I asked about removing the battery from FL's Toyota a few weeks ago. Mixd responses from unplugging one terminal to a battery tender.

Problem is the tender is a bit out of reach ATM, soon but not RTFN.

So, Battery is too low to crank the ar. Won't be able to reach it with the cables for a few days if the weather holds-weather is fine but loaded trailer blocking me from getting Jeep close enough for cables.

Got to thinking-back cargo area of Jeep has a cig lighter outlet with the battery symbol on it to let you know it has access to the vehicle battery for charging. I am guessing, like most of these it is a dead outlet until the key is turned on.

A keep wall and auto adapters from all kind of defunct or lost items-phone,, computers, GPS and so forth and have a number of the ones for cig lighters.

Icould trim the item plug in off giving me the lighter plug-in side and cords.

Attach a couple of spring clamps, put the battery in the back of Jeep and keep it charged when the Jeep is getting used.

The cable usually have a colored line so you know Positive from Negative so....any issues with the idea?

Pull the battery and just take it somewhere to get it charged. Most auto parts places will charge for free. Then just drive it once every couple weeks to keep everything moving. If it sits it is going to rot and be yard art and not a spare car. Are you paying the registration and car insurance on it?

Yeah, auto parts place slipped my mind. Good reminder.

I can't drive-or very little with the vision. I keep telling FL to do what you suggested but...

So I go out and idle it, run it up and down the drive to keep the tires from getting flat areas and try to maintain it as best as I can. Engine is good, tires a good, battery should be good, but...

If the battery is near dead a little wall wart adapter might not be able to charge it.
Even if you had one that had enough voltage.

When was the last time it was driven on the road for any length of time? Did you use it when the jeep had issues last time? If not then sell it. The used market is screaming right now. Save the money and saved insurance/reg payments for future repairs to your other vehicle.

Sat, I’ve gotta say that every time I read one of your posts, I expect a follow-up prayer request telling us that you’re en route to the hospital.

In this case, as in most, I have almost no idea what you’re doing. But please be careful and don’t do (try) anything stupid.

To avoid such issues I tend to ask a lot of questions before deciding how I am going to proceed. Research, Research, Research. Ask FL about my flashlight research sometimes. ;lol:
