You need to get more food and be prepared to produce your own when that runs out.

Think "Long Term".

I cannot go into details and if you search my past posts you will know I am not a "I know a secret and I can't tell you" kind of guy.
I am also not a "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" kind of guy - but you need to go get a lot of food.

Soon
Do not procrastinate.

I am not going to "vet" myself or defend this post or try to justify it.
I don't know the vast majority of you.
But I do care.
I am telling you this because of what I know and it is a recent "change" if you will.

I really am not trying to be "woo-woo".
I have a lot of food and I'm going to get more.

Do with this what you will.

Okay, I told you.

Honestly, I don't see how anyone can look at what's been going on lately and the threats that are out there, and not agree that it's a good idea to prep as much as possible.

Okay, I told myself I wouldn't play this game so this is my last post on this thread.

I do not operate based on feelings or emotions.
It's real.

Hey guys and gals - assess it as you will, take the action you decide to take.

Can't you give some type of justification? Maybe post in the BS. You sound pretty confident but then won't give the reason.

It is hard to know what to do. I have some food set aside and feel the urge to buy more, but I also feel that I need to prepare for loosing my job. If I lose my job I still have a mortgage to pay so I need to have money set aside to pay that. All the food won't matter if we are living out of a vehicle. Of course I can't set aside enough money for over a year's unemployment so maybe there's no point?

It can get pretty discouraging especially with a wife and three little mouths to feed (only two right now, but third is due in a couple of weeks). God has a plan and we all need to trust in that.

Appreciate the warning, will be stocking some extra but we are almost full here :) We have been really stepping up the preps lately.

He's already said we got what we're gonna get.

Take that as a "No" to the questions, folks.

If you want to factor his warning into your preps, do so, if not, not. BUT leave the begging for more and the rest of the puffery out, please.

Look, he said up front he wasn't going to give more info, so quit badgering him. It's your choice whether to believe something's going on or not.

Thank you. I have no more room for food without storing it on the main floor, and I can't do that with in-laws coming for Christmas, but I will buy more topsoil and garden stuff.
Our basement is nice and full. I just need a deadbolt to keep the nosy visitors out.

Thanks Mongo! But I don't think you have to tell any one here that, unless they're new! I guess it doesn't hurt to give us a reminder though.:wvflg:

+1000 Badgering the original poster for more information has turned more than one thread into a big mess. Let's just not go there.

Anyone who is paying attention knows that difficult times are fast approaching. Thanks for the nudge, Mongo.

To be honest is anyone so thick headed that they even need a warning such as this? All Mongo has done to to reaffirm what most of us have known already for many years. If we have not prepped then it's on our own heads as you would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to have seen this coming especially since the 'recession' of 2007. Those that I feel for are the ones that have recently become more aware as it's a monumental task for them as they have little time and many of them have little in the way of resources.

Not to flame, but with such vague warnings of IMPENDING doom, and then no supporting clues, it sounds like the "MR Mason" thread all over again. As has been already said, most on here already know what is coming, but then others come on here with supposed inside knowledge of something coming and then hold back, why bother at all then? JUST MY OPINION ONLY.

THanks also. Am in the same position, no more room, have boxes hid all over the house (no basements here in this
part of CA) and really don't want many (friends or relatives) knowing what we have as hardly anyone we know is
preparing at all, and sad as it is we can't afford to have them all coming here when the SHTF!!! Am still stocking though as I think our time to prepare is getting shorter.

Thanks Mongo. I've never thought of you as overly emotional or a hyper-doom type individual so I appreciate your "motivating" post.

If anything people, take Mongo's post as a reminder to check preps.

For some who are like me and don't have enough set aside anymore but have kept meaning to go back and top off preps... get it done. :)

Thanks for the 'spurs', Mongo.... I'll be going into town today and will pick up a few extras to replace what's be used lately.

I wish I were in a position to do that. Unfortunately, my present living arrangements preclude any meaningful level of preps. And that is very disquieting to me.

I agree with you and this is exactly what Dennis said would NOT be allowed anymore! The first thing I thought of was another Mr.Mason game.

Hansa, this thread is pretty mild all things considered. The Mr. Mason thing got WAY out of hand, and that won't be allowed again.

along the lines of getting us to think in terms of "long term",

i recommend acquiring bags of beans, seeds, nuts, and whole grains and the minimal equipment to sprout them.

this will multiply the vitamin content by about 700%.

i can't think of a bigger bang for the buck investment...

This too shall pass.
Dennis, isn't there someone local you could hook up with, maybe pay them a bit to use some storage space at their property?

NHGUNNER, you have to sort out your priorities. If you lose your house, you can find other ways to shelter your family. If you can't buy food, what are you going to eat? (I'm assuming from your handle that you are in New Hampshire -- not going to forage or grow much in the winter there!) If I was you, I'd be putting the food away! Even IF you lost your job tomorrow and stopped making mortgage payments, it would be months before you were booted out of your house, possibly years. In the meantime, you can be making other arrangements for shelter for your family. Oh, and I hope your wife plans to breast-feed the new baby? That's food security for the little one right there.

I agree but some of us with limited funds have to put away a small amount when we can. Can't we even be given a time frame? Is it get to the store now or do we have time to order some #10 cans? At least that much.

I wish I were in a position to do that. Unfortunately, my present living arrangements preclude any meaningful level of preps. And that is very disquieting to me.

Rent a storage locker, fill it with long term foods like rice and beans, canned meats, and heirloom seeds and a few gardening tools. Then if TSHTF, you can move the stuff to your car, cram it full, stuff the rest into the RV, and take off for whatever place you have scouted ahead for, like away from big city and has water (maybe a like-minded forum member who could use another hand), then you can move quickly...keep your gas tanks full...

I KNOW he probably wont reply, but IF Mongo cares, could ne please (PRETTTY PLEASE) specify if water will be an issue? Or is it just food?
Water is a major issue for me and would be impossible to obtain more in my area... closest "pond" is 1/2 mile away, and I worry about it.

Thanks!
