I was watching a YouTube video last night and the guy said he predicts a large earthquake very soon. I guess he was right.

Yes. Quakes and major volcanic eruptions are two of their national features, along with typhoons and tsunamis. When I was there the Philippines experienced everything but a tsunami in just one year.

There will be looting in less protected areas than that mall. I imagine that outside of the affluent areas its looting like crazy, especially if its a "rich foreigner's" home or business. I have to wonder how all the expats' homes have fared?

One of the scariest things I've ever heard in my life was we knew a woman from Tacloban Philippines who lived in the U.S. and she still had family from there. A super typhoon hit the area and she never heard from them again. They obviously succumbed to the storm, but she never found out what happened to them. Imagine that.
