Man Wearing McCain Shirt Arrested

They probably took him home. They also probably saved his life. It was easier to take him than to take on the crowd. He may as well had ****** on the back of his shirt. The result would have been the same.

Yeah, this is a dupe. He was going to get tore up by Obamathugs and they saved his stupid arse.

I guess the proof of the pudding is whether or not he was charged with anything. He wasn't disturbing the peace, the peace was already disturbed.

Personally, my sense of self-preservation is strong enough not to do what the guy did in wearing the shirt. But he had the right to do it, and I think the police were wrong. YMMV.

Looks like it could be the beginning of a Kristallnacht phenomenon. They probably saved the guy's life.

Yes, bad that his rights were slammed, but on a practical note, the cops probably saved him from a real beating or worse and themselves a lot of paperwork.

I can see how you might think it is wrong. I don't think they swear an oath to defend the constitution, though. They are their to preserve the peace.

I understand that, and that is why I'm not too exercised over the incident. I would be much more outraged if they had let him get himself in trouble, then not protect him. In that sense, what the police did was pre-emptive.

I still think it was wrong for two reasons:

1. The guy had the right to do what he did.
2. If the police did this as a pre-emptive protection, it shows they did not have a confident response pending for an assault on the guy.

As I think about it, reason #2 concerns me the most. They new they were outnumbered by the mob, and thus the mob constrained the police to performing an action that abridged someone else's rights. Mob rule? :shkr:

Nobody has mentioned that the guy had a sword strapped on his back.

Kinda dumb move, if you ask me.
