A dear friend sent me this link to the FDA's link to why you should not use Ivermectin for COVID treatment: https://www.fda.gov/.../why-you-should-not-use-ivermectin...
The FDA has not authorized or approved ivermectin for use in preventing or treating COVID-19 in humans or animals. Ivermectin is approved for human use to treat infections caused by some parasitic worms and head lice and skin conditions like rosacea.
Currently available data do not show ivermectin is effective against COVID-19.
Clinical trials https://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/results?cond=COVID-19&term=ivermectin&cntry=&state=&city=&dist=&Search=Search assessing ivermectin tablets for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19 in people are ongoing.
The first government clinical trial I pulled up from the FDA link is https://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04381884...
Brief Summary:
In the context of COVID-19 pandemic, a report on ivermectin suppression of SARS-CoV-2 viral replication in cell cultures has been published, and the use of this medication seems to be potentially useful for the therapy. IVM safety profile and IVM wide spectrum enables to move forward with the investigation in patients infected by SARS-CoV-2 as a proof-of-concept of its possible use in the management of patients with COVID-19, given the current pandemic situation.
YES, READ THAT AGAIN, RIGHT OFF THE GOVERNMENT WEBSITES. ALSO MORE TRIALS ARE GOING ON THAT SHOW A HUGE DECREASE IN MORBIDITY AND HOSPITALIZATION FOR SUBJECTS USING IVERMECTIN!
