thanks.

this is a little odd, imho. i just read an article that said they have 300 or so reporters and 100 or so minutemen there and all i can find on the 'net are 4 photos of what's happening?

and then that nichols story hitting the wires today. the speech from waco...

or maybe i'm just expecting a lot of photos, etc. too early?

maybe so, but if there are *that many* journos down there, why can i only find four pics?

re: the pope. why are they running it non-stop? what 'news' are they not reporting today? sure, it's a big, sad story (and a spiritually important one), but the complete and total coverage is a bit much...

maybe it's just me, tho...

I have 35 pictures that I sent to Old bear but I don't know how to add them here. The best ones are of the protesters. They added "music" (drums, whistles, pots and pans with spoons) as they tried to make enough noise that no one in the meeting building could hear the proceedings. But they didn't count on a 120 year old adobe building that is incredibly well insulated. The ones inside never heard a thing....

this was on that link:
http://www.douglasdispatch.com/articles/2005/04/01/news/03_minuteman.txt

Sen. Victor Soltero, D-Tucson, said he doesn't condone people crossing the border illegally.

"At the same time, the people that are here are providing a service to this country,'' he said. Soltero said they even pay taxes and Social Security though most will never collect.

"It really concerns me that people will enjoy the good things, the good services that immigrants provide and, on the other hand, saying that immigrants are only a drain on our country,'' Soltero said.
