Signal Mirrors

As I continue to assemble a pocket survival kit (a la Wiseman and Ritter)
I see these signal mirrors listed - 'StarFlash' - with a sighting hole & grid -
so I'm thinking, hey why not use one o' dem AOL CD's?

I suppose I could use a disk sander to reduce it in size,

or just buy some of those 'cd calling cards' . . .

any reason why the cd's shouldn't work?

Dont know all the technical wording but the light is more diffused with CDs.

Then, in a pinch they would work I guess.

I've been gluing mine together so they are shiny on both sides and hanging them out. Squirrels dont seem to like them. Which means I do.
