabbed Maher in the stomach with a stolen knife from Target.

The thugs were apparently hunting Maher's girlfriend because of an incident that happened a few weeks prior.

Maher had allegedly called the pair "freaks."

Plunkett and Harris said that Maher must "pay" for his comment in "blood debt" which is why they stabbed him.

According to the affidavit, Maher was trying to avoid the fight at the mall and was moving backwards when the teens attacked him.

Maher was beaten and slammed to the ground and was stabbed in the stomach.

He didn't even throw a single punch

Apparently the entire altercation, including the murder of him was all captured on video at the mall

I was attacked by a guy with a knife I was able to grab a table leg that went to my chess table I was lucky. I put him in the hospital. I didn't get a single cut. He got 28 stitches in his head and a ruptured artery. How can anyone just stand by and watch this happen without doing something?

Aside from not being mentally prepared or martially trained for it, lots of jurisdictions will prosecute you for getting involved... Cheyenne and Casper have been growing more and more Blue over the years, so one would expect to see more of the "Blue Afflictions" we see elsewhere in the nation.

I watched an interview with a machete combat expert.

Lets just say, you don't want to fight a machete welding person hand-to-hand.
You will probably lose your life.

Shields should make a comeback as society becomes more uncivil.
