The Tiahrt Amendment protects law abiding citizens from the type of unconstitutional rogue government official such as was perpetrated by Obama supporters against Joe Wurzelbacher during this election. This amendment restricts authorities from disclosing federal gun trace information except to law enforcement agencies conducting lawful invastigations. Why do gun banners like Obama want to take away this protection from government oppression? Releasing this confidential information to people like the one that snooped on Joe the Plumber allows the gun banners to more easily harrass firearms manufacturers with baseless law suits. Obama and His supporters have already proven they will break the law to get at our confidential data. This is just one more step.
The so-called "gun show loophole" is fiction. What Comrade President-Elect wishes to do, at the behest of His gun grabber elitist supporters, is prohibit YOU, the average law abiding citizen, from conducting legitimate private gun transactions with your law abiding neighbors. Federal law already requires firearms dealers to conduct background checks on all sales no matter where they occur, gun shows and elsewhere. Obama knows this and perpetuates the lie about the fictional "loop hole."
The appeal to making firearms "child proof" is another attempt to make firearms too expensive to obtain and thereby enact a de facto gun ban on law abiding citizens. The number of children in America and the amount of firearms in the populace have risen dramatically since 1975, but the number of accidental firearm related deaths among children has fallen 86%. The odds of a child being killed in a firearms related accident in one in a million. (1)
The next fictional item is the so-called "Assault Weapons Ban." All this ban did was to prohibit citizens from attaining and manufacturers from making or importing scary looking guns. This ban, which was enacted in 1994 and expired in 2004, banned weapons from having combinations of features such as flash suppressors and pistol grips. Comrade Obama states that these weapons belong on the battlefield. He is lying. These weapons are semi-automatic which means that for every round fired, the trigger must be depressed once. Our fighting forces go to war with fully automatic weapons. They do not use the firearms that would be banned under the dishonest legislation Obama proposes to re-enact.
In fact, since the Scary Looking Gun Ban expired in 2004, the murder rates have been the lowest since the 1960's. Again, the only reason Comrade Obama wants to resurrect this failed legislation is to remove weapons from the hands of honest citizens. He doesn't care why Americans would need or want firearms, He doesn't care that the Second Amedment states that our RIGHT is to keep and bear arms... Obama only cares that his Statist ambitions are mitigated by such rights and so seeks to dilute and ultimately remove them.
When Obama stated that he supported Second Amendment rights -- HE LIED.
Is it too early to start an IMPEACH OBAMA movement?
To all those Obama voters that said "Obama isn't against the 2nd" or "Obama won't try to bring back the AWB". thanks a whole hell of a lot.
