"Former Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein responded to the end of the presidential campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) by telling her followers to exit the Democratic Party, and many Democrats were incensed at the suggestion.



"Bernie Sanders ran a good race. Now it's clearer than ever: establishment Dems' top priority is sabotaging progressives to maintain their own power," Stein tweeted on Wednesday.

"@GreenPartyUS welcomes all who understand that the fight for people, planet & peace must continue," she added, with the hashtag "DemExit."
Stein supported the Sanders campaign, but many Democrats blame her and her supporters for the stunning loss of Hillary Clinton to then-candidate Donald Trump in the 2016 election.

The furious online response

Many on the left took to Twitter to excoriate her for throwing her support away from the establishment candidate, Joe Biden, after Sanders exited the race.
"You need to be airdropped straight into Moscow. And stay the hell there. Freaking traitor," tweeted feminist Ellen Hopkins.



"Didn't you sabotage the last election allowing Trump to win? Hard to take this comment seriously," responded blogger Tom Coates.

"When the @DrJillStein idiots were willing to lose two Supreme Court seats to Mitch McConnell that's when I knew they were full of s**t and had no intention of overturning Citizens United or anything else. They just wanted to blow things up," replied film blogger Sasha Stone.

"INTO THE SUN may she f**k right off," tweeted author Cherie Priest.

"Jill Stein felt all kinds of wrong, like she was a pawn or something even more nefarious," responded author Raquel Cepeda.

"Jill Stein threatening DemExit is like Tanya Harding threatening to quit figure skating," said one user.

OK the "Bernie" aspect aside (and he has his issues which have already been hashed out here a billion times), I have NEVER in my adult life seen such an obvious mad, disgusting, under-handed, raw and public power grab and use of an individual in failing health as I did just before Super Tuesday.

It was so obviously a "Hail Mary" pass to get "anyone but Bernie" that it turned my stomach and it became worse when I realized just how ill Biden almost certainly is.

In the long run, I suspect the US will end up with either a viable third party or more likely one that replaces one of the main parties (lots of folks have predicted this - that isn't my idea).

Sometimes it looks like the Republicans will implode and other times (like now) it is the Democrats rising to the heights of mind-boggling levels of obvious levels of "in-your-face" attempts to manipulate the electorate.

The Republican elite knew what George Jr. was when they pushed him forward (there's a great interview with a famous economist who got a call along the lines of "we'd like you to advise the new President as he is just too stupid to understand economics" and the Democratic Committee knows exactly what they are doing to Biden.

This may take a few years yet but it will not end well for someone(s).

This is a poll ostensibly taken at The Young Turks, you know, that website everyone watches every so often for Election Night Meltdown videos? I found it at Dame Pesos' YouTube channel, where a great deal of fun is had skewering said Turks, so take it with a grain of salt.

Apparently, they asked their viewers who they'd be voting for now that Bernie's out of the running.

The results are noteworthy.

Apparently, this was too much for the Young Turks to handle without browning their collective trousers, so they scrubbed this poll and then set up another one. With the same question. And mostly the same results. This one even has a link, lending credence to the last one!

Well, for starters, it shows your math is off. Easily a dozen of those "15 other viable candidates" were one or more of clinically insane, stupid f***ers, crooks to the point they'd be shunned in NO/NJ/NYC, and/or to the left of Mao.

My guess is they know they are going to lose to Trump anyways, so the plan is to throw Biden out there for two reasons. One is to keep him from being investigated for his corruption during Obama’s time, they have constantly been harping on about it and tried to have Trump impeached over the Ukraine mess. Two is show everyone how far gone he is so that after the election they hope it will be forgiven since you can’t really prosecute a dementia patient. Just my 2 cents.

Agree. Lots of powerful people tangled up in those crimes, and above all else, they don't want it exposed.
I think they feared what Bearnie might do.

This is the question I've been pondering as well. I have two lines of thought:

1) TPTB didn't want any of the Dim candidates. They were simply too loony to have a chance against Trump. So, they kill off everyone but Pedo Joe. At the last minute Joe steps aside and TPTB insert their choice to run against Trump.

OR

2) Regardless of the BS "polls" showing Joe Leading Trump they know they can't win. Therefore they back Joe so they can save face when Joe loses.

I really don't consider saving Joe from prosecution due to his lack of mental competence as a reason. As a Dim he is untouchable. Even if he skates (which,as a Dim, I have no doubt he will) it still doesn't / shouldn't save sonny boy from his peccadilloes. But being "Son of Dim" I'm sure he will be indemnified from any legal action. Not for a minute do I think either will ever face any kind of investigation.
