We've got one coming up, have to keep the appointment to redo a filling. Not looking forward to it.
You’d better go now. While ya can.

Plus, I have severe driving phobia. Only in certain scenarios. The roads are all torn up, construction issues with detours blah blah
I think I’ve nailed down my alt route. One that won’t trigger a panic attack.

I just tell myself, ‘self, if it gets weird you can always turn around’……’ain’t no one holding a gun to yer silly head’…..that gives me an “out” if need be.

Little psychological trick I use. :)

It won't take many more announcements like this to panic the already spooked herd. Just wait, until they start showing the gruesome photos along with their news reports.

YES! That's what I'm waiting for them to do.

FYI - Target is back to 6' distance stickers on their floors, recommending masks, and requiring employees to wear the cloth masks. When I was there this morning, I observed several families (moms and pre-teens) shopping for school supplies and wearing masks. I haven't seen this many people wearing masks since last spring.

(I ran in and ran out for several bottles of 91% rubbing alcohol. They are one of the few stores that have it in stock right now.)

Last time we were in town, we noticed lots more people beginning to wear masks again, too. The 6' distance stickers on the floors never have been taken up at most places, here. Mandatory mask signs in a lot of places never came down, either. People just ignored them. Now, people are, I think, beginning to pay attention again.

I've already stocked up on alcohol. Bought 2 more bottles the last time I was in town.

I figured, I'd translate it to get some clarity. Not sure that it helped, LOL.

Google Translate: "Lumpy virus is killing Gaumata and governments are doing the plight of Gaumata. This heartbreaking video is from Gujarat. Cow gives votes but cannot vote. Had I been able to give, I would not have received such misfortune. "

This is not the monkeypox known in Africa for decades. If you can't scrape the lesions off, what is inside them?

Previous research into the outbreak had described these lesions as pustules, however, it has emerged that these are actually pseudo-pustules. These are similar in appearance to pustules, but are actually whitish, raised lesions. With ‘real’ pustules it is possible to scrape away the top layer of the lesions but with pseudo-pustules it is not possible.

Other skin symptoms include ulcers where the pseudo-pustules meet the moist, inner linings of body cavities such as the nose, mouth, or genital areas, also known as mucous membranes. These mucosal ulcers can be the most common lesions in certain cases.

The researchers also found that well-controlled human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) did not seem to affect the severity of the disease.

So this MP is different than traditional MP. What changed?

CV vaccine and resultant Vaids?

Yep.

If my dog starts showing any signs of illness, I will give him anti-virals that are OK for dogs.

Anticipating the Health Authorities to demand all animals be killed since this “new” monkeypox infects animals and therefore could become a reservoir.
Anticipating millions of Americans will refuse to kill their beloved animal companions.

Will getting this lab engineered biowarfare pox confer immunity? That is most pivotal question.

Can't animals get the vax, too? Isn't there already one available for them? Psychgirl would know.

I believe I've read that once you get the MP, you are immune for life.

I have read that this was not an issue w smallpox because Drs did not believe there was ever an animal reservoir for smallpox. Human only.
But they were never 100% sure that was true.
They suspected rodents because rodents spread other poxes.
Smallpox mysteries were never completely solved.
For instance, they never knew exactly why and how smallpox killed humans.
This is what the old literature says. They observed plenty of factors.

Scientists tinkered w smallpox for centuries. I believe that after it was “eradicated” that much more was discovered about it in labs as technology advanced.

Smallpox was used as a bio weapon for centuries. It was so potent it decimated entire continents and islands.

Yes there are pox vaccines for some livestock!

Not sure about dogs yet, just looking into this.

Okay, hold on…^^^^ I may have posted inadvertently or gotten stories mixed up.
Sometimes it’s hard to Nero straight when one comments on a present day situation by referring back to an older one.

I apologize if it’s tangled up lol.

It is outrageous that *volunteers* who are donating time to vaccinate close contacts of active Monkeypox cases — some of whom may very well be harboring early Monkeypox infections — are not offered vaccination despite close skin and respiratory contact with hundreds of such folks

Farid Jalali MD
@farid__jalali
By sowing doubt due to “lack of studies” that healthcare workers — volunteers — are somehow “not” at risk of Monkeypox infections despite repeated contact with suspected or early cases, we are creating an environment where advocating for one’s safety as a volunteer is impossible
