A senior Russian electoral official said on Wednesday that he had witnessed no major violations in voting during the U.S. presidential elections.

Central Elections Commission Chairman Alexander Veshnyakov telephoned the Interfax news agency in Moscow to report: “I visited five polling stations in the state of California. I did not notice any violations that could affect the outcome of the elections at any of them.”

Late on Tuesday Moscow time, another Russian observer, MP Arkadiy Ostrovsky, said that the elections procedures in the U.S. lacked measures to protect them from violations, but he also did not say that he had noticed any.
