I think that this forum should be public. It has a lot of very good info that we should share with our casual visitors. What do you think?

I agree

Open it up. There is certainly nothing secret or even controversial here. I think the more diverse the audience, the better the participation. I could always learn more.

I think you all are right - lots of useful information in here and the Christian thing to do is to help others whenever possible. This is a good way to share the vast amount of useful information on this forum. Many people don't have grandparents, or elder relatives to tell them about how things used to be done, and we are blessed with an abundance of information thanks to our posters.

Sure, open it up.

The members-only forums are that way (in most cases) for very good reasons. As long as people are staying on-topic, I see no problem with making this one public. Besides, if people want to check the main board, including back pages, for items marked [PREP], what's to stop them? Might as well make it simple.

Yes, by all means, we should share this info with everyone who cares to visit. It might even make some of the lurkers come out into the open and share what they know. To tell you the truth, I didn't even realize this was a members only forum. :shr:

Would any of the nay sayers like to explain why they feel that way?

I said no but I don't have an actual good reason. I just don't like public boards much (unless I'm not a member then I like it to be public so I can see what's going on  ). I'm less inclined to post on public boards.

I am conflicted. I guess I would prefer not to have it open, mostly because there are many other homemaking and homesteading forums on the net.

I value my privacy, and can say things here that I might not say publicly.
