The Decline Of India

by Tyler Durden
Sat, 04/27/2019

Authored by Jayant Bhandari via InternationalMan.com

"As I write these words, the 2019 general election for the next federal government of India is underway. This comes five years after a significant break from the past occurred in Indian politics. Now, for the first time since independence, the ruling party and the Prime Minister have no connection with the British colonial past.

Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, was born in 1950, three years after the British left.

It is perhaps no coincidence then that this cycle’s electioneering is by far of the lowest quality I have ever seen. Terrorists, criminals, mass-murderers, fanatics, conmen, and gang-rapists populate the field. Moreover, at least one-third of the current legislators have criminal proceedings against them, and this in a country where most crimes never get reported. Every face I see reminds me of Gollum (of The Lord of the Rings).

The voter is obsessed with his ideological preferences and processes everything through partisan lenses. If a rapist is from a feminist’s preferred party, she will refuse to see any fault in him. Not that India has had much to do with concepts like morality and reason. In earlier times, there was a certain kind of tolerance of different ideas. That tolerance is long gone.

Everywhere I look it is as if scavengers are feasting on carcasses.

In India, as elsewhere, institutions provide us with the basic ecology to conduct social transactions. If these institutions are formed on the basis of reason and morality, they encourage people to think, operate and transact without aggression or fraud.

Unfortunately, the rational institutions that the British left behind in India have continued to degrade since the time they left. Modi was a sudden and significant break from the British and also the start of an era of rapid degradation.

Termites have now hollowed out these institutions. There is a suffocating smell of rot everywhere. Class, vision, honor, pride, and self-respect are conspicuous by their absence, not just among politicians but particularly among the citizens. Now the underlying tribal culture is reasserting itself through the continued - and accelerating - degeneration of these political institutions.

According to the international organizations—the World Bank, the IMF, etc.—India is a vibrant democracy, and among the fastest growing economies in the world. I am not sure whether to trust my own senses or these well-staffed organizations with tens of billions of dollars in funding.

Every party is operating on a single economic policy: Who will offer the most goodies if elected.

Before he became the Prime Minister, Modi had suggested offering INR 1.5 million of free money to each individual, an amount that would have been 1,300% of GDP per capita. Rahul Gandhi, the main opposition candidate, is offering INR 71,000 to each poor family, and government jobs to many tens of millions.

India is more regressive today than it was before the so-called liberalization of 1991.

Unemployment has also shot up. Tens of millions were shown the illusion of success if they went to schools and colleges. These individuals are now knocking on doors, looking for whatever they can. It is not very difficult to find an Amazon delivery guy who is an engineer.

Recently, Indian Railways posted 90,000 job vacancies. 28 million candidates applied – a number comparable to the total workforce of the UK. But this is nothing unusual. Engineers, doctors, PhDs regularly apply for jobs that otherwise require no more than primary school education, including jobs that require dipping into pools of sewage to unblock drains (watch the Slumdog Millionaire movie to get a “flavor” of this).

In 2016, Modi implemented demonetization of 86% of Indian currency, which seriously harmed the economy. For a long time, the backbone of the Indian economy has been its informal sector. Without cash, this sector went into a coma. Then Modi implemented an extremely onerous internet-based value-added tax system, in which every receipt is reconciled. There are now hundreds of regulations and circulars amending the tax system.

I know many otherwise educated people who have never used their ATM card. In the low-trust society of India, they cannot foresee not having a human on the other side before they collect their cash. With poor people, the difficulty is much bigger. They simply cannot comprehend how this whole system works.

I don’t use my card either, for it is not impossible for money to leave my account and then never arrive where I send it. Everyone who has used Indian banks suffers from this problem and takes it in its stride.

While economically, all parties are on the left, offering crumbs to the poor while stealing the public treasury, there is also a considerable religious divide. The party seen as the right-wing, BJP, favours Hindu nationalism and has contributed to significantly increasing fanaticism among Hindus. The left is made up of victim-card holders: Muslims, communists, and what are rightly called “pseudo-secular” (spineless non-Muslims who find faults in their own religions but then without any logical connection conclude with sympathy for Islam).

Modi, who belongs to the right-wing, BJP, realized that he was likely to lose elections, so on 26thFebruary 2019, to get votes of the TV-watching zombies, who wanted to vicariously feel valorous, he decided to send fighter planes inside Pakistan to drop bombs, trying to enact what Israel or the US do.

As a result of the incursion, India claimed to have killed 250 terrorists who were in training at a camp inside Pakistan. All evidence so far shows that they likely missed their target. (It seems they did shoot down a helicopter with six people in it…except that it was India’s own.) Nine Indian fighter planes have fallen from the sky so far this year during training, for no good reason.

The good thing is that when a nuclear war happens between India and Pakistan, the bombs will likely fail to explode.

Average Indian IQ, depending on which statistics you look at, is between 76 and 82. Given that our political correctness no longer allows us to talk about IQ, the assumption among the IMF and the World Bank is that India will not only be the next China but much better, for India is a democracy.

China copied western technology. India (and Africa) failed—copying is not all that easy. Shops in India are ridden with basic things like Chinese plastic toys. Finding skilled people is a near impossibility. When you bring a plumber home, you should expect him to create three new problems for each one he claims to solve. Those who think India will ever take over the manufacturing that is leaving China are living a politically correct delusion.

Even India’s IT industry —which was never a force to reckon with and dealt mostly with low-level work, and employed no more than 0.3% of the population—is rapidly losing ground. Call centres, as the reader might lately have realised, is rapidly moving either back to the US or to the Philippines.

Nothing works in India.

As time marches on, institutions continue to fall apart, degenerating and decaying. The Constitution is today mere pieces of parchment, with only as much value as the comprehension of the judge allows for. He simply does not have a rational mindset, for which the British formed India’s institutions.

As institutions succumb to rot and decay, India has proven incapable of even maintaining them, let alone creating new ones to deal with the many modern challenges facing the country.

India economic growth, which began in the early 1990s, came about not so much because of so-called liberalization, but because cheap telephony and internet “force-fed” technology into the country, as it did to the rest of the Third World. That benefit has now been used up.

Even then, most of the Third World growth came from China, now clearly a Second World country. If you exclude China from the Third World, its growth does not look too good.

By the end of WW2, Britain had realized that India and the rest of the Third World were not worth the effort. These societies had become too chaotic. And the few liberties that the British did extend to the locals were in turn used to fight against them, rather than to build upon the foundations and to use them as a springboard to improve their own lot.

The Third World, including India, was living lives of savagery and barbarianism, existing at the margin of Malthusian equilibrium.

In 1950, India’s population was 359 million. Today it is 1,369 million. In 2050 it is likely to be 1,659 million. But population explosion does not tell you the full horror of the reality. The most educated and smart Indians (who the readers of this article come across) typically emigrate to work for private companies abroad, and simply have fewer or no children. The underclass therefore continues to increase in number with abandon while the proportion of smart people continues to decline across the society. All this aided by the affirmative policy has rapidly made the Indian government increasingly braindead.

The Third World wallows in victimization. The Christian guilt and virtue-signaling by the leftists in the West have encouraged this. Alas, this disallows the Third World to engage in any meaningful self-reflection, letting them to sink more and more into the quagmire; a reversion back to the dark ages.

What will be the outcome of the ongoing elections in India? This is the wrong question. As the break with the British past has been completed, there really isn’t any better option available.

As institutions in India continue to fall apart, now faster than ever, it will soon start to go off the cliff. India faces a humanitarian disaster. When one thinks about the Third World, one must keep in mind that except for China, the future is grotesque. Five billion individuals live in the Third World. When that falls apart, for their institutions will eventually no longer be able to contain them, it will be a humanitarian disaster of the kind the world has never seen before. Ironically, the World Bank and the IMF look at the Third World as the future of humanity. It is a future only the politically correct could imagine, but that India will suffer nonetheless."

I never considered this. History states the Brits left because their post WWII economy was a complete shambles and that is true. This adds another element which is also true. Why try to preserve some sense of order in a society totally against you? Leave them and hope for the best.

This is a spiritual issue. Nothing has to work in India in this lifetime, because there are a thousand more lifetimes to make it work. Nothing needs to be invented, or critically thought through, no legacies to be left, nothing important needs to be accomplished in this life because you can always accomplish it in the next go around. This was explained to me by my very "Braaaahmin" nephew in law, who enjoys living in our country, built by hard working, critically thinking westerners.

if they don't have the green card yet I can guarantee they'll likely be heading back soon. Last job was with an outsourcer and about 75% of the visas aren't getting renewed and people are getting sent home.

A couple a three thoughts:

If someone from India (my son works with a bunch) comes here for a couple of years, they can live high on the hog when they get back, if careful the rest of their lives.

Local store is owned by Indians (dot, not feather) really nice people. I asked the old man if he voted while back home. The mom, and dad just got back from a visit. He said "NO, vote here! They had become American citizens. I congratulated him, and think it is great.

I think that is the situation globally. Leave other countries alone. If they want to be better/improved etc. let them do it. If they want to remain tribal, leave them alone.

In India a new biomechanical technology has been engineered that combines the
traditionally simple yet effective method of communication through the grape vine
with the latest high-speed features of modern fiber optics. Customers can choose
their desired link to gossip or shop online. The only serious problem encountered,
which is the bane of all intricately wired hubs, is the squirrel. In America, squirrels
crawl up and get electrocuted, thereby causing temporary failures until technicians
can repair them, but in India, the squirrel that scampers where it should not and
becomes charbroiled could be one's long dead relative reincarnated. No one truly
knows as no one speaks squirrel chatter, not after humble Doctor Dolittle, with his
prodigious British Imperialist linguistic gifts, was sent sailing west. In most cases
Indians will turn the malfunctioning communication hub into a shrine with flowers,
often with daily offerings of food which of course lures more squirrels and also rats.

Even though said in sarcasm, your choice of wording is incorrect. First, do you realize that the “neo-conservative” movement that came into existence in the 70’s was made up entirely of liberals, upset with the dove-ish stance of the democrat party on “force projection” (read: foreign wars)? These liberals took root in the republican party and drove it far to the left. True conservatives cannot reclaim the republican party until all the neocons are driven out. Trump has been a catalyst for exposing them, and like the cockroaches they are, they scuttle for cover when the lights are turned on.

Now, all that being said, what’s at the heart of this “love the dregs of humanity around the world and bring them into the US” movement is pure virtue signaling. The left wants to “mother” these poor unfortunate souls, and “bring them up right” (even though they’re adults) so they can crow about how “enlightened” and “progressive” they are, and they want to do it with OUR money, stolen from us at gunpoint. Since they have no moral standards, they require none from the dregs they import. Their insane Utopian mentality is, “If we just SHOW THEM THE ‘RIGHT’ WAY, THEY'LL WANT TO FOLLOW IT ON THEIR OWN.”

So, be sure of your wording when talking about this. Imprecise wording allows the left to pick apart our arguments.

THIS. For my money, the best "Chief Curmudgeon" post yet. Particularly, note the similarity between the us Utopian mentality and that of the Soviets:

US Utopian: "If we just SHOW THEM THE 'RIGHT' WAY', THEY'LL WANT TO FOLLOW IT ON THEIR OWN"
USSR CCCP" "if we make sure they have shoes on their feet, clothes, food and a roof over their heads, they will behave right. We can create the (actual term used) NEW SOVIET MAN."

PS. Who said we had to be the only doomers? This is some serious Indian doom! Also helpful for an overall grasp of the state of the Third World as a whole. That China skews the statistics makes a great deal of sense.

More and more, I believe we are headed for a global "Dark Ages". The Western World managed to drag a big part of the rest of the globe out of it's sh*thole over the course of the 19th-20th Century (admittedly through empire-building and resource exploitation) , but it seems to not be the natural default status for most of humankind.

Once that snowball starts rolling down into hell, I don't think much is gonna stop it.

Not sure there is a cure.
Of course there is a cure. Nature always has a cure for everything. With nature the cure is always the same. Most of the population dies off leaving just the strongest, smartest, and fastest. Then slowly the population rebuilds with the only the best left to breed resulting in a stronger population.

There are a couple of numbers in that article that are just mind-boggling. 28 million applications for 90,000 jobs is one, and 0.3% of the population work in IT is the other. Our impression of India is great distorted by only seeing and dealing with the most successful.

He is probably right about China's emergence being the greatest single thing that came out of that period. IMO, that period has ended, and we are well into the collapse. It's most visible in countries in sub-Saharan Africa, which never really came out of tribalism, we just thought they did.

Yep, no doubt they have a problem there. When humans first left Africa some 70,000 years ago, not everyone evolved into a Mongoloid or even a Caucasoid, some just camped out on the warm beaches of India and genetically preserved the ancient phenotype of proto-Negroids. These non-African Negroids became known as the australoids and have a very low IQ. Had the australoids continued to dominate India, it likely never would have progressed much beyond the stone age, let alone become a major civilization and advanced economy, but about 8000 years ago, India started to get invaded by non-white caucasoids with a much higher IQ. So today India is a mixture and their IQ varies immensely. Also adding to the IQ deficit is how rampant malnutrition is in India. As a result India probably has several IQ bell curves depending on genotype.

Then again in the US we have our own IQ problems with certain races and ethnicities. AND it's getting worse as we keep encouraging them not to have abortions, while those of the dominate culture seem to have given up having babies.

China copied western technology. India (and Africa) failed—copying is not all that easy. Shops in India are ridden with basic things like Chinese plastic toys. Finding skilled people is a near impossibility. When you bring a plumber home, you should expect him to create three new problems for each one he claims to solve. Those who think India will ever take over the manufacturing that is leaving China are living a politically correct delusion.Actually Vietnam along with India, and the Philippines and Mexico has taken over a great deal of China's dirty and polluting manufacturing and low skilled labor requirements. China is rapidly adding robots to it's assembly lines and labor is no longer cheap compared to other countries.

In 1950, India’s population was 359 million. Today it is 1,369 million. In 2050 it is likely to be 1,659 million. But population explosion does not tell you the full horror of the reality. Exactly the same thing is happening throughout the US and the western world.
The best and brightest are not reproducing and having children, while those who are more of a liability than an asset are reproducing like bunnies. If not for abortion blacks would equal or even be the majority in this country in just a generation or two, but we have religious nuts running around trying to prevent them from having abortions. Our society is devolving and natural selection has been reversed as the worst among us are easily out breeding the rest of the country, while those who actually advance the country are becoming extinct.

The Third World wallows in victimization. The Christian guilt and virtue-signaling by the leftists in the West have encouraged this. Alas, this disallows the Third World to engage in any meaningful self-reflection, letting them to sink more and more into the quagmire; a reversion back to the dark ages.
I agree with this

However the author of the article is quick to point out all the faults of India, while not recognizing the very same things in his own country as we sink back into our own dark age.

As institutions in India continue to fall apart, now faster than ever, it will soon start to go off the cliff. India faces a humanitarian disaster.

Again, our own western civilization is in the midst of collapsing and this guy is worried about the 3rd world. I guess he is comforted by comparing a collapsing 3rd world country to his own which is also collapsing. But one has to ponder which is worse, to collapse into a shit-hole from a much lower level of civilization, or to fall much further after reaching for the stars.

Another crazy thing, what on earth did Modi think when he eliminated cash from the system, that hundreds of millions used exclusively for their transactions? We all remember when this happened, we knew it was nuts then. There was no trusted system in place to replace that, and chaos was unleashed. Of course. Those politicians live in a bubble surrounded by yes men and world bank advisers.

In the low-trust society of India, they cannot foresee not having a human on the other side before they collect their cash. With poor people, the difficulty is much bigger. They simply cannot comprehend how this whole system works.
One name here in the west. Bernie Madoff.

While economically, all parties are on the left, offering crumbs to the poor while stealing the public treasury, there is also a considerable religious divide.

Again this is world wide and not specific to India.

The party seen as the right-wing, BJP, favours Hindu nationalism and has contributed to significantly increasing fanaticism among Hindus. The left is made up of victim-card holders: Muslims, communists, and what are rightly called “pseudo-secular”

And this is different from western societies HOW????

.

Wag the Dog was invented in the west. ;)

Clinton bombing the dessert, and our fighting planes and ships aren't doing much better

I'd want to point out the authorship of this article.......

The following is, of sorts, a response to several of the posts here. Posts highlighting the simultaneous regressions toward a Dark Ages mean that we are seeing in both the West and the Third World. Spearheaded by the spreading adoptions of socialism, Marxism, PC and the victim culture. The following conclusion May sound a little bit like a thread drift, but I posit that it's actually a musing about the ultimate and consequences of this kind of thing.

A number of deep thinkers and sciences have been wondering why, in a Galaxy studded with a 100 billion stars and many planets there on, that we have seen no evidence of intelligent slice elsewhere. Yes, most planets will fail the various tests like Goldilocks zone, atmosphere, water, and so fourth. Even with all these things in the Fermi paradox there still should be teaming intelligent life out there and why aren't we encountering evidence of it? I'm really beginning to wonder if the hard limit that civilizations may hit may not be nuclear self destruction, but reversion to the stone age due to eventual adoption of marxism. I think I may have just achieved Peak Doom here…

Kali Yuga, or for us Westerners, return to the Wolf Age.
I'm not sure the re-start is actually any sort of Golden Age of improved behavior, but at least the mass die-offs clear out a lot of space.

Perhaps a corporeal existence, as we know it, and the material world, in general, are not the only experiences available.

When all that the "deep thinkers and sciences" understand happens to look and operate like a hammer, then, necessarily, everything they are looking for, "out there," will have to look like a nail. [translation: you don't know, what you don't know]

My half-assed theory is that throughout the Universe, "life" is everywhere. The basic building blocks and needed conditions for the 'spark" ARE everywhere. Gads, they just found methane and water on that little bitty Kuiper body 4 billion miles away. Might very well be as close as Mars - next door down. But it's probably rare that anything has developed much past single cell, or ever advanced to complex organisms and species, let alone intelligent or sentient.

Intelligent/sentient is probably extremely rare. Only happened with one species on this planet, it took about 4.5 billion years, and we as a genus have only been around for a couple million at best. Sentient years? Who knows, but no doubt a lot less. Half a million years is generous. Probably less than 100,000 years.

Given the vastness of space, intelligent species are probably so isolated from each other through distance and time that any contact or evidence of existence is unlikely.

Or any advanced species is smart enough to know that odds are against them being tougher than anyone else out there. It could be that the default behavior for successful species is to keep a low profile and make no contacts.

Say all you want about the quality of people of India, some take success very literally:

20 Indian students commit suicide after exam results

Twenty students have committed suicide in India this past week after the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) announced their exam scores, which Khaleejtimes reported have been marked in controversy after there were discrepancies in the results.

Nearly 1 million students took the exams between February and March, and nearly 350,000 failed, causing widespread protests from parents, student groups and political parties.

One student named Sirisha was failing biology and set herself on fire at her home in the Narayanpet district on Saturday after her parents went out to the fields, according to Khaleejtimes.

On Thursday, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao ordered the recounting and re-verification for all the students who failed their exams, while urging the students to not commit suicide, adding that failing the tests didn't mean the end of their lives.

According to the parents, what caused students to commit suicide was an error on the part of the software solutions firm, Globarena Technologies Private Limited, which had been hired by Telagana BIE to develop software for processing admissions, pre-examination and post-examination results.

A three-member panel consisting of G.T. Venkateswar Rao, Managing Director, Telangana State Technological Service, A. Vassan of BITS Hyderabad and Nishanth Dongari of IIT Hyderabad, submitted its report on Thursday to B. Janardhan Reddy, Secretary, Higher Education, Government of Telangana, which looked into Globarena Technologies. They also made recommendations to avoid examination lapses in the future, according to Khaleejtimes

12 BIE centers are currently in the process of evaluating the answer sheets of the failed students, says Khaleetimes, with each one handling between 70,000 to 120,000.

Reddy told Khaleejtimes they are still receiving applications and more than 50,000 students who passed also applied for re-verification because they weren't satisfied with their results.

The BIE says they have manpower to handle all the new tests, and they would release a daily bulletin on the status of those needing re-verification.

Answers were still wanted by the students and parents, who protested about the lack of information on the re-verification process. They wanted free re-verification for all of the students. According to Khaleejtimes they were denied entry to BIE offices by the local police.

"Why should we pay fee for the blunders committed by them?" a student told Khaleejtimes.

The student groups also asked for 25 lakh ($36,000) as compensation for the families of each student who committed suicide.

In 2017, both the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions of India saw more than 50 suicides by students between September and October.

On Friday, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued a notice to the Telangana government, seeking a detailed report by the Board.

Aditya B. writes:

This story brings back memories — specifically, memories of my own relatives offering to have someone else take these very same exams for me.

I may have mentioned that I am from a “political family.” My grandfather was a very powerful and well-connected man, and my father was an outright dangerous man – the kind of man who could force the Superintendent of a Central Prison to release a prisoner and destroy his intake papers.

That Liberals do not perceive minorities as fully human is evidenced by their glib dismissal of third-world dysfunction as “racism” or “Colonialism” is no surprise to anyone who has made the grave error of engaging one in conversation. Neither “Racism” nor “Colonialism” has anything to do with the chaotic conditions that are the status quo in India.

The average Indian has no conception of Rule of Law. It is an utterly foreign concept, like “freedom of speech” or “equality.” The average Indian only respects force and only complains when he is the victim. A favorite middle-class bugbear is “corruption;” with people solemnly intoning against the same as if it were some alien entity that has possessed the people as opposed to an integral portion of the Indian character.

In this forum and on Lawrence Auster’s blog, I have often remarked that I have no ethnic pride. People become visible uncomfortable when I say this, especially other immigrants, because I voice their darkest secret.

No immigrant is truly proud of his culture. If we had a culture that one could be proud of, one wouldn’t leave it behind. How many Danes or Swedes or Swiss immigrate? Negligible. Why would they? Do they live in the sort of nation where the government must maintain “flying squads” to prevent cheating by High Schoolers? Or where the very same “flying squads” are bombed by High Schoolers?

Once again, I hang my head in shame at the total dysfunction and shamelessness that is India. It is unknown whether these people can ever evolve into something resembling civilized creatures. For the moment, it is indisputable that India is a madman’s nightmare, a mental asylum packed with inmates of varying degrees of madness who have set fire to the very asylum in the course of their heated battle to control the same.

Indians inherited some of the finest infrastructure of Western Civilization which they tore down in less than a generation. What use are law codes, courts, police, elected representatives and so on when the people simply lack the capability to administer a modern nation? Is there any doubt in anyone’s mind that Indians are reverting to pre-Colonial savagery, the sort that turned the British into stark raving bigots, of a very primitive and vicious kind?

Not that I blame the British. One cannot spend any time in the midst of the primitive attitude that reigns supreme in every corner of the subcontinent without becoming exhausted. Essentially, the average Indian lacks Civic Sense. There is no feeling of Commonwealth. Each man is truly on his own. The Law is nothing more than a tool that is utilized for personal, and thereafter, tribal aggrandizement. One sees this attitude in the micro — dumping trash on the streets or on the neighbor’s property and in the macro — the regular embezzlement of public monies by all functionaries, high and low.

And then when they don’t get their way, and when wailing and pleading is insufficient, some of the more vigorous tribes use casual violence. Whether it is policemen gang-raping “Westernized” girls or high schoolers bombing “flying squads,” the roots of the violence are embedded in a low-IQ, low-impulse control mind that only cares about itself and, occasionally, the tribe.

This mentality does not vanish with immigration. I have regularly highlighted the lack of Indian philanthropy and military participation as dispositive of the Indian apathy, and occasional, antipathy towards the West. How can we sustain a First World polity that is totally dependent on Civic Sense when we continue to import people who consider such sentiments as a form of naivete and stupidity and immigrate solely to take advantage of well-meaning Westerners?

I am ashamed of these people. But I am enraged with Chamber of Commerce and Open Borders types who want to turn America over to them. I did not uproot my life in order to return to the Third World. It is about time that Dissenting Voices challenged these traitors by shedding light on the primitiveness and barbarism of Indian “culture,” by reminding Americans that, to paraphrase President Bush, culture does not stop at the borders: this sort of savagery will become the norm in America unless aggressive preventive measure are immediately undertaken.

Your latest article on cheating in India is both interesting and unsettling. I’ve worked in technology for close to 20 years, and my personal experience working with Indians in the country on H-1B visas has usually been very positive. This is been true in analog hardware engineering, digital hardware engineering, systems programming, general software development, engineering leadership… the list goes on and on, and it spans my career.

I’m not going to claim that this is true for every H-1B visa that the country grants, but my experience has been that many of the people in this country on an H-1B visa are talented professionals and worthy contributors to our nation’s economic output.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Laura writes:

The fact that cheating on exams is a serious problem in India does not necessarily mean that Indians working in technology in this country routinely cheat. Many of those on H-1B visas are hard workers, honest and competent. But, India is a dramatically different culture. (Aditya is especially harsh, but there is no question it is a very different place.) And this country is more than just an economy. Besides, it seems there are many here who would take those jobs.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A reader writes:

The reason Western Civilization rose above blatant tribal barbarism Chrisitanity’s moral framework. In my grandfather’s day even people who weren’t religious lived by the moral code, and the law was based on it. Of course there were failures in individual lives and corruption in government but people knew it was wrong. Now I wonder how much longer this nation has.

Anti-Globalist writes:

Once again, Aditya B. reveals a profound truth.

“No immigrant is truly proud of his culture. If we had a culture that one could be proud of, one wouldn’t leave it behind.”

This statement on its face is so self-evident that one would think everyone would acknowledge it as a matter of course. But they don’t, and thus the racial grievance industry uses immigrants as grist for its mill.

Aditya also rightly points out the irony and the tragedy of intelligent, thoughtful, desirable immigrants like himself working hard to escape the Third World and to emigrate to the United States legally – only to have the elites of the United States conspire to import the Third World to the United States.

Conservatives of every generation have deplored various ‘innovations’ which they believed coarsened society and were generally undesirable. Nowadays, the evils of mass communications technologies, mass air transit, and self-lobotomization of our elites (i.e., they neither know nothing nor care about history and human nature, and are proud of it) mean that the negative effects of what we’re doing to ourselves are deeper, broader, and take hold more rapidly than ever before in human history.

This time, we may just have the ability to extinguish civilization forever; not through a strategic nuclear exchange (which, while unpleasant in the areas directly affected, would *not* spell the end of human civilization), nor through some imaginary ecotastrophe; but rather through the triumph of mediocrity and the abdication and betrayal of those who ought to be the elites of our society.

Laura writes:

Regarding your first point, many immigrants have, for economic gain, left countries to which they were attached.

many cases of mistaken identify, but also new romances and profitable business deals.

That is exactly it- it is a Godless entity.

Some thoughts:
I don't think that many people know the 1st, 2nd, 3rd world names refer to US/NATO/democracy aligned, Soviet/communist aligned, and unaligned, respectively. I know that 3rd world has come to be used for unindustrialized/craphole countries, but that isn't the original use of the designations. Technically, India should be a 1st world nation, being strongly NATO/US aligned.

Visa holders may be losing visas, but until recently visa overstay was one of the largest illegal immigration tactics. I wouldn't go home until forced.

Many of the problems with demography are caused by the Muslims trying to outbreed the native population (who historically have large families). Honestly, I've been waiting for Modi to go Hutu on the Muslims, since the tribal problems are comparable to those in Rwanda.

Gee Whiz, when the bankers I worked for sent our jobs in the mortgage department to India it was hailed as such an innovated, “we are the world, we are one,” move. Of course, in reality, it was greed pure and simple and not one politician, that I’m aware of, even tried to stop it.
And it should have been stopped.

If your loan is serviced by Indians they have your social security number, your bank account number, your address, phone number, credit score, and pictures of the outside and inside of your house. They know all about you. I wonder how much that information is worth on the world market?

Without the higher IQ and high trust culture, no nation can copy what we used to have. It came from the English and the northern Europeans.
WE no longer have it, which is why we are devolving. Not sure there is a cure.

The future looks tribal....

It has seemed that we as a world have been going tribal for the last decade or three. This article confirms my own thoughts of how things are going and will end up. We will at some point in the not too distant future, be facing an economic disaster of epic proportions. The world will starve and then the hidden guns will come out. I would not be surprised if a third of the world dies off in the next 30 years.
