If it gets too expensive, People will stop buying steak / beef then the price comes down. Then people will start buying beef again.
If it were a free market and the climate cult were not in charge making rules that affect raising cattle...but that's no longer the case.

Steak at my house has been for birthdays for years. We are currently down to 4 times a year. We have one more this year and i already have those on hand. I was thinking just this morning that next year it might be burger. I simply can't continue at these prices.

We had steak as our “Sunday date night dinner” for years but I can’t anymore either. :(

Steak is hubs favorite meal. He understands but boy, is he like a sad puppy looking at the outrageous packs of steak when he goes shopping with me.
We stopped in kroger last night to get milk and more chicken. He stopped to look at the steaks again, which were on “special” in family size packs I think top sirloin? Good looking steaks, too.....Maybe they were another cut I can’t remember but the “sale price” for four of them was $53.

I really felt sorry for him, I truly did, but he just smiled sheepishly and put them back down.
I’m going to splurge on some steak, real soon, for him.

One more time. In a properly regulated society, the Lesser Classes don't eat meat. My Peasant ancestors didn't and there is no damned reason why I should. One way or another if the Cultural Left is left in charge, the majority of the citizenry will not be eating real meat.

There will be fake meat around, they are already working on it.

I'd love to see them on the butcher's table, rather than on the hoof. Preferably much cheaper than $27 a pound, too. I picked up a 5-pack of lesser steaks for about $23. Satiated my immediate cravings, but the itch for a good ribeye is comin' back!

I can get it butchered for pretty much the same price as always.

My problem is living off grid storage for that amount is prohibitive.

What I am saying is with all the restaurants that serve good cuts of beef cutting back and all the cattle on feed , where are those good cuts of beef. They have to be somewhere. I doubt if they are in hamburger.

In my AO, it's already at that point. I posted this photo in the food price increase thread as well. I stopped in at Albertson's (Southern Oregon) to grab a couple steaks for dinner and I was met with this unfortunate situation: Ribeye @ $26.99/lb!
USDA prime usually don't see that much of actual prime beef....so it is going to be high

With all the beef taxes, hay prices etc etc. We are making some hard choices next year. I have only 8 girls. How do you choose? They are my income but they are also my kids. Fu@$ those bastards
