Looked at Subaru 2 days ago!!
Subaru is having 1.9% for 60 months on new 2004 cars. The commercials were for the Outback, but actually it's for any of the cars. I am honestly thinking about getting one of their Foresters. They are running about $25K though and that's a little bit too high for my taste. My car has a lot of problems and I would be happy to get enough to pay it off (about $4,000.00). If they can get my payments down to $400.00, I might go for it. I would definatly take care of it better than my current car. Plus, I would watch the miles. I have 91K on my current car and a whole year to pay on it. However, I did get a good deal on it (2000 Grand Am). The 1.9% is said to end Feb. 2nd, but the sales person said he has a feeling they will continue it due to the weather and so many people coming in asking about AWD. Plus, the Forester has NOAA weather alert radio..which is nice. If I thought I could get a year of no car payments out of my Grand Am...I would keep it, but the way it's going I have a feeling I will selling it the moment I pay it off March of 2005.

As far as good winter cars, I've never found anything better than a Subaru. Their "all wheel drive" is fantastic, although I agree that I HATE ABS brakes. My little Impreza is only front wheel drive, but instead of only ONE wheel being a drive wheel (like most American cars) both will drive, and the car automatically gives power to the one with the better traction.
