I thought that since today (and possibly this week) look to be so crazy in the economic markets their might be some fun in a music to watch markets crash by thread.

As always with these sorts of threads, post as you like; please include links and videos when possible (or audio) and everyone's taste in music is their own choices.

I'll start with my favorite for times like this - note it is NOT work safe and contains bad language (but then you can tell that from the title) however as my husband said,

"this song is not only very well written and performed; it shows that there are still good musicians doing political songs and satire and doing it well!"

This song by Stephan Foster was sung everywhere in Ireland in 2008 when the economic crashed - I found this version by one of my favorite groups as a young adult, I used to have this wonderful recording in the American folk style

Wow Robby Noel.
I have not heard that name in decades.

Yeah, it's a shame. Robby had THE best voice on talk radio to my ears, a lifetime of experience, great taste in music and a wicked sense of humor. I'd pay to listen to Robby read the phone book on air ... but ...

Last I knew he was back in South Africa, still looking for the elephant's graveyard to overtake him. I bought the last of his phys from him when he was getting ready to head out this last trip ... quarter ounce krugs, and promised him I'd sell them back to him at whatever spot was at the time if he'd come back here to the states to claim them. They're the only krugs I have left.
