just adding an update----
on 7/15 i had a mammogram and they found a 'mass' as they like to say. a week later i went back for a detailed mammogram and a sonogram and then a biopsy.
report came back as positive for ductal carcinoma with invasive components. meaning they found cancer and it started to spread. i was scheduled to see a breast surgeon and oncologist right away to discuss treatment and surgery.
on 7/15 the tests showed a tumor around 11mm. not big and i was told i was stage one and that they were going to operate taking out a section the size of a fist and my sentinal nodes to see if the cancer had spread there yet..
surgery was set for 8/10 so i made a plan. i started increasing the cannabis hoping it would help slow or stop or shrink the tumor. i was using the whole paste vs the oil, just my preferences for getting all the CBDs and the whole plant materiel instead of throwing it away after extracting the oil---there is still good stuff in there..
paste is still a rather new product, i had ready some of the early testing showing it worked as good as the oil. the suggested cancer dose was 2.5gms a day. i was unsure of this suggested potency so i slowly increased getting up to 8-9gms a day. as i did it slowly i did not have any problems, tho it sometimes made me sleepy if i did not eat enough food prior to taking the capsules, and i found i was sleeping really good, all fibro pain disappeared and the troublesome dizzy spells i had been enduring disappeared too. cool side benefits.
so surgery day came and the tests prior to surgery, showed the tumor had shrunk from 11mm to 8mm in 3 weeks. they did not have to take out a section the size of a fist but they cut out an amount the size of a walnut. i did not know this until after surgery but was very glad--it means the cannabis was Doing Something.
fantastic--less breast tissue destruction and scars. the final pathology report said no cancer in lymphs or anywhere else, i was cancer free. the drs had no opinion on the shrinking tumor. they are not in favor of or informed of any alternative treatments but i had told both the surgeon and oncologist i was taking cannabis to help. all they said was to stop taking it prior to surgery which i did but when i got home i started up the same dose again and found i did not really need the pain pills anymore. another nice benefit. 2 days after surgery i stopped all pain pills and just took some cannabis capsules 4 times a day.
im thinking it took me maybe 2 weeks to slowly increase the cannabis capsules to get up to the 8gms, and about one week of taking that dose before i had to stop for surgery.
i am convinced the cannabis shrunk my tumor and if i had more time would have done more work. can i prove it scientifically? no. i am also using a pure cannabis /coconut oil salve on the incisions for healing and to help with the pain. it is actually quite soothing and does seem to reduce the pain awhile..
their plan is for me to take a series of radiation treatments for 3 weeks, assess where i am and take more or take some pills for 5 years.
my friend pete, 58, just died of cancer. he did all the doctors told him to do, took all the chemo and rounds of radiation. he went from his diagnosis in feb of one tumor on his kidney to 50 tumors oct 14 at the time of his death. in my opinion the chemo and radiation killed him.
i had offered him some cannabis oil to use in the beginning but he declined, saying he feared if his drs found out or insurance he would lose his coverage. (not legal where he lived) he made his decision. i got mad at him for not trying but i had to respect his decision. now he is dead and i miss him.
i am extremely happy to hear the cancer has not spread in my body, that the surgery was successful with good margins and i will continue to take the cannabis. i have decided to not take the radiation or drugs they offer.. my goal is to not end up like pete. i will deal with this my way.
i hope this helps someone do some research on their own about cannabis and cancer or other things cannabis helps with and then tries it. i feel that i am lucky in that it is legal for me to grow up to 6 plants so i dont have to try to buy and can make my own medicine.
