(misc) polishing brass

I'm looking for an easier way to polish brass flatware, than to spend ten minutes rubbing each piece with brass polish and a soft rag. anyone able to help? :)

a couple of years ago, someone online let me in on the secret of shiny silver without the pain of polishing...water enough to cover the silver, vinegar, salt and a sheet of aluminum foil. lifts the tarnish right before your eyes.

have I tried it on brass? no

I only have brass candle sticks and plant stands but I use ketchup.

I spread it on, wait a few minutes then take a dry cloth and polish. I saw this in one of those small books you buy at the grocery stores when you check out.

Also when I polish them I use a cloth like a wash cloth with large weave loops as I find it adds some texture for polishing (unlike a ripped sheet).

I would test it out first. I'm not that particular about the plant stands and I'm not sure how it would work on flatware. What I like most about it is that it takes away the green stains which is what I find to be the hardest to remove.
