The people of Beijing, China were going about their day when out of nowhere a storm of worms began to rain from the sky.

The Chinese capitol city experienced the odd weather phenomenon earlier this week. A video showing the thousands of insects falling to the streets of China has gone viral leaving many asking if this is a sign of the end times.

According to El Heraldo, residents were recommended to leave their homes with umbrellas leaving many believing there was only going to be a light drizzle out that day. What they weren’t expecting was a “rain of worms.” The Chinese authorities have yet to give an explanation as to how the strange phenomenon took place. Several theories from the worms actually being a form of seed from flower trees in the area, to the worms being swept up in a minor tornado miles away falling back to the ground in the city.

The video showing the aftermath of the worm storm went viral with many commenting how “the end of the world is getting closer.” One comment read: “I’m not a religious person, but this is some first testament s— happening in China right now.”

A similar event took place in Edinburgh in 2011 after student reported hearing thudding during PE. Worms fell from the sky onto an artificial pitch and tennis court. The worms were scattered nearly 100 yards across the school’s field leaving teachers, students and staff baffled. “There were about 20 worms on the ground,” One school staffer claimed. “Then they just kept coming down.” “The kids were laughing but some were covering their heads and others were running for cover. They just scattered to get out of the way.”

There have been several accounts of small fish and sea life falling from the skies after getting picked up high into the sky during storms on the Pacific Ocean. They basically get lifted into the clouds of the storm and could fall at several miles from where they originated. The same explanation is considered the likely cause of the falling insects. Chinese officials are still looking into the situation in Beijing.

The worms are actually leeches, you can tell by the way they are sticking to cars and bunched up.

Waterspouts over water occassionally will pick up minnows, tadpoles, frogs, leeches, worms, watever is i nthe water and lift them in to the clouds in a "high pressure zone" which have been known to support HAIL the size of CANTELOUPES on rare occassions... after a while they move into -or become- low pressure zones and it "rains" whatever is in the clouds...

evidently this has been happening since biblical times, though rarely, since hte goat-f*ckers opted to include it in prophecies..

Humm, made up my mind, Fried Worms with BBQ sauce, Baby Ray's

Fry 'em up in an old cleaned out Dirty Moore Stew can, over a fire. Keep shaking to prevent burning.
The crunch is worth bonus points. Better than Soylent Green made from some human.

My sixth grade teacher came back from a vacation in Mexico with a tuna fish sized can of fried worms for anyone brave enough to try. All the guys tried a piece. None of the girls did. They tasted like oily dirt.

But what is weird, is that if all those things were picked up in water, usually there is a bunch of things in there all carried. So why did ALL leeches fall, with no minnows, tadpoles, etc of similar size and weight fall at the same time?
