So years ago I picked up an old Waterford Stanley Mourne wood cookstove. Has just sat in the back of the garage buried under other projects. Decided last night that it will be my new winter project. Little beat but almost everything is in decent shape. Finally ordered new fire grate for it from Ireland this morning. Shipping was almost as much as the part. It needs to be rebricked but I am just going to do that with generic firebricks vs buying the bricking from Ireland. We dont really need it but I would like to have a second cookstove avail and they are neat stoves. Maybe install it in the shop to heat out there.

Sounds like a great winter project. can we get sum pix when you get it uncovered? if you’re so inclined a before and after thread would be interesting - complete with pix of the progress you’re making

Good on ya mate, the Stanley 8 was a great range, is it flat base or on legs they did both.

Cool, I prefer the flat base, although in a nice log cabin the legged model qould look great.
Does it have the back boiler, the different boilers available will heat 4, 6 or 8 radiators
No boiler just a straight up cookstove.
