Dear Senator Levin,

I am the mother of a US Army Infantry soldier serving in Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne. I want you to read the following from a television documentary from last week:

2,000 FREAKING MILES OF WIDE OPEN SPACE THAT OUR MEAGER BORDER PATROLS ARE ATTEMPTING TO CONTROL!! THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS.

I want this administration and this Congress to tell me WHY THE HELL my son is in Afghanistan on a mission of 'ambassadorship to win the hearts and minds of Afghanis to keep terrorism from coming here' WHEN OUR FREAKING BORDER IS WIDE OPEN TO TERRORISTS!!!!

If Congress and this Administration wants open borders THEN BRING OUR TROOPS HOME! TELL ME HOW THIS CAN BE!?? TELL ME HOW THIS IS NOT THE ULTIMATE HYPOCRICY! My son is now in FOB Wilson in Afghanistan. He and his fellow troops from the 101st Airborne are sustaining heavy fire and their lives are on the line – but the REAL threat to our security IS RIGHT HERE AT HOME BECAUSE OF YOU AND THE REST OF THIS GOVERNMENT REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE FLOW OF ILLEGALS AND TERRORISTS ACROSS OUR BORDER.

Meanwhile, our illustrious Department of Homeland Security claims that ‘domestic’ terrorists and ‘tea party ‘people are the threats to our security. And while they run that line of crap, this administration continues to tell us that ‘we need to be in Afghanistan winning the hearts and minds of Afghanis to ensure our security’ and that Arizona’s new law is ‘unfair and unjust’ to illegals. EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THAT IS FAIR TO THE LIFE OF MY SON! ILLEGAL’S RIGHTS AND LIVES ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN MY SON’S??!!!

As my Senator, and as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I DEMAND that you actually RESPOND to my letter. I do NOT want some form letter spouting party-line and White House rhetoric. WHAT IF THIS WAS YOUR CHILD NOBLY SERVING HIS COUNTRY WHILE HIS OWN COUNTRY STABS HIM IN THE BACK, THREATENS THE LIVES OF HIS LOVED-ONES AT HOME, AND PURPOSEFULLY UNDERMINES THE REAL SECURITY OF OUR NATION??!!
