Pork SOUP-> BACON,ONION,CUBED RED POTATO,BROCCOLI, MILK, CHEESE & CORNSTARCH

ainitfunny

Saved, to glorify God.
I fried and browned about a half of minced yellow onion with a quarter pound or so of bite sized hog jowl bacon, and two large, unpeeled, cubed, red potatoes. I added salt and pepper and enough milk to cover that and then added about 2 cups of bite sized fresh broccoli and laid 5 slices of unwrapped ( wrapped type) American cheese slices over the top and about a 3oz piece of left over sharp cheddar, broken up. I added some turmeric to deepen the yellow color, and covered the pan and cooked on low till the broccoli and potatoes were tender and then added about 4 tablespoons of cornstarch dissolved in about a half cup cold water to thicken it all.

IT WAS ABSOLUTELY SCRUMPTIOUS!!
Oh, that was SO good!

Thanks for your recipe as it sounds delicious! I have been making and freezing bone broth so will try making it by adding the broth to cover it and then add a little milk or cream after the cornstarch has cooked. I am always looking for ways to add a little turmeric to recipes for the health benefits, too.
