CRISIS Nobody is safe!

Last night on the local SoCal news a motorcycle cop in L.A. county was stopped at a red light waiting for it to turn when "someone" in broad daylight shot him square in the back!! And then just drove off. Fortunately he was wearing his vest and that saved his life. Talk about a cowardly act, not to mention attempted murder. There is nothing lower than a Back Shooter. So far they still looking for the shooter.

My guess would be that it is either somehow connected to gang activity (maybe an initiation stunt....yes they are that crazy) or a total nut case, or maybe both. All this random shooting going on across the country is just plain getting NUTZ!! We're becoming the Wild Wild West and even the wild west wasn't this wild and insane. :bhd:

Many talk about civil war. The first step for any 'side' in a civil war would be to remove all law enforcement. Maybe some are getting ready.
Or:
We have imported many tens of millions of military aged men from third world countries. Many have grouped together to form gangs. For any of these gangs to flourish, law enforcement must be bought-off or removed.

Neither here nor there.
In Central Iowa, cops ride around in SUVs or pickup trucks. What few motorcycles are left are probably reserved for funeral escort duties. I never see them anymore, except in that situation.

This^^^ You will see cops on bicycles out on the bike paths, etc., were kids are known to gather to do drugs and/or get drunk. Lately I've seen more of them in golf carts or side by sides on the bike paths/trails.

When events like that happen, I now have to wonder if the cop did something dirty to a good guy. In the past, you would expect only a criminal to put a hit on a cop. I have seen more dirty cop videos than clean movies. We are close to Mad Max realization.

My main thought is that I don't think there are many cops that aren't wearing bullet proof vests anymore.

I remember when a family member was on the force there were some issues with cops not wanting to wear their vests. Whereas for us, we all chipped in to get said family member a much better vest than was made available through the department.

Watch Lackluster, AuditTheAudit or TheCivilRightsLawyer on Youtube and you will find no shortage of police acting outside the bounds of the law and infringing on the Rights of the Citizenry.
Cameras are more prevalent than ever, and it isn't just a cop-said vs perp-said world anymore.

Qualified Immunity needs to end for color of law violations and offences (for police, .gov officials and politicians) and the offenders need to go to banned from all power-exerting jobs, be personally liable for damages, and/or go to jail.

I have been a public servant for much of my life, and seeing some of the jack-booted thuggery and blatant criminality that goes on makes me sick.
The sad thing is that it has likely ALWAYS been going on, only we couldn't actually see it in real time.

NEW: Per multiple law enforcement sources to me & @AlexandriaHrndz
, Raymundo Duran, the man arrested on suspicion of randomly shooting a @LASDHQ
deputy in the back in West Covina yesterday, is a known gang member w/ a violent criminal history, including a manslaughter conviction for stabbing a coworker to death in 2001, a conviction for felony evading in 2021, a conviction for felon in possession of a firearm in 2022, and a DUI arrest last October.
He also has a handful of other misdemeanor arrests.

The deputy was on his motorcycle sitting at a red light yesterday when he was shot in his back, with his bullet proof vest catching the round and saving his life.

LASD says Duran was arrested by CHP for drunk driving in San Diego County last night, and he had a gun on him. Investigators tied him to the shooting via surveillance video, the gun, and witness statements.

Charges now pending.

Review your carry. Many CCW I hear are changing for these reasons. The thugs are running around with huge magazines hanging out of their guns. If not AR platforms.

They don’t plan to really aim. Just send a lot of lead your direction to overwhelm you.

The ones in my primary home area are used to give out tickets in the ‘burbs. Usually after a neighbor or more have complained about cars zooming down the street.

In Springfield, MO, the locals drive like a bat out of hell on the freeways bordering the southeast quadrant of the city (Hwys 65 & 60). When the weather gets nice, Springfield has a couple of motorcycle cops who do a good job hiding themselves on 65 from about Sunshine St down to the Hwy 60 intersection, and on Hwy 60 from about Campbell eastward to the 65 intersection. (You'd have to look at a map to have that make any sense, probably) They always have customers.

They really get a pile of customers when they're working in tandem, I've noticed. No worries when it's raining or cold, though. Then all you have to think about are all the crazy high-speed drivers zipping in and out of lanes.

I find it hard to fathom that as many vids that are out there , cops still violate the rights and or still pull the shyte they do .
That being said there is no excuse..sue the mother lovers out of existence....there are good cops out there but I also see no shortage of them that wilfully violate rights and think nothing will happen.
A entire force is only as good as as the worst right violating pig scum of the department...Police your own first or they will be hated and worse yet actively hunted ....Police your own or Joe citizens will.

Because there is zero accountability on the part of the dirty cop. You can sue for damages but that is just tax dollars. Nothing as far as the cop is concerned.
That's why in some if not all cases they need to end qualified immunity...then it comes from the cop himself...if they were financially responsible for their own misdeeds they might not be so quick to beat the track out of people or shoot them for no or little reason

It's still early in the year for motorcycle season in your area. Late May most departments with motorcycles start patrolling with them in IL and IA. Maybe special events before late May if weather allows.
