Of course she fathoms it, but will steadfastly avoid reporting it. Certain versions of truth are simply so unpalatable to the left that they are ignored or covered up. This is nothing new and has been official policy in newsrooms across the country for decades.
The thinking was - and is - that journalists and publishers "can't" publish photographs of perpetrators because so many of them are Black that showing their faces would further racism. Of course this is wrong on many levels, but I'll address just two of them that I find most pernicious.
The most egregious aspect of it is that it's yet another example of modern journalists bending reality and taking upon themselves the role of filtering content. They are your betters you see, so you, the great unwashed, absolutely need them to adjust your morality, propriety and sense of reality. Why, any early-twenties twit whose gone deeply in debt to spend years at university hearing leftist professors and adjuncts drone on endlessly about about a myriad of leftist topics, gets that journalism or sociology degree and is instantly qualified to judge you. Yes
you Mr. and Mrs. middle America, with your bourgeois and reactionary sensibilities. You absolutely need young - and not so young - liberals in newsrooms across the country to teach you the error of your ways.
The other egregious aspect of the policy - and yes, it IS policy - of not showing photographs or video footage of Black perpetrators/criminals because "it will further racism," is that it wholly ignores the fact that Blacks are disproportionately involved in criminal activity and
that is what "furthers racism."
In matters regarding race, there is only one accepted storyline that journalists must adhere to and 90% of journalists are too cowardly to deviate from it. Most of them try to convince themselves that they're civil rights heroes to cover up the fact that they're terrified of rocking the boat and becoming labelled, however slightly - as - GASP - racists.
Journalism in the United States long ago ceased to have any relationship with the truth and, for the most part, has merely become a vehicle for purveying the leftist narrative.
