Pain Mgmt Sea Salt Sock

Has No Life - Lives on TB
My precious little grandson spent most of last night screaming. DD said that every time she tried to lay him down, he started to scream. Being sleep deprived (she, her husband and my dear grandson have all been battling the flu for over a week.) she didn't even think to give him some Tylenol until like 5:30 this morning.

She got him to the doctor and come to find out, he's got a really nasty ear infection now with ear drum bulging and puss behind it. Diagnosis....bilateral acute suppurative otitis media. Antibiotics are now being given.

Anyway, does anyone have any experience with Sea Salt Socks?

I thought it might be something good to have on hand to help with pain management next time until she can get in to see the doctor.

BTW...both DD and her husband have been battling this flu bug. They are now on the constant cough stage. DSIL actually went to the emergency room about 2 am on Sunday because he could not catch his breath. Last night she texted me that he has now thrown out his back from the coughing (has a bad back anyway) and can only crawl if he absolutely has to get somewhere! So everything is on her now and she's operating with about 8 hours of sleep all weekend!

If you just need something to let you heat the ear, you can fill a sock with dry rice, and heat it in the microwave. We do it all the time, and it does hold the heat very well.
