A high school soccer game at a public field in East Harlem was canceled after a group of migrants refused to leave the pitch so the kids could play.

“I directly asked them to leave and some of them kind of took it into consideration, but then four or five of them said, ‘You know what, f–k it, we don’t have to leave, we can do whatever we want,'” said Erik Johansson, the coach of the Manhattan Kickers 17-year-old boys travel team.

About 40 boys from both teams showed up on Sunday, April 14 at Thomas Jefferson Park for the 5 p.m. match.

The Kickers were set to face off against FA Euro New York.

Travel teams in the city struggle to find available field space, according to parents and coaches.Helayne Seidman
But a group of about 30 men who appeared to be African migrants and spoke little English, wouldn’t leave — even when the cops showed up.

To resolve the conflict, the cops asked to see a copy of the club team’s city permit.

“When you show up with two teams in uniform, a ref and two coaches, usually nobody is asking to see your permit,” said Johansson.

By the time Johansson’s assistant was able to forward a copy of the Kickers’ permit, the game had been delayed 30 minutes and the teams didn’t feel safe.

“Even when the game is over, you don’t know if they’re waiting for you, so even if the cops kicked them out, it may not be over. So we just all agreed, this is too dangerous,” Johansson said.

In his home country of Sweden — which saw a massive influx of migrants in recent years — the clashes on the pitch were all too common.

“I have seen this before, I know how bad it can get,” he said.

Parents told him they were rattled by the incident, and don’t want to play at the field anymore. Johansson said they don’t plan to return.

At other fields, like in East River Park, they don’t have these issues — but field space in the city is limited and they take what they can get.

“It’s so frustrating that the guys who refused to follow the rules won,” Maud Maron, a SoHo mom whose son plays on the team, told The Post. “That’s the message the kids got.”

She said it is a sign of the Big Apple becoming “lawless.”

The East Harlem field is packed with teams competing with adults for weekend time on the turf, parkgoers said. Randall’s Island, which sits on the other side of the Harlem River, was converted into shelter space for 2,000 migrants last year at the expense of the popular youth soccer fields.

Start building that wall now they are going to need it in the future, and put Snake on speed dial.
I want to make sure I understand what you just said. Turn Manhattan island into a prison. I like this idea. Make sure the bidens plane crashes inside. I like this too. What exactly do you plan on doing with snake.. cause i sure as hell don't want him bringing biden back out!:shkr:

NY'ers are going to continue to have their city, their work life, nightlife, arts and tourism dollars taken away until they stand up and start fighting back. Until people start makin' some noise the corrupt politicians will continue to get their cut.

The police in the use of compulsion to maintain the "rules" - would not be supported by the pols.

They would quickly find themselves in suspension, or worse for taking the initiative here.

The leftist pols are still running under the assumption of "need" of humanity generally goes before anything else.

Including citizen taxpayer demands, maintenance of a physically conditioned citizenry, or even doing "what's in the best interest of society."

As in - there are no standards anymore to guide society, and nobody to compel adherence.

As in - you're on your own. (notice proper use of you're and your.)

Maybe I missed it despite reading the article twice, but what were the migrants doing on the field to begin with?

Still doesn't explain what they were doing there. They weren't camped out or playing - apparently. So just taking space, hanging and and being jack-asses? The article does not state that that particular field was converted to shelter space. Still poor reporting.

Oh, them, specifically. Yeah, I'd say being Jackasses probably covers it... might have turned uglier if the cops didn't get there. I'm amazed at the size of the chips these "desperate migrants" carry around on their shoulders. It won't even take them one generation to start screaming racism as their boys grow up to be hoodlums.

Just wait. This sort of thing will be out-of-control this summer.
The "migrants" (from anywhere) are not like the immigrants of old. They are not coming here to seek a better life, assimilate and become "Americans" or contribute to society. They feel "entitled" and emboldened because of the policies of the liberals. They are not polite, courteous or considerate.

It's barely spring here and the freakin' Hispanics who rent across the street are already blasting mariachi and rap through a karaoke machine on the front porch. Soon it will be time to pull out my guitar amp and CD player. Gotta find what I did with those Captain Beefheart mp3s...

1992. We had a siren speaker bullhorn-looking thing in our attic ventilation window and a turntable for LP. Everytime any music rattled our dishes in the cabinets, we assaulted the hood with bagpipes.

It took three repetitions to stop the behavior.

I'll use Captain Beefheart and other obnoxious music.
I'll start with the guitar amp. If that doesn't get the point across, I'll go pull my stage PA system out of storage. 1200W of power plus 2000W of subs.

Exactly! Which is why I LOVE what happened.

They were playing soccer. The citizen teams had to pay fir a permit to use tge field and have proof of insurance and be scheduled to use the field. Newsmax had an in depth piece on the conflict with well spoken parent organizers of the soccer league. The parents said that a handful of the immigrant/refugee adults playing soccer listened to their concerns, spoke English and translated to the teams playing. They left the game not wanting to interact with the police. The vast majority of the teams stayed and continued playing. The parents of the organized sanctioned users of the field said they were not backed up by the cops who showed up. And left because they felt unsafe if they escalated the issue.

These were AFRICANS . . . potentially VIOLENT ENTITLED

Just wait 'till it gets hot outside (weather)
And I saw an article which I also think was in NYC in a court of law Africans were offended in that the people of NYC didn't learn African Languages.

Think about that for a minute.

This is America learn to speak English.

Thank you for the clarification. We don't watch Newsmax much, largely because of Mt Annoying who believes his witty (???) interruptions amidst video clips is somehow journalism.

But the additional info makes sense.

can't blame the NYC coppers - they were handed the nitestick dipped in shit and made to handle crap that starts with the Head DNCer .....

take the eazy route >> none of that soccer crowd was being physically injured - they didn't have to start a 3rd World skinnie battle riot - soccer team coaches & kids got a 2024 NYC lesson that "public" no longer includes them
