Need to hang pictures on a brick wall covered in plaster. Impossible to drive a nail in. Would a nail gun (preferably electric) be able to penetrate the wall? I only need it to go deep enough to hang a picture.

I don't know, but make darned sure you wear quality eye protection... a full face shield would be wiser...

I do think a masonry drill bit and screw would be safer..

I've been using the masonry drill bit and screws - brick and plaster are from 1879 and they're very fragile - whereas an instant "POW" nail inserted would not be as damaging. Yes, I AM going to put up all those pictures and was asking for guidance.

If you are going in at an angle you may have them coming back at you. You cant use the stick up hooks? Some of the newer ones are pretty impressive in what they can hold.
