San Bernardino mountains, Southern California,
The second wave of rain hit our mountain at about 5:30 pm tonight.....and IT WAS A GULLY WASHER!! We've already seen an inch and a half from the storm yesterday and the day before. Just shy of 3 inches of rain so far tonight in the last three hours, and it's still raining. Lighter now as the storm passes over, but still raining. The roads here are a mess with debris and rocks and many are flooded. Lots of thunder and lightening.
We've been getting all sorts of emergency weather warnings on the TV tonight. Apparently L.A. and Ventura counties are really getting hammered with flooding and freeways are a mess, especially those running along the foothills. Should be interesting to check the late evening news and see exactly what is going on. HOPEFULLY this storm will knock out the wild fires around us, at least in the Southland.
