I seriously wonder where all that money would come from. Would Cali have to sell bonds to raise that amount?
Who would benefit the most from that kind of give away?
I once heard that 70% of Lottery winners are broke in 5 years. What would happen if people are given a large sum of money all at once that they have never had before and have no idea how to save and prosper with? The answer to who would benefit the most is manufacturers(and sellers) of Mercedes Benz's, Cadillac's, anything that says Gucci of Tiffany's on it, expensive frivolous vacations and the like.
The better choice would be to buy land and just sit on it for 20 years but there's nothing sexy of hedonistic in doing that.
It's all just a theory right now, but if this gets passed then every sensible person living in California should leave for their own financial sake.

Not to worry. I'm sure they will beg Uncle Sugar to bail them out or foot the bill for that one. Before that's done the surrounding states need to build a wall around Cali to try to contain the mess that happens after that. There should also be a moratorium on allowing any California businesses to move out of state, they gotta pay their fair share of those ballooning corporate taxes after all. I wonder how much a loaf of bread goes for after all that is put in place? Can you imagine the flood at the local hospital once all those drug overdoses start piling up?

I thought that was taken care of with "voluntary reparations" paid by casino customers... uh... guests... er... suckers.
When the big push came for public support, I remember hearing that tribes might get together and share revenues with tribes who weren't so fortunate as to have locations with enough traffic to make profitability something on which they could rely.
Hell, there was even some Hollywood-type doing TV spots that as much as insisted that Indians would never be able to take care of themselves. The inference was that no amount of education or initiative would help.

Yes, ma'am, I do realize that. Do you realize that my wife is one-quarter Blackfeet but ain't involved with any tribal group? As she says, she ain't no mo-fo-ing BIA Indian. We have tons of tribal members around here who go to work and take care of themselves and families. Tons more collect every penny the tribes' will send 'em and complain there ain't more.
