the Rodenator, https://www.rodenator.com/ and it is fun to use.

If you have a lot the Rodenator could be the answer, or see if you can find some one who owns one, in your area,

check with the extension agent of your county and see if there is an approved poison bate one can use,

My house is on the golf course - back yard is the driving range. Remember the movie "Caddy Shack"? Yea, thats me.
It took me a while to figure out what they were - mole of gopher. Which is important because their behavior and food source is different.
I use "Cinch Traps". Every time one makes a mound, i knock it down and put a trap in the hole. Usually, get one on a fresh mound in about half hour.
I toss the body into the bushes for the varmints to eat so they acquire a taste for gopher.
I don't expect I will ever get rid of them - I live at the golf course, they live at the golf course.
Elimination is probably an unrealistic goal. However, I have been at this for two years - trap a couple in spring and a couple in fall - and this year I have not had a single mound

Just bought 2 of those traps, got one gopher yesterday. I've used Vivtor Black Box and Victor Black Hole, but they're just so hard to get set exactly right.
And these gophers are in my GARDEN so I can't dig up huge holes trying to find tunnels - might just as well let the gophers ruin the plants - the cinch trap fits in much smaller space so I don't have to tear up garden.
Hopefully, I will get them all soon. Sigh

When I was a kid my Dad used to have a hose that fit on the tail pipe of the truck. We'd stick that down the hole and gas them.

What's a pocket gopher?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gopher
Pocket gophers, commonly referred to as gophers, are burrowing rodents of the family Geomyidae.[2] About 35 species of gophers live in Central and North America.[3] They are commonly known for their extensive tunneling activities. Gophers are endemic to North and Central America.

The name "pocket gopher" on its own may be used to refer to any of a number of genera within the family. These are the "true" gophers, but several ground squirrels in the distantly related family Sciuridae are often called gophers, as well. The origin of the word "gopher" is uncertain. French gaufre, meaning waffle, has been suggested, on account of the gopher's tunnels resembling the honeycomb-like pattern of holes in a waffle.[4] Another suggestion is that the word is of Muskogean origin.[5]

We took the weed burner, stuck the hose down the hole and filled them with propane. Let it run for about 15-20 minutes (we have a huge garden and many gophers) I've been battling them for years and I've tried EVERYTHING! This is the only thing that has worked, and they are ALL gone now. :D Every single one has been gone for 3 months now. We had to do it twice, I think because there were 2 separate runs. We may have to do it again next year, because I fully expect more to move in at some point. But we have not had one singe gopher mound since then.

I used to have a mole problem...until I learned that insecticide kills their food...Grubs. I don't know if this would work on gophers though.

I used my car to do that when I was overrun with chipmunks. I had a big tree cut down years before and they were living down in the old root system. That was the end of that problem.

Well, at least I've found an easy way to locate the tunnels - without digging up and ruining as many plants as the gopher would - move about 15 inches from mound and slowly walk around it. When you fall in, you've found the tunnel :)

Been gopher free for 2 days - wheeee - just need to make it another few weeks til harvest. :(

I like the cinch trap best - easy to set and use, and doesn't need a huge hole.
That video of a gopher in a jug - yeah, that's a striped gopher - Heck, I'd throw the jug a mile if I caught one that way. LOL
