The Levy that McLean wrote about was a bar one town over from where I grew up. The name had changed but we used to go there sometimes just because it used to be the Levy from the song. This was in the late 90’s/early 2000’s when I was in my early 20’s. Now that I think about it, I was there on September 10th 2001 watching the Giants Monday Night Football game. The last night before so many things changed. You brought back a lot of memories with this reference.
Well, I was far to young to even (legally) get into that Levy, too.

Pop music today is utter garbage. I work with a bunch of millenials-the stuff they listen to is repetitious, all autotune, and "singing" in their music is sung by a person that couldn't carry a tune in a bucket........
Pass.

I listen to literally all kinds of music. Rap today is sh*t-there were some early rap groups that had some talent but I guess talent disappeared in that genre around 1990. All forms of music these days is nothing more than toxic bubblegum for the mind.

I'm a child of the late 70's early 80's. A lot of people write off that era, but new wave and punk and very early industrial music was good. Different, but very good. It wasn't over produced, sold like "pop starts as a musical must have adornment" and it brought the thrill and excitememt of new technology to the musical world as well.

Decades ago, I noticed all the great compositions moved to sound tracks and/or new age, and away from popular genre.

Personally, I've always enjoyed classical, jazz, new age, and movie soundtracks. Also some sixties popular music.

I'm going to see Sabaton live with Judas Priest in May! Love those guys; they always bring the energy.
Ah..The Priest! Enjoy. I was lucky enough to see them on the Operation Rock n Roll show when they were touring for their Painkiller album. The classic lineup.

5 bands. Metal Church (sucked), Dangerous Toys (better). Then Motorhead! Then Alice Copper! Then JP! They co-headlined. Full sets from both. Very LOUD!!

I guess I don't have to wonder why all these years later, I'm constantly saying What? to people all the time.
Oh well. I still love it loud. Two settings... off and 10!

If it's too loud, you're too old
