GUNS/RLTD New Jersey Magazine limit of 10 rounds

A question to all or am I being paranoid?

I was listening to a report about the NJ Appeals Court ruling 2-1 that it was perfectly fine to reduce the allowed rounds per magazine from 15 to 10. (paraphrased) The basis of their logic was that you could defend yourself just fine with 10 rounds and there was the potential of fewer deaths since people were reduced to 10 rounds per magazine.

They cited that their was no evidence that people were better defended with larger capacity magazines, but I find that not to be the case as I do remember a number of cases where the police fired full magazines (15+) in their own self defense or the defense of others.

What really got me was that the logic they are using would indicate that they could then say 2 rounds is more than enough or even a single round and even limit the force of that single round.

Am I being paranoid ? It really seems that this is the direction a number of BLUE states are heading that way.

Thanks!

You have good reason to be paranoid.

In order to accept this logic as sound one must assume the members of the court have been in numerous gun battles.

Otherwise it's BS.

That's kind of what I surmised from the report. It was more of a case of "we have black robes" so we know best.

Judges don’t know everything. There’s a reason the police carry the maximum amount of rounds. Multiple assailants are the norm now. Not the single attacker. 10 rounds don’t allow for many misses vs 2 assailants figuring 2 hits needed per assistant.

There’s a reason the police went from 6 shots revolvers to 15 round semis

The number of rounds really doesn't matter.
The crucial part is that they have usurped the authority to control that number.
If they can mandate 10 how long before they decide that 2 is enough?
