Sml Eng Riding mower, bronco, went "arrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!"

Cranked the ower and drove maybe 60 ft. Started running rough so I stopped the blades in case a belthad snapped and to listen. It started shaking violently and, as I reached to sut it down puff of whitish smoke came out left side. now it has emptied self of oil.

Wil tear it down and see at the new place. Really could use it now to haul stuff aroun d property.

The yard wagon kinda sucks to pull loaded wirh casle brick and pavers...

Sounds like it was run low on oil at some point, and now it must have thrown a rod.

A lot of oilcame out onto the blade deck only that small puff smoke checked oil couple months ago and only ran it a couple of times as the weather killed the grass where I can mow a yway.

You're probably going to have to replace the engine. Dunno what brands work...,we're still running 3, 9 hp Robin Subaru engines I got on Ebay for $300 each, shipped... 19 years ago?

But check for any other damage (shrapnel occasionally results) before looking for compatible replacement. Only then will you have the numbers to decide fix or replace ... Good luck...
