Here we are going on our 8th month in row of winter weather. I don't even know to say any more, but I am tired of it. The calendar says May, but it could be October for all I know. I am ready for a change in the weather, and summer.

Well the days here (NW FL) are FINALLY 'hot' but the evenings are (to ME) freezing....I should be the color of a Kenyan by now but its been too cold (for ME)....it has been an unusual late spring for just about everybody from what I have heard.

To top it all off.....the well ran dry two days ago. So we have been living on stored water. Living gets harder without running water.....something folks take for granted. I am dying for a shower right now.

I am good at conserving water, but my wife, not so much. It can be a source of conflict.

Water should be on tomorrow hopefully. Wish us luck.

welcome to Iowa! We've been vascilating between freezes and snow and 85+F temps, not exactly conducive to gardening if you know what I mean.

Anchorage is due more snow on Friday and Saturday.

Kathy, you'd better bring your heavy winter gear on your vacation. I just drove 5hrs (NE from here) and back. Most of the trip was in snow and sleet. It's raining right now, but it smells like snow, guess I won't be having a garage sale this weekend ;-(.

48 this morning in Western Maine. Supposed to get to the mid 60's today, maybe. Dh is building a fire in the woodstove as I type. We have been up an hour or more and have decided it's just too cold and without sun today, it won't warm up much in the cabin. So, more firewood to get burned.
It was 80 this past weekend. Sigh.....

But, my beans, peas, swiss chard is all up, along with my now, 2 ft high Siberian garlic.....lol. I figured Siberian garlic would grow good up here and boy was I right. That stuff came up when their was still snow on the ground, lol.. Definitely cold weather climate garlic....

Hello Ivan, If your well went dry, then the snow should be a good thing. Right? (Melted Snow = Water) LOL

Come on Ivan, tell us what state you live in! The federal government already knows everything about you anyway.

I hope you get your water running again soon! Have a great day! :D

Gosh, what a depressing thread.......it's May and some folks have fire in the wood stove, cold temps and better yet, SNOW! We here in MO have raging tree and grass pollens not to mention high mold counts, bad weather once again (sigh) threatening the area next week, highs in the upper 80's and low 90's, and bugs and yuck!

Waaaaaa

Father in Heaven, will you PLEASE convince my dear husband to move us north of here?

3 to 6 inches today and tonight...depending where you live in Anchorage. The weather this spring is the coldest on record for 119 years...but they say we could get thundershowers in another week so warm weather is on the way. ((Our rare thunderstorms are in August, I don't think I've ever seen one in May, so still weird weather.)) On the other hand I did see a tree with some leaves opening, yahoo! Bring us some sunshine Kathy!

Sue I've got as much sunshine packed as I can squeeze between the long johns. LOL. Geez ... wouldn't you know ... lifetime trip for our 25th wedding anniversary and it is gonna snow. ROFL! I've been watching weather.com and it is supposed to warm up ... relatively speaking ... in some of the places my hubby has hinted that we are going but it looks like our float trip is going to be cancelled unless the rivers thaw out enough. Glad I re-waterproofed our hiking shoes and found wool socks on clearance. I hate cold feet. Brrrrrr.

We fly out early, early AM in the morning. Taxi is picking us up at 4 am so doubt I'll see much sleep tonight.

Well it is 39 deg and was snowing this am in Fairbanks, AK.....which actually is NOT usual for now. No spring this year with the snow lingering forever! Forecast for 2 in or more tonight into tomorrow for heaven's sake!! Was hoping the continued cold and snow might kill the early mosquito hatch but our luck it will just make them fatter and meaner! Global warming my ass!

Years ago it used to get COLD here for most of the winter. The ponds would freeze and stay that way for the winter season. I miss that kind of weather so much. Around 22 years ago we flew into Denver and drove to Estes Park. THAT was so beautiful it was hard to come back. :D

Hopefully our friend Ivan has water again and some sunshine. Ivan, watch Kamchatka Peninsula for increases in volcanic activity. Already 4 volcanoes spewing. If we get significant high elevation injections of aerosols its possible your "summer" may not happen. Food planning accordingly, then. Those Yak in your avatar look plump...
