PLAY No Time To Die Bond Movie: reviews and comments

I have not seen the new Bond Movie. I don't do theaters anymore, it cost $12 a ticket, and my prostate won't let me sit for 3 hours: 2 hours and 45 minutes, plus 20 minutes of intros, ads, etc for a GRAND TOTAL OF 3 HOURS. Anyway, if anybody has seen it comments would be appreciated.

For whatever reason, the prefix wouldn't load on my page, despite clicking on it multiple times. I would have listed it as PLAY. NOTE. I went off page, and then back in, and it worked. Sheesh, even the computers are after me. :shd:

You were on DOUBLE SECRET PROBATION! Now I have to think of another level as there is really no punishment. I'm with you on the theaters. I find myself squirming at a 20 minute video let alone three hours! I don't like the fact there's a sheboon in the main roles. Just don't like it. I see too many angry negroes everywhere.

The last movie I saw in a theater was REVENANT in 2015. That one needed to be sceen on the big screen.
The last 2 bond movies I saw had scarred wimpy villians who were pathetic. Skyfall was carried by Craig and Dench, but after rewatching Spectre, well it was not very good.

The trailer I saw had a face scarred, lisping Rami Malek. He looked and sounded worse than the guys in both Spectre and Skyfall.
Of course if User1911 can get me a copy I won't complain.:D

I will wait and see. I wonder if they are streaming and in theaters at the same time?

The dvd release date is January 14th 2022. Streaming may start 4 to 6 weeks after that?
Sounds like it will stay in theaters a full 3 months. $242 MILLION MOVIE.
I will wait maybe.

I have a problem with EVERYTHING HOLLYWEIRD puts out now since they despise me and want to murder moi.
The felix character is played by jeffery wright who is a black radical bigot blm whore anti trump fruitcake even worse than deniro.
Assuming the system is intact in january, I may not be interested. And the blofield character was he the one villian from Spectre? Well, I hated that actor's portrayal. :poop:
Yeah they may be murdering dissidents like me by then.
We shall see.

We don't watch anything put out by Disney anymore. I can't even remember the last time we went to a movie theater. As far as we feel about the Bond movie's they went down hill quite a while ago.

I see movies in the theater fairly rarely, usually with family who have been wanting to see a certain movie (like the latest Star Wars). Generally, I find watching them at home more enjoyable. At least you can pause or go back if you didn't catch something. :D

We have a 72 inch television, surround sound, HBO Max, and an air popper for our organic popcorn, so we're good without going to the theater. Unfortunately, the new Bond movie isn't streaming on HBO Max, so we'll have to wait to see it. I'm looking forward to the new Dune movie's release, however. We recently watched the Sopranos prequel from the comfort of our own recliners and it wasn't terrible, but I'd have been upset if I'd paid to see it in a theater.

The TV isn't actually used all that much. It's seen more action in the past days than it has in a long time, because I've had the live stream for the volcano going in the background when it wasn't being used for gaming. Speaking of which, the new Far Cry came out, and it's all about how to overthrow the government. No kidding. I mean, not OUR government, it's a fictional one, but still.

So there's no wokeness or lecturing?
And Bond is still a strong Alpha male in this movie?
Husband and I are thinking about watching it, but have these Questions....

It was a great movie, saw it last night. Daniel Craig is the GOAT. How could any other actor ever replace that guy. He's the pure embodiment of an alpha male with all the perfect traits. He's smart, cunning, and in the business to win. It was also good to see that he's still ripped in his lower 50's. It's motivational to see.

Also have to add that for the brief bit that Ana de Armas was in the movie, she was really awesome and an absolute beauty.

It's worth seeing and I would really like to dig in more and write about a few of the details of the movie but I don't want anyone to accidently read it and spoil the movie.

Different issues for the movie:

No spoilers but here is the balance of the article:
Here are five takeaways from Bond’s latest box office mission:

1. Older audiences aren’t ready to return to theaters
Hollywood hoped Bond, a long-running franchise that has always been particularly popular among older crowds, would bring those moviegoers back in a bigger way after lukewarm ticket sales for “The Sopranos” prequel “The Many Saints of Newark,” Clint Eastwood’s Western “Cry Macho,” the Jessica Chastain-led biopic “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” and other offerings intended to appeal to audiences who are less interested in superhero spectacles. Moreover, executives and theater operators were counting on “No Time to Die” to inspire people to return for numerous awards hopefuls on the calendar later in fall, such as Wes Anderson’s “The French Dispatch” and Pablo Larrain’s Princess Diana drama “Spencer.”
“No Time to Die” sold more tickets to moviegoers over 45 than any other pandemic-era movie, with 36% of ticket buyers over the age of 45 and 57% over 35. Yet the reality is that older audiences have been the most concerned about new variants of COVID-19 and, as a result, haven’t been as tempted to go to their local multiplex. Older audiences aren’t known to rush out on opening weekend, and reviews have been strong for “No Time to Die,” which could be a positive sign for the movie’s long-term prospects.

“Older and family audiences are unlikely to return to full strength before the pandemic is completely behind us,” Gross says.

There have been signs that may be improving, albeit slower than most would have liked. United Artists Releasing, the company distributing the film in the U.S., reported 25% of ticket buyers returned to theaters for the first time in more than 18 months for Bond.

2. Young men aren’t sweating variants
Just like older audiences have been more or less absent from theaters, another consistency has been boys and men buying tickets in force. For “No Time to Die,” audiences skewed heavily male, representing 64% of ticket sales. That was also the case with “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” ($141 million in North America to date), “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” ($212 million in North America to date), “Black Widow” ($183 million in North America to date) and “F9: The Fast Saga” ($173 million in North America to date). Those properties all cater to younger audiences, which is likely why initial returns were higher than “No Time to Die.” The 25th Bond outing also faced steep competition from “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” which opened last weekend and continued to pull in strong numbers. It’s possible that moviegoers under 25 were more tempted to see Tom Hardy’s mischievous alien symbiote wreak havoc rather than watch Bond emerge from retirement.

3. It’s all about Imax
When people have been going to cinemas, they have been opting to watch the latest blockbuster in the best quality possible. It makes sense, since box office charts have been led by spectacles that are filled with CGI and intricate action sequences. In the case of “No Time to Die,” premium large formats such as Imax, Dolby, 4DX and RealD contributed to 36% of overall ticket sales. Imax alone accounted for 13% of box office revenues with $7.3 million domestically, marking the company’s biggest debut since “Aquaman” opened in December of 2018.

“The combination of Imax technology and this iconic franchise has proven to be a winning one at the global box office, with audiences everywhere turning out to experience Cary Fukunaga’s immersive filmmaking as it was meant to be seen,” Megan Colligan, Imax Entertainment president, said in a statement. “Imax is reaching and even exceeding pre-pandemic global box office for September and October, which is a very exciting prospect given the upside ahead with audiences and blockbusters still returning to theaters.”

Expect upcoming visual-effects heavy tentpoles like “Dune,” “Eternals,” Sony’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and the Warner Bros. sequel “The Matrix: Resurrections” to continue that trend.

4. An October to remember?
Outside of Imax, moviegoing has hardly compared to pre-pandemic levels. Yet October, which isn’t a typically busy period at the box office, is shaping up to be stronger than historically lucrative summer months as audiences return to theaters. Thanks to the “Venom” sequel and “No Time to Die,” October has already outpaced May of 2021, the official start to summer blockbuster season, in overall ticket sales. It’s the first time, maybe ever, that has happened. Through its first 10 days, October has generated $269 million in receipts, while the entire month of May (which saw the release of “A Quiet Place Part II,” “Cruella” and hardly any other compelling titles) brought in $215 million. If “Halloween Kills” and “Dune” incentivize movie-watchers in droves, October could eclipse July ($583 million), August ($421 million) and June ($409 million) to become the biggest month of the year. Whether or not it breaks records, it marks a notable improvement on the first quarter of the year with lackluster turnouts in January ($64 million), February ($56 million) and March ($116 million).
“We are seeing numbers in October that we would normally see in the summer,” says Paul Dergarabedian, a senior media analyst with Comscore. “It’s going to be one of the more potent Octobers at the box office.”

5. James Bond may need to economize
With 25 popular movies across six decades, Bond has cemented its place as a film franchise with few rivals. The property was a cornerstone of Amazon’s $8.45 billion acquisition of MGM, the company that backs Bond. (Universal Pictures distributes Bond internationally.) That means although Craig has retired his black tux and signature martini, it’ll hardly be the last that audiences see of the coveted spy series. Though no upcoming projects have been announced, the Bond overlords are likely taking a hard look at how much money they will pump into the next 007 outing — whether on the big or small screen.

For “No Time to Die,” $56 million to start is somewhat disappointing because it carries an enormous budget and will need to gross at least $800 million globally to get out of the red (probably closer to $900 million). Box office experts predict the film will complete its domestic run with approximately $150 million, considerably short of its franchise predecessors, 2012’s “Skyfall” ($300 million) and 2015’s “Spectre” ($200 million). In that case, “No Time to Die” will need to generate significant coinage at international box office, where it’s already amassed a strong $145 million. It has yet to open in China (set for Oct. 29), which is a popular market for Bond. “No Time to Die” has grossed $313 million to date and may struggle to break even, at least in its theatrical run.

“I don’t know that a future Bond property will have the same unique budgetary stressors this film had,” says Dergarabedian, referring to the tens of millions the studio had to spend delaying the movie due to the pandemic. “It takes a lot to offset those kind of costs. But audiences expect a certain level of production value from James Bond.”

It’s true that Bond has become synonymous with extravagance, but there should be ways to reduce costs — and still deliver on style — to assure an easier path to profitability. May we recommend leasing the Aston Martin?

It was a good movie, I think this may be Craig’s last as bond. I have enjoyed his Bond more than I thought I would. It is worth the rental once on TV. I am glad I saw it at theater.

I would not say this is a Woke film, to me it was a good story told in Bond fashion.

No Time to Die, the 25th entry in the iconic James Bond franchise, went woke and opened to a pathetic $56 million.
So how bad is that opening?
Oh, it’s bad.

Despite debuting on 4,400 screens, a record for a Bond film, No Time to Die didn’t come close to the opening of its three most recent predecessors: 2015’s Spectre (70.4 million), 2012’s Skyfall ($88 million), or 2008’s Quantum of Solace ($67.5 million). The only Daniel Craig entry No Time to Die topped was his first, 2006’s Casino Royale ($40.8 million).

As of right now, No Time to Die sits at $313 million worldwide, which sounds good when it’s likely not. This sucker cost somewhere between $250 to $300 million to produce, and the producers are bragging about how they put another $250 million into promotion. That means No Time to Die will have to land somewhere in the vicinity of $1 billion just to break even.

Daniel Craig is James Bond in “No Time to Die.” (MGM)

Naturally, the lying suck-ups in the Hollywood press are already making lame excuses for this underperformance when we all know what the real problem is. Let’s just say it ain’t the pandemic, and it ain’t the fact the movie is nearly three hours long.

It’s bad enough Craig’s Bond series took all the fun and sex and escapism out of the franchise. What makes Bond unique is that he’s a super-spy who knows he won’t live long and therefore lives his life to the fullest as a devil-may-care libertine. But Craig’s Bond is a moody brooder. And then, on top killjoying the very quality that makes James Bond James Bond, No Time to Die went woke. The director trashed Sean Connery’s Bond as a rapist (which only proved he knows nothing about his own franchise), the producers bragged about how No Time to Die would introduce a black woman as 007, and Q turned gay.

Lashana Lynch plays agent 007 in “No Time to Die. (MGM
Nobody wants to see that shit.

You want to make 008 or 009 or 0055 a black woman, fine! You want to introduce a gay character? Fine! But when you announce a black woman is 007 and the same Q we’ve known for 60 years has suddenly gone gay, the message is unmistakable: you’ve put kneeling in fealty before the Woke Gestapo over the importance of story, legacy, and respect for what’s come before. So **** you right back.

No Time to Die should have been 007’s Avengers: Endgame: This is the end of the Daniel Craig era! Come say goodbye to Daniel Craig! But that too is a problem, and not just because of the Woke Nazism. Unfortunately, there just isn’t a whole lot of affection and goodwill out there for Craig’s 007. That’s not the actor’s fault. It’s the producers’ fault who took all the fun out of the character, who turned him into a self-involved brooder and ejected the charming, glib, womanizing, devil-may-care badass we love to live through vicariously.

Let me explain why you cannot blame the pandemic for this massive fail of this opening weekend. Just a couple of weeks ago, Venom 2 opened to $90 million on fewer screens (4,225). A few weeks before that, something called Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings opened to $75.3 million on fewer screens (4330).

The suck-ups are also attempting to blame No Time to Die’s insane run time (2 hours and 43 minutes), which is just pure hogwash. First off, these same experts knew the run time when they predicted an opening somewhere between $60 and $80 million. Secondly, long runtimes only hurt the box office when fewer screenings force theaters to turn people away for lack of seats. Well, when you have a $56 million opening in 4,400 theaters, there are plenty of open seats.

The bottom line is this…
Woke is a violation of human nature, which makes it a lie, and no one wants to spend $12 to be lied to.
Because of a long-scheduled camping trip, I have not yet seen No Time to Die yet. I will try to this week. But I’m not looking forward to it, a sentiment that speaks volumes.

007 is a blac girl? Q is now gay? I'm out. Best movie in a long while is Mission Impossible 7. Action from start to finish. Excellent film. Movies are for escapism just like sports. When they inject politics, I tune out. That's what I came for. To forget.
I asked above, a couple days ago if this was woke, and no one responded with a yes or no, so I figured I'd just wait and see for a month or so.
This article above tells me everything I need to know.
We won't be watching that crap either and "in our head canon" the Bond series ended with the movie before this!
SCREW YOU HOLLYWOOD, for ruining almost every single movie you get your fag hands on! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Okay, I got the review I was looking for, Noltes about woke

I'M OUT. I think he is too harsh on Craig since I like his brooding as he put. On the other hand Q is gay, and a Sheboon as 007? Seriously? I'm out, won't even watch it on download or whatever. And yeah, three hours means I piss all over the theater seat, or miss 10 minutes of the movie. And that is another level of contempt the wokesters have for old men trying to watch this clunker.

Yep, the wokesters have DESTROYED EVERYTHING THEY TOUCH.

It will bomb in china with a black 007, since the Chinese are serious ass racists.

PS. A gay Q, when Xi the Merciless is eliminating all aspects of girly men from EVERYTHING IN CHINESE CULTURE? Yep, Q as gay is going to go over big time. :D

I finally broke down and watched it on Prime.
I must say it is on par with the previous Bond movies.
Sad to see Felix get taken out.
The most curious thing at the the end after the credits was
BOND WILL RETURN....
After he is shot multiple times, poisoned and blown up?

Got bored at the point the Aston Martin’s stopped being driven. The plot wasn’t evident to a simpleton as me. But... the Bond franchise was a bore even when I was 17. If it wasn’t free, I’d not have bothered. Made it through about an hour, then we went to bed. My dreams are better to me than any Bond movie. Hollyweird needs to go away.
