The Ukraine-Russia war has piled pressure on global food systems in addition to the impact of climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic on food supply chains.

What can be done to mitigate the impact of the food security and price crisis and build more resilient food systems for the long term?

(Panelists concerns: Fertilizer and increased food prices - going back on gains they had made in food security. The food crisis is in front of us - We know what to do. The question is can we do it fast enough. People are looking to farmers to solve the problem. Issue is that they haven't the means to do so: energy; risk; fertilizer; inputs.. Need to repurpose subsidies to "sustainable" practices: carbon capture, soil.

UAE person in audience. Food security: availability; accessibility; affordability affecting food security. Affordability is #1. Availability issues if don't have affordable inputs, how do they mitigate risk. Issues with banning exports.

Global inflation issues. What levers should have been pulled. Wealthy countries fiscal stimulus invested in social protection. Wealthy countries took care of their own and not emerging and developing countries. Now protectionism.

Ukraine has harvest. We need to help get it out to customers. Some of it is being stolen by Russia. Ukrainian farmers are not saying they can't get inputs. It is trying to get the product out.

WEF announcement. Collaboration is important. Nnew platform with Robobank.

(Seemed like a bunch of wheel spinning to me with a splash of Climate Change trumps food production input needs. Waste of time IMHO.)

For decades, strategists and futurists mentioned a technology revolution occurring in the 21st century based on biological and health technologies, which was broadly overshadowed by the digital revolution.

With advances during the pandemic, are biotechnologies finally getting the attention they deserve – and what do we need to discuss now regarding governance?

(Davos is the antithesis of war. Forging ties to tackle the big problems: SMART and sustainable ways to combat climate change; shaping globalization so all can benefit; make digitalization a force for good and mitigate its risks for democracies. Davos is all about crafting a better future together, instead, we must address Putin's war of choice.

Putin's moves comes out of another century where people are treated as faceless persons to be moved and controlled. It puts our entire International Order in question. $ for pensions and salaries. Economic relief operation in the short term. We will help Ukraine rise from the ashes and become reconstructed. A reconstruction platform $ from nations and corporations. A Marshall Plan for Ukraine.

Ukraine of the future - Massive investment and administrative changes.

We have to diversify away from fossil fuels. We need to accelerate the change. $300 billion plan called repower EU to phase out reliance on Russian gas. Currently 25% of their energy is from renewables. They want this to be 45% by 2030. Offshore wind - wind farms in the North Sea. Renewable energy is good for the climate but also for energy independence.

Repower EU also includes new sources of gas. In March, Biden agreed to step up LNG deliveries from the US. The amount will replace about 1/3 of the Russian gas. [Comment: Well, now we know one reason why US fertilizer prices are so high.] Also the Middle East and N Africa.

The economies of the future will rely on lithium batteries, silicone metals for chips, rare earth and magnets for EV and wind turbines. The Green and digital transition will massively increase the need for these materials. Access to these materials is currently through a handful of producers all over the world. We should not fall into the same trap as with oil and gas. We should not replace old dependencies with new ones.

The Russians have seized grain - calling up the historic Holodomor.
Got about half way through.

Lithium Shortage Expected to Spike EV Prices and Battery Costs
Battery cell prices are estimated to go up 22 percent through 2026.

It looks like cheap EVs won’t be coming anytime soon. Both EV production and sales are ramping up, and the industry expects both demands to climb even higher through the end of the decade. The downside of this demand is resource scarcity, which will affect EV battery prices. As CNBC reports, the next four to five years will see EV and battery cell prices spike.

The main driver of these increases is the growing scarcity of lithium, a major component in battery cell production. An analysis by Fastmarkets from last year says lithium supplies are expected to collapse relative to demand by 2026 and decline through 2030. And as VP of Colorado research firm E Source Sam Jaffe pointed out to CNBC, “You cannot make the batteries if you don’t mine the lithium.”

Automakers have been aware of this looming shortage and have called for more mining. Many are starting to partner with the mines themselves: GM has made an investment in an Australian mining company’s efforts to extract lithium from California’s Salton Sea; BMW purchased over half a billion Euros of lithium in Australia. Ford CEO Jim Farley has also called for more lithium mining.

So, through 2026, E Source estimates that battery cell prices will go up to $138 per kilowatt-hour, which will make EVs more expensive. Depending on the vehicle, E Source predicts EV prices will increase $1,500 to $3,000. But it’s not all bad news, as a price decline is expected after 2026.

So while automakers have (sort of) been promising that cheaper EVs are coming, other forces are very much working against them. More and more EV models are coming, but the realities of raw material prices increasing EV prices may keep EV adoption out of reach for millions of people, without more help from the government, at least.

Defending Sovereignty: The Fight of our Lifetime
Continuous vigilance and vigorous support of States' Constitutional rights is critical

A gradual and silent encroachment of our freedom and Federal, States’ and individual sovereignty by a globalist financial corporate cartel continues to proceed. One key aspect of our current political reality in the US is that many of our laws at the Federal level have been placed there by corporate stakeholders. Corporate lobbyists work tirelessly and relentlessly to insert legislation that benefits their industries and increases the wealth of their corporate clients and associated “stakeholders” into our federal laws and regulations, and to twist existing legislation so that it becomes a more perfect tool of their clients’ corporate interests. In parallel, within the many branches of the US Federal bureaucracy, regulatory capture has become the norm. Furthermore, it has become increasingly clear that it is grossly naive to expect solutions to these corrupting influences to come from either Congress or the entrenched and captured bureaucracy. And one hard truth learned by the first Trump administration is that the executive branch lacks the power and authority required to replace the entrenched bureaucrats that have become the ruling lords and ladies of the new inverted Totalitarian reality which is the entrenched Federal bureaucracy.

In this new Federal reality, where the culture of government institutions and agencies is damaged beyond repair, real change cannot occur by replacing one figurehead for another.

Corrupted policy can’t be easily replaced with good policy. The ideology, the rule of law, the subverted corporatist regulations are baked in. The system is rigged. The unknown (or known) bureaucrats controlling the levers aren’t going to let go of that easily. When they have done their time, most likely those employees will move into corporate leadership positions so long as they have protected corporatist interests during what has all too often become a form of internship-as-prelude prior to landing a “good job”. As most federal employees at the top-tier are well aware of their future career opportunities, they have no incentives to try to change the status-quo and upset their potential future employers . Government institutions that are intrinsically controlled by outside interests can not be reformed from within, so it is important to not waste too much energy trying. That’s why many argue that a “siege strategy” or even the creation of completely new institution(s) may be the answer.

Those of us fighting for freedom have come full circle and now confront the issue of state’s rights. This is a fundamental principle of our republic (often incorrectly referred to as “our democracy”). Each state has the ability to govern itself, within the confines of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Those powers are vast but frequently under-utilized. States have the power to ensure that a strong federalized governance is not the norm.

In 2012, Obama lifted restrictions from the Smith-Mundt Act (passed in 1948) that allowed domestic dissemination of government-funded media. Then the Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act, introduced by Republican Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio in 2016, established the Global Engagement Center under the State Department, with the following Mission and Vision statements:
Core Mission: To direct, lead, synchronize, integrate, and coordinate efforts of the Federal Government to recognize, understand, expose, and counter foreign state and non-state propaganda and disinformation efforts aimed at undermining or influencing the policies, security, or stability of the United States, its allies, and partner nations.
Vision: A data-driven Mission Center leading U.S. inter-agency efforts to proactively address foreign adversaries’ attempts to use disinformation and propaganda to undermine U.S. interests.
For examples of how this is being operationalized, please see the associated COVID-19 recovery policy page for this organization.
This center authorizes grants to non-governmental agencies to help "collect and store examples in print, online, and social media, disinformation, misinformation, and propaganda" directed at the U.S. and its allies, as well as "counter efforts by foreign entities to use disinformation, misinformation, and propaganda to influence the policies and social and political stability" of the U.S. and allied nations. These laws have worked to loosen the controls previously placed on the Federal government regarding its ability to push propaganda. The very fact that we have an ex-president of the USA, the very same one who presided over the lifting of restrictions of the Smith-Mundt Act calling for censorship of the press to “PROTECT OUR DEMOCRACY” and this he is SUPPORTED in this call by so many on the left is chilling.

When the changes to Smith-Mundt Act are combined with the Global Engagement Center, it is interesting to speculate how the US population might be manipulated. The CDC has spent a billion dollars on propaganda and censorship to ensure vaccine compliance through media buys, and one has to wonder just what sort of propaganda will be pushed on the American people in the future.

But what happens when a state like Florida becomes a threat to the Federal government exceeding its enumerated powers, and seizing control of more powers that have been traditionally assigned to the states? The back and forth between President Biden and Governor DeSantis over Florida’s COVID policies make clear the power that the Federal government has developed over states by leveraging the distribution (and ability to withhold) Federal Tax dollars. The actions of Governor DeSantis of Florida are so harshly criticized by those who control the levers of the Federal government (as well as purchased main stream media) because he has refused to comply with the Biden administration’s HHS bureaucratic edicts.

After the Biden administration admonished Florida for stagnant vaccination rates in Florida, the Feds then decided to federalize the distribution of monoclonal antibodies so that those who don’t get the vaccine have no alternative treatment option. This is a prime example of the retaliatory tools available to the Federal government, and illustrates that the Federal government is able and willing to compromise the health of US citizens to punish a state that choses to be noncompliant. Remember, the states regulate medicine and public health policy within that state. Biden refusing to send life saving medicine is a clear abuse of Federal power. The 10th Amendment of the United States Constitution authorizes states to establish laws and regulations protecting the health, safety, and general welfare of their citizens. The practice of medicine is not an inherent right of an individual, but a privilege granted by the people of a state acting through their elected representatives. For further details please see the Federation of State Medical Boards statement “About State Medical Boards”.

It is state’s rights – as imperfect as that system is, that protects us from the WHO/globalist power grab to leverage public health to compromise the sovereignty of the United States. The current strategic agenda of those seeking to advance globalism and global governance policies at the expense of the autonomy of nation-states is often referred to as the New World Order.

Those advocating for the New World Order include the World Economic Forum, transnational corporations/globalized investment capital, the UN, World Trade Organization, World Bank and now the World Health Organization. These entities have, to a more or lesser extent, gained control of the Federal government through leveraging the regulatory capture of our federalized agencies, departments and institutions. Money from these entities flows into the coffers of Congress to influence law makers. Often, treaties and agreements on the global level codify these arrangements. This ensures that our federal government is coopted by these entities.

Our federal government believes that it will be stronger when states have little or no control over the rules and regulations of the state. This is not what our founding fathers intended, and this is when the rights of all of us are trampled on. Our constitution codifies that each state maintains its own set of laws, rules and regulations. The beauty of this system is the diversity of cultures can be maintained within states. Living in Texas is very different than living in New Hampshire, and I believe that this is a good thing. Although states are stronger when there is a federal government appropriately assuming and defending those responsibilities enumerated under the US Constitution, they are also guaranteed the freedom to have their own cultural identity and rule of law. This is the beauty of our Constitution and Bill of Rights. This interweaving of states rights under the limited umbrella of a Federal government.

For many, the erosion of each states’ right to monitor and control federal elections, as guaranteed in the constitution, is the easy example to reach for as that line is also being repeatedly crossed. But the depth of this problem is much, much deeper than this single issue.

The use of federal tax dollars to control states may be a more persistent and pernicious issue.

As an example, the Department of Transportation allocates funds for states that comply with seat belt laws or speeding limits, but will withhold such funds for states that don’t. The Department of Education allocates taxpayer funds based on the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) goals or other “reforms”, thereby controlling and harmonizing certain aspects of education in the USA across all states. In the example of COVID lock down policies and masking, it is quite clear that the CDC and the NIH have overstepped Federal powers again and again by leveraging Federal Tax Dollars to create perverse financial incentives within hospitals and to promote mis- dis- and malinformation and to promote propaganda in both old and new media. It is time to return to the rule of law, and return the power back to the state to regulate medicine and public health.

States must remember that Federal funding is not the be all, end all. If a state can develop the political will to refuse such funds, sovereignty can be re-established. This requires that plans can be made to mitigate the impact of such an action. These Tax kickbacks are often weaponized in an arbitrary and capricious way by the Federal Executive branch to illegally control state policies, including public health policies. State leaders who are willing to walk away from federal funding, who are willing to work with other states and congress to negotiate better terms for federal dollars, may offer the best hope for breaking this Federal overreach.

This is why the upcoming ruling on Roe v. Wade is so important, as this ruling by the Supreme Court appears to reset the constitutionally correct relationship between the Federal government and the States in a wide range of ways, including regulation of health care. IF they are willing to plan for and mitigate the risks associated with taking back their Constitutionally-granted powers, States can leverage this new ruling to enable something closer to the intended balance of powers. “We the People” need to insist that they do so by electing strong and independent leaders at the state level, leaders who will fight for the right of each state to govern itself as our founding fathers intended. Governor Ron DeSantis and Attorney General Jeff Landry are two leaders leading the fight on this front. We must support them, so that they can continue to restore and protect the Constitutional rights of each State in the Union. Other states will follow their example. I believe that it is critical to the future success of our nation to have these great leaders paving the way, being brave and setting an example for other state leaders to follow, so that the attempts of the Globalist cabal to empower the WHO to subvert Constitutionally-granted States Rights can be thwarted.

The federal government has been intentionally infiltrated by Globalists trained by the World Economic Forum. Make no mistake. The elites and transnational corporations have and continue to undermine our institutions and our very Constitution. President Trump has taught us that we can’t pull our punches, we must act aggressively and give no quarter. That means utilizing every tool available; these tools include using the judicial branch (the courts), working to elect and educate legislators and of course, educating and mobilizing the populace.

Individuals can have a huge role in working to ensure our freedoms, our sovereignty as a nation by writing letters, phoning legislators, publishing independent articles and memes. Even just re-posting on social media can help. We are all in this fight together. Individuals must organize, join groups and organizations, and create new groups and organizations.

Having an independent and free press that can report on our government and institutions is critical. It is how we can help Americans make informed decisions when voting. That means replacing the captured and outdated old media with new media outlets that are censorship free. Using block chain to create new social media outlets that can not be subjected to propaganda and censorship is a good step in the right direction.

Organizing into groups that can work collectively to get the truth out is another way to help save the Sovereignty of our great nation, and that of all of the independent nations of the world. We must fight against the narratives that are being constantly pushed by government agencies that have been subverted by the Globalists. They do not want their corruption exposed. What we have learned over the past two years is that they will do whatever it takes to hide their dirty dealings from the American and world public.

So, get ready patriots – we have a lot of work to do in the coming months. First and foremost – let’s take back the House and Senate in November and flip as many states as possible to RED. We must have as many congress people as possible who are committed and aware that our nation is in danger.

Fire up your engines – and let’s get to work!

Am reading my 17th book on famine. Striking parallels. In famines — lots of fire, arson, and “food accidents.”

Darien Gap will become a main artery to USA. I will be in Dripping Springs today talking on this, and then down to Del Rio and Eagle Pass with my friend, author Todd Bensman.

They're Worried About The Spread Of Information, Not Disinformation

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2022 - 03:20 PM
Authored by Caitlin Johnstone via Medium.com,

We’re in the final countdown to British Home Secretary Priti Patel’s decision on the fate of Julian Assange, with the WikiLeaks founder’s extradition to the United States due to be approved or rejected by the end of the month. Joe Lauria has a new article out with Consortium News on the various pressures that Patel is being faced with from both sides of this history-making issue at this crucial time.

And I can’t stop thinking, as this situation comes to a boil, about how absurd it is that the US empire is working to set a precedent which essentially outlaws information-sharing that the US doesn’t like at the same time western news media are full of hand-wringing headlines about the dangerous threat of “disinformation”.

1653520803316.png

Fairness and Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR) has an article out titled “‘Disinformation’ Label Serves to Marginalize Crucial Ukraine Facts” about the way the mass media have been spinning that label to mean not merely the knowing distribution of false information but also of information that is true but inconvenient to imperial narrative-weaving.
“In defense of the US narrative, corporate media have increasingly taken to branding realities inconvenient to US information goals as ‘disinformation’ spread by Russia or its proxies,” writes FAIR’s Luca Goldmansour.
Online platforms have been ramping up their censorship protocols under the banner of fighting disinformation and misinformation, and those escalations always align with narrative control agendas of the US-centralized empire. Just the other day we learned that Twitter has a new policy which expands its censorship practices to fight “misinformation” about wars and other crises, and the Ukraine war (surprise surprise) will be the first such situation about which it will be enforcing these new censorship policies.

Then there’s the recent controversy over the Department of Homeland Security’s “Disinformation Governance Board,” a mysterious institution ostensibly designed to protect the American people from wrongthink coming from Russia and elsewhere. The board’s operations (whatever they were) have been “paused” pending a review which will be led by Michael Chertoff, a virulent swamp monster and torture advocate. Its operations will likely be resumed in one form or another, probably under the leadership of someone with a low profile who doesn’t sing show tunes about disinformation.

And this all comes out after US officials straight up told the press that the Biden administration has been deliberately sowing disinformation to the public using the mainstream press in order to win an infowar against the Kremlin. They’ve literally just been circulating completely baseless stories about Russia and Ukraine, but nobody seems to be calling for the social media accounts of Biden administration officials to be banned.

1653520854426.png

You see so many discrepancies between what the oligarchic empire says and what it actually does regarding the issue of disinformation because the empire has no problem with disinformation.

The empire that is built on propaganda and lies has no problem with propaganda and lies. It has a problem with the truth.

They’re not worried about disinformation, they’re worried about information. They’re worried about journalists using the unprecedented information-sharing power of the internet to reveal inconvenient facts about the largest and most murderous power structure on earth.

They’re worried about people finding out that they’ve been lied to their entire lives about their world, their nation and their government. They’re worried about people using their newly connected minds to decide together that they don’t much like the status quo as it’s been laid out for them, and deciding to build a new one.

All the safeguards they’re setting up now to manipulate the flow of information online are not there to eliminate lies, they’re there to eliminate truth. These people have a vested interest in keeping things dark and confused, and we the ordinary people of the world have a vested interest in shining a big inconvenient spotlight on everything. The elite agenda to keep things endarkened is at direct odds with the people’s agenda to get things enlightened.

We are not being protected by a compassionate alliance of corporations and governments who only want us to know the truth, we are being manipulated and oppressed by an oligarchic empire that wants us to believe lies. That’s why they’re locking up Assange, that’s why they’re censoring the internet, that’s why they’re filling our minds with propaganda, and that’s why we can’t let them win.

Senators Demand All Internal Records On Biden 'Ministry Of Truth'

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2022 - 11:45 AM
Authored by Steve Watson via Summit News,

Five Senators have demanded that the Biden administration turn over all internal records relating to the now mothballed Department of Homeland Security Disinformation Governance Board, dubbed the ‘Ministry of Truth’ by critics.

The Senators sent a joint letter Monday to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas noting “We write to request immediate access to all records and communications related to the Department of Homeland Security’s new Disinformation Governance Board.”

The letter further explained “We are therefore demanding transparency into the Department’s decision-making process so that we can learn why the Department ever thought creating a disinformation board would be a good idea.”

It also takes aim at Mayorkas for testifying that he had no idea about the “long history of partisan public statements” of Nina Jankowicz, the person who the DHS head placed in charge of the disinformation scheme.

“On May 4, 2022, you testified before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee about the creation of this new board and accepted sole responsibility for appointing Nina Jankowicz as its Executive Director. Surprisingly, you testified that you were not aware of her long history of partisan public statements,” the letter notes.

The Senators included a list of demands for the DHS to provide:
a. written or recorded communications concerning the formation of the Board;
b. the agenda or minutes from any meeting at which the Board’s formation was discussed;
c. any legal review to determine whether the activities of the Board would be authorized by the Constitution of the United States;
d. any communications or records about the individuals who would be recruited to serve on the Board;
e. any communications concerning the appointment of an executive director for the Board; and
f. any communications with the White House about the formation of the Board or appointment of officials to serve on the Board.
The Senators who put their names to the letter are Josh Hawley (MO), Rick Scott (FL), Rand Paul (KY), Ron Johnson (WI) and James Lankford (OK).

As we noted last week, it appears the disinformation board is only on hold because it was exposed, with some warning that the scheme likely will return in stealth.

Mayorkas has picked former DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff to replace the thoroughly compromised Jankowicz and to lead a “thorough review” of the scheme.

ESG Crusade On Backburner As World Grapples With Actual Energy Crisis

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2022 - 10:25 AM
By Tsvetana Paraskova of OilPrice.com

The ESG investment momentum has run up against energy supply disruptions since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. As shareholders at the biggest energy companies are asked to vote - again - on various climate resolutions, many investors continue to call for more transparent and detailed plans for how firms intend to align with the Paris Agreement goals. Others, such as the world’s top asset manager, BlackRock, expect to support fewer shareholder proposals this AGM season compared to 2021 as it finds that climate-related shareholder proposals have become unduly more prescriptive and micromanaging.

Sure, large institutional investors are not abandoning the ESG trend or insistence that companies need to be prepared to change as the energy transition progresses. But some, including BlackRock, acknowledge the current energy market pressures and the need for investment in both traditional and renewable energy sources.

Fund managers want companies to double down on the energy transition, which has become an even more urgent topic of conversation after the Russian war in Ukraine and Europe’s subsequent struggles to cut—and ultimately eliminate—its dependence on Russian fossil fuels.

Yet, energy security and economic stability in the short term appear to override the longer-term drive to accelerate the transition toward green energy sources.

Investors are also looking to shift their focus onto actual outcomes instead of on simplified ESG ratings that are based on policy statements.

BlackRock: Investment In Both Traditional And Renewable Energy Needed
BlackRock said in early May that “many of the climate-related shareholder proposals coming to a vote in 2022 are more prescriptive or constraining on companies and may not promote long-term shareholder value.”

“Importantly, in the context of voting on shareholder proposals regarding climate-related risk, companies face particular challenges in the near term, given under-investment in both traditional and renewable energy, exacerbated by current geo-political tensions,” BlackRock Investment Stewardship (BIS) said.

“This set of dynamics will — at least in the short- and medium-term — drive a need for companies that invest in both traditional and renewable sources of energy and we believe the companies that do that effectively will produce attractive returns for our clients.”

That’s why BlackRock is likely to back proportionately fewer climate-related resolutions this proxy season than in 2021, as it does not consider them to be consistent with its clients’ long-term financial interests, the asset manager said.

Doubling Down On Energy Transition
Still, investors are not backing down on seeking active engagement with companies and demanding detailed, credible energy-transition plans.

“The way out of the situation we currently find ourselves in is not to abandon the energy transition but to double down,” Nick Stansbury, head of climate solutions at the UK’s largest fund manager, Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), told the Financial Times.

Last month, LGIM said in its ‘Active Ownership’ report for 2021 that “We believe voting against a company is a powerful tool to express our views and concerns on key thematic issues such as climate change and diversity, as part of our ‘engagement with consequences’ approach.”

LGIM welcomed in its report “positive steps” taken by ExxonMobil to commit to net-zero emissions for operated assets by 2050, as well as BP’s strengthened climate targets announced in February 2022.

“We engaged with BP’s senior executives on six occasions in 2021 as they develop their climate transition strategy to ensure alignment with Paris goals. Following constructive engagements with the company, we were pleased to learn about the recent strengthening of BP’s climate targets, announced in a press release on 8 February 2022, together with the commitment to become a net-zero company by 2050 – an ambition we expect to be shared across the oil and gas sector as we aim to progress towards a low-carbon economy.”

Change Of Focus
Investors are also increasingly looking to affect change in the companies they are invested in, rather than just picking firms with the best ESG scores on paper.

“What do ESG scores tell us about anything?” Ben Caldecott, director of the UK Centre for Greening Finance and Investment, told FT. “They are mainly measuring processes and policies — if a company has a policy in place against deforestation it will get a good score, even if it is deforesting.”

Others are shifting focus to the industries that use the energy produced by oil and gas companies. For example, the Church of England Pensions Board said earlier this month that after co-leading the investor process to establish the first Net Zero Standard for the oil and gas sector, it is shifting focus this year to industry sectors.

“This will see the Board step down from leading engagement with Shell and begin co-leading engagement with Europe’s largest car manufacturers, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, and Volkswagen,” the board said.

“If the demand for energy doesn’t change, those companies that are supplying it won’t change.
We have developed an exacting global net zero standard for the oil and gas sector, which companies that wish to retain their social license can implement. Ultimately those same companies’ ability to deliver on their targets will largely be shaped by a change in demand for oil and gas from sectors like autos, aviation and shipping” said Adam Matthews, Chief Responsible Investment Officer at the Church of England Pensions Board.

However, with energy security concerns front and center and governments prioritizing energy supply in the biggest energy market shock in decades, demand for oil and gas is set to rise in the short term, while chronic underinvestment would plague supply in the medium term.

US Middle Class Is Shutting Down As Spending By The Rich Remains Robust

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2022 - 06:32 AM

After dismal earnings by such mammoth retailers as Walmart, Targets and this morning's "horror report" by Abercrombie and Fitch, on Tuesday afternoon we actually got a solid report by Nordstrom, which not only printed strong earnings but also hiked guidance sending the stock higher as much as 12%.

What was behind the divergence? Simple: as JPMorgan writes in its trading desk market recap, JWN earnings highlighted the divergence among consumer spending by income brackets.

Picking up on this, Bloomberg's Felice Maranz writes that the latest earnings and comments from big-bank executives reinforce the view that while spending by lower and middle America may be falling off a cliff, spending by well-off US consumers is still robust, with scant sign of a pull-back.

Bloomberg also points to department store Nordstrom which is jumping after the bell after boosting its revenue and earnings outlook. The company, unlike so many of its peers who have seen their stocks crater following Q1 earnings, said core categories in 1Q -- including men’s and women’s apparel and shoes - saw strong growth with shoppers “refreshing” wardrobes for social events, travel and going back to offices.

And since the wealthy are far less impacted by rising prices in the core staples basket, there were no signs of a hit from inflation either, as merchandise margins for the likes of Nordstrom improved due to pricing and lower markdowns. That followed an earlier beat from that other upper/aspirational-class targeting retailer, Ralph Lauren, which was also able to raise prices, helped by resilient, affluent customers, as well as from electronics retailer Best Buy.

Meanwhile over in Davos, BofA CEO Brian Moynihan said US consumers (at least the rich ones) have money to spend and were unlikely be deterred by inflation and economic gloom. That’s similar to JPMorgan chief Jamie Dimon’s reassuring remarks on Monday.

The price of a new home - also a type of a luxury good - rose in April as well as prices surged while transactions tumbled as the middle (and lower) class is increasingly shut out of home purchases...

.... with the bulk of buying taking place at the ultra high end as seen by the record divergence between average and median home prices...

... though as Bloomberg warns, there are questions about how long that divergence can continue as inflation and higher mortgage rates squeeze all American households.

Narrative Compliant, Triple Vaxxed & Over $100k in WEF Fees
A conference for the ruling class, by the ruling class
By Jordan Schachtel
The Dossier

May 25, 2022

Say you’re a private citizen or investigative journalist and you wanted to attend The World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual Davos meeting, and join the ranks of the hundreds of executives and world leaders who parachute into the city every year.

Surely, the nonprofit’s government funded annual gathering of governmental and business leaders would want to be transparent and open to public scrutiny, right? Wrong!

Unless you happen to be the head of state of a country or a government official from a powerful nation, you’re not getting into Davos without paying up.

To even be eligible to receive your prized invitation to the Annual Meeting in Davos, one must purchase an organizational membership package to the World Economic Forum. This includes the purported journalists in attendance, who, through their employers, pay the WEF to “partner” with them on events in Davos.

The WEF will ideologically screen potential invites for rogue opinions, and “science deniers” (those who reject the climate hoax) will be screened out.

For the WEF to even consider a candidate for a Davos invite, they must first be affiliated with an organization that is willing to pay for membership and partnership fees that range from 60,000 to 600,000 Swiss francs, which currently convert to about $62,500 to $625,000 USD. And according to The WEF website, “Davos participation incurs a fee over and above membership or partnership fees.”

US NatGas Prices Top $9, Hit 2008 Highs As EU 'Convergence' Accelerates

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2022 - 05:15 AM
U.S. natural gas futures hit highs not seen since 2008 amid EU export demand, serious concerns of a sweltering summer, and the possibility stockpiles might not be refilled ahead of the heating season.

Futures for June delivery were up over 2%, topping $9...

...for the first time since August 2008

Prices for this time of year have never been higher except for 2008.

One driver of soaring prices is supply tightness. Weather forecasters predict a summer of heatwaves that could force households and businesses to crank up their air conditioners.

There's also the concern about power grid strains where hydroelectricity and coal supplies are limited, which will increase the use of natgas power generation.

A surge in natgas demand this summer could result in the inability of U.S. stockpiles to replenish ahead of the heating season.
"It isn't about winter demand outlooks -- it's about summer refill outlooks," Gary Cunningham, a director at Tradition Energy, told Bloomberg.
Another sign of market tightness is seen as July futures trade at a premium over next February futures, the first time in nearly two decades.

There's also concern natgas production is not rising fast enough to meet growing demand:
"In the last month, there has not been a meaningful uptick in U.S. lower 48 states production.
"You're seeing exports running full out on LNG; power burn from the power sector is really strong and layer in the heat we're seeing and the expectation that the southern tier of the continent in May and June will see well above normal temperatures. That's a recipe for higher prices," Matt Palmer, senior director North American natural gas at S&P Global Commodity Insights, told CNBC.
As US LNG demand soars to cover Europe's shortfall, higher US prices have resulted in the compressing of E.U.-U.S. natgas spread (1mo ahead vs futs).

And in fact, US NatGas futures are now trading at a premium to Day-Ahead EU NatGas prices for the first time in more than one year.

We suspect by summer, Americans who favored exporting natgas to Europe would regret their decision due to high electricity bills.

And how will the Biden administration fix this problem? Can't keep blaming Putin.

ESG Heresy Triggers Shock & Horror... And About Time!

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2022 - 03:30 AM
Authored by Bill Blain via MorningPorridge.com,

“Life always finds a way…”

HSBC is being pilloried for comments made by its’ ESG head, but what he said is worthy of consideration. Overly emotional ESG is a distortion that may be as dangerous as climate change denial.

Perhaps the most remarkable thing about Stuart King, the “global head of responsible investing” at HSBC, is that’s he a bloke with a grey beard… Kirk and his ilk are a critically endangered species in The City these days.. and about to become even more so after his inflammatory comments to an FT conference last week.…

Kirk is was an HSBC executive until being suspended for daring to suggest the whole ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) debate has become a tad over-emotional and vulnerable to distortion and hyperbole. Naturally, the ESG industry has kicked into high gear moral indignation, shocked and horrified at his comments. I will be surprised if he isn’t sued for the emotional hurt, pain, distress and damage he’s inflicted on ESG professionals.

Yet, Kirk is a smart guy – he’s the former editor of the FT’s Lex column and had responsibility at HSCB for ESG and new green product development.

Let me stress: I wasn’t there but I have watched his speech on the FT website. Its actually very interesting, thought-provoking, and well worth a listen no matter how much you might disagree with what you’ve read in the press about it.

It will make you think – and its about time we did more of that when it comes to preparing for the consequences of climate change.

Most of Kirk’s speech was pushing against overly-emotional doom-mongers, like a lady from Deloitte called Sharon. Kirk noted that when she told the audience climate change meant everyone in the room was dead, most didn’t even look up from their mobile phones. He also criticised some chap called Mark, a former central banker who is making a fairly good living jetting round the world to spread climate hyperbole. Kirk got a decent clap at the end of his 15 minute pre-coffee conference slot.

For some reason I can’t quite fathom, I tend not to get invited to ESG and sustainability conferences. It doesn’t seem to matter how many times I say I absolutely agree with the science of global warming, or environmental damage must be addressed, but apparently the BBC has me down as a climate change denier because I suggested wind-farms ain’t all they are presented to be when it comes to reliability and power to the grid.

The quotes that have appeared on Kirk’s slot have been selective and contextualised. The media has been delighted by the shocked hysterical comments from the ESG high church of woke.

Having watched Kirk on the Video, I doubt he will do the usual banker-caught-with-finger-in-till thing by stepping up later today, making a cringe-worthy apology for his comments.. and resigning in shame. He will, of course, be sacked… for putting his employer at risk by daring to question the hyperbole around ESG.

Naturally, HSBC’s leadership cadre has reacted with horror and shock – even though the speech was approved 2 months ago and has been sitting (unread?) on the company website..

Although Kirk's comments have proved remarkably ill-judged in terms of his career longevity.. they are worth thinking about… The most hyped quote is “who cares if Miami is six meters underwater in 100 years time”, before he explained Amsterdam copes rather well with being below sea-level. He argued that solutions will be found because mankind adapts. He then talked about “nut-jobs telling me about the end of the world.”

And that’s a critical thing. Mankind is inventive and we adapt. We cope. Coping with change is why we thrive. He was quite scathing about climate doomsters and those who have made climate change the core of lucrative careers in finance. Former BoE governor Mark Carney was quoted in a slide entitled “Unsubstantiated, shrill, partisan, self-serving, apocalyptic warnings as ALWAYS wrong.” Spot on, or as I say: “things are never as bad as you fear, but seldom as good as you hope.”

Kirk’s focus was on how we adapt. He said:
One of the tragedies of this whole debate, which we obsess about at HSBC, is that we spend way too much on mitigation and financing and not enough on adaption financing.”
Spot on. Agree with him. I have written too many times in the Morning Porridge about the lack of joined up thinking; like trying to make wind farms without steel (which requires metallurgical coal), or how tidal is a much more reliable, but more expensive solution than wind.

But, what was Kirk’s crime..?
He has caused a massive problem for his employer. HSBC might make big profits and have plenty of capital, but its desperately short of banking credibility. The fact it’s being taken to the UK advertising authority for Greenwashing is revealing. Analysts have questioned its ESG culture, governance, ambition and stewardship in the wake of Kirk’s comments. Others have slammed its “fiduciary duty towards clients” if its investing in non ESG projects without a primary concern for saving them from climate change.

Blah, blah, blah..

For years I’ve been warning about ESG distortions. I absolutely believe in mitigating carbon emissions and addressing climate change – but in a clear, transparent, considered and well-thought out way. The path to transiting the global economy from Fossil Fuels to clean renewables needs to be planned and considered – not emotional.

Kirk was talking about exactly the same thing. There is a substantial danger that ESG is over-emotional. That is causing distortion. We need to focus on not only addressing climate change, but also keeping the global economy on track. The key priorities today should be market risks as stocks head into bear territory, and the looming stagflationary collapse that is coming on the back of consumer cost of living crisis.

Last week I wrote about how dismal Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey’s appearance in Parliament was. He was acting like the institutionalised insider he is – almost joshing with this fellow members of the establishment about the consequences of stagnation on the economy and the coming food apocalypse.

Around the Financial Markets and the City of London, senior financial players are concerned about Bailey’s tone, and wonder who is advising him on recession, inflation and economic pain.

Yet, its no secret The Bank’s best and brightest economists and thinkers are not working on how to boost the economy, the coming consumer and housing meltdown, but have all been put in purdah to consider “climate change”.

Climate change is real, and it could be addressed by the markets to innovate, build and launch solutions… but what we have today is hysterical ESG distortions – which are as much responsible for the West’s energy crisis as Putin!

World Health Organization Deploys Another Disease Threat to Push Global Survelliance

BY JOHN MAC GHLIONN MAY 25, 2022 POLICY 5 MINUTE READ

The threat posed by monkeypox is real, very real. Or is it?

According to Dr. Robert Malone, not really. But you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise.

The way in which the virus is being covered, Malone recently noted, “provides a classical example of public health fearporn.”

CNN, one of the many outlets breathlessly covering the virus, “should be reprimanded for broadcasting irresponsible propaganda—misinformation and disinformation—under the guise of journalism,” wrote Malone. In his opinion, this virus and disease, “which is endemic in Africa,” is “readily controlled by classical public health measures.”

More importantly, it “does not [emphasis mine] have a high mortality rate.” This insignificant biothreat “has never been considered a high threat pathogen in the past.”

Malone finished by asking the media and so-called medical experts to “stop the fear mongering, misinformation and disinformation.”

Malone’s request has been ignored, with doctors around the world telling us to prepare for the worst. President Joe Biden has also joined the chorus of doomsayers. Not surprisingly, the World Health Organization (WHO) is also making noise.

More worryingly, the WHO is making moves, and these moves could have profound effects on billions of people around the world, including those residing in the United States.

The New Panopticon
On May 20, the WHO held an “emergency meeting” to discuss monkeypox.

As Reuters reported, members of the WHO’s Strategic and Technical Advisory Group on Infectious Hazards with Pandemic and Epidemic Potential (STAG-IH), “which advises on infection risks that could pose a global health threat,” will soon decide whether or not “the outbreak should be declared a public health emergency of international concern.”

As the aforementioned Dr. Malone noted, it shouldn’t. But don’t be surprised if the WHO thinks otherwise.

Members of the WHO, one of the most powerful agencies in the world, are currently working on a new pandemic prevention and preparedness treaty. The drafting progress will continue for the next few months. Then, on Aug. 1, members will meet to discuss the progress made. Next year, at the 76th World Health Assembly (WHA), they will deliver the report. If everything goes to plan, then changes will take effect two years from now.

What Sort of Changes?
According to authors at Reclaim the Net, a website dedicated to defending free speech and calling out bureaucratic overreach, we should brace ourselves for draconian changes. It must be noted that the authors at Reclaim allegedly managed to get their hands on a working draft of the WHO’s plans, so the following warnings could carry a great deal of weight.

Reclaim warns that the WHA, the decision-making body of WHO, “aims to have this treaty adopted under Article 19 of the WHO Constitution.” If successful, this will give “the WHA the power to impose legally binding conventions or agreements on WHO member states if two-thirds of the WHA vote in favor of them.” To put that sentence in context: There are 195 countries in the world; the WHO has 194 member states.

The WHO has framed this treaty “as an international pandemic treaty.” However, the draft obtained by Reclaim shows that the accord has actually evolved to cover all manner of “health emergencies.”

The WHO defines a public health emergency as a situation that “carries implications for public health beyond the affected state’s national border” and “may require immediate international action.”

The definition is vague, perhaps by design, allowing those in charge to push any agenda, no matter how nefarious.

Again, as authors at Reclaim warned, such an all-encompassing treaty would give the WHO “sweeping, legally binding powers to force member states to adopt many of the censorship and surveillance tools that were imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

International vaccine passports are not out of the question. In fact, as the draft outlines, member states will be legally required to fully “support the development of standards for producing a digital version of the International Certificate of Vaccination and Prophylaxis.”

Moreover, the WHO will seek to normalize the use of “digital technology applications” for all international travel. If you are imagining contact tracing apps and extensive, self-declaration health forms, then you are imagining correctly.

Of course, vaccine passports and contact tracing are intimately tied to surveillance. More specifically, global surveillance. As the draft notes, the WHO will carry out “coordinated global surveillance of public health threats.” This can only be achieved by member states, all 194 of them, expanding their surveillance systems and contributing to “the WHO’s global systems for surveillance.”

The authors at Reclaim stress that non-state actors, which “could include Big Tech companies,” will “also be required to work with governments, the WHO, and other international partners.”

Why? To “leverage their considerable data to “create the strongest possible early warning and response systems.”

As mentioned earlier, Dr. Malone has passionately called for an end to the spread of misinformation and disinformation. The draft treaty also calls for the same. The report’s authors urge members to support a globally coordinated attempt “to address the misinformation, disinformation, and stigmatization that undermine public health.”

Considering the WHO has a history of spreading false information, the call to “address” the problem seems, at best, disingenuous. All things considered, however, disingenuous messaging should be the least of our concerns here. If the current draft becomes a reality, the light from the panopticon will shine even brighter. There will be nowhere to hide. Vaccine passports will be the norm, and our right to privacy, or at least some degree of privacy, will become but a distant memory.

Report Shows FBI Spied on 3.3 Million Americans Without a Warrant, GOP Demands Answers
By Joseph Lord

May 25, 2022 Updated: May 25, 2022

Top House Republicans are demanding answers from the FBI after court-ordered information came to light showing that the federal agency had collected the information of over 3 million Americans without a warrant.

In a May 25 letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Mike Turner (R-Ohio) asked Wray to explain why his agency had wiretapped and gathered personal information on over 3.3 million Americans without a warrant (pdf).

Limited authority to gather foreign intelligence information is granted by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

Specifically, section 702 of the bill says: “the Attorney General (AG) and the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) may jointly authorize the targeting of (i) non-U.S. persons (ii) who are reasonably believed to be outside of the United States (iii) to acquire foreign intelligence information.”

However, this power can grant an expanding circle of possible searches to the FBI and other intel agencies, who can use the same power against American citizens who had any interaction with targeted foreigners.

Historically, insight into how FISA has been used against American citizens has been limited and hidden behind classified reports.

However, a November 2020 decision by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC)—which serves as a watchdog for U.S. intelligence agencies—required that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) report “the number of U.S. person queries run by the FBI against Section 702-acquired information.”

In accordance with these new requirements, ODNI’s recently-released Annual Statistical Transparency Report included data on how often the FBI gathered information on American citizens using section 702 in 2021.

In total, queries against U.S. citizens came out to a jaw-dropping 3,394,053 searches. By comparison, only 1,324,057 such queries were made in 2020, representing around a 250 percent increase during President Joe Biden’s first year in office.

According to ODNI more than half of these queries—approximately 1.9 million—were part of the larger investigation of alleged Russian attempts to target or weaken U.S. critical infrastructure.

The ODNI report also admitted that on at least four occasions, the FBI failed to get FISC approval before accessing the contents of information collected under section 702.

This is not the first time the FBI has been caught red-handed overstepping its legal authority under section 702.

In November 2020, the FISC announced that “the government … reported numerous incidents” in which the FBI reviewed information gathered under section 702 without obtaining proper permission from the court.

On other occasions, the FISC noted, the FBI used section 702 for issues entirely unrelated to foreign intelligence. These included queries for criminal investigations about healthcare fraud, transnational organized crime, violent gangs, domestic terrorism involving racially motivated violent extremists, as well as investigations relating to public corruption and bribery.”

“None of these queries was related to national security, and they returned numerous Section 702-acquired products in response,” the FISC noted.

“Rigorous Congressional oversight of the FBI’s Section 702-related activities is essential given FBI’s track record utilizing its FISA authorities,” Jordan and Turner ruled in view of the FBI’s past overreach.

In their letter to Wray, Jordan and Turner laid out a laundry list of questions about the report, demanding further transparency and explanations on the revelation that the FBI has often overstepped its legal authority to spy on American citizens.

Among other questions, they requested a full accounting of all 3,394,053 citizens who showed up in FBI queries and “[the] number of preliminary or full investigations into any U.S. citizens the FBI has initiated as a result of information obtained through any of these U.S. person queries, and the nature of the predication for each such investigation.”

They also asked for information on the 1.9 million Americans queried over alleged Russian efforts to compromise U.S. critical infrastructure. Specifically, they asked for, “The rationale for why these queries were found to be compliant with the FBI’s Section 702 querying procedures [and the] total number of U.S. citizens the FBI identified as victims of these compromises(s) pursuant to these queries.”

In addition, they demanded “A detailed statement about the FBI’s investigation, including the status of the investigation and any information uncovered about the identity of the Russian actors and their involvement with or connection to the Russian government, if any.”

Additionally, they asked for information gathered under FISA rules in the years between 2015 and 2020, as well as for an explanation of the FBI’s overreach of authority on various occasions.
The letter demands that Wray provide a written response by no later than 5 p.m. on June 7.

FISA Section 702 was last authorized by Congress for a six-year period in 2018 and will be up for reauthorization in 2024.

The FBI could not be immediately reached for comment.

Russia To Open Sea Corridors From Ukraine Ports Amid Wheat Crisis, But Warns Of Ukrainian Mines

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2022 - 06:20 PM

After being accused of using the food supply as blackmail and a bargaining chip, Russia said Wednesday its military will open up protected sea corridors for international shipping to pass through from seven Ukrainian ports that have thus far been blockaded.

According to a defense ministry statement reported by Bloomberg late in the day, "Humanitarian maritime corridors from ports on the Black Sea and Azov Sea, including Odesa, will operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily."

Black Sea port of Constanta, Romania recently had a drifting mine nearby. Image: Alamy

The announcement comes two days after the head of the United Nations World Food Program David Beasley ripped Moscow for what he dubbed a "declaration of war" on global food security. He's been urging "political solution" to the crisis of blocked Black Sea ports, saying the war in 'the world's breadbasket' threatens to unleash "famine, the destabilization of nations as well as mass migration by necessity." Millions of people in 43 countries dependent on grain from the war-torn region are "knocking on famine’s door," he said.

However, Russia has stressed that its military is engaged in extensive and complex demining operations due thousands of mines dotting Ukraine's coast placed by Ukrainian forces, making international shipping dangerous and impossible. As reported in the independent Moscow Times:
The port of Mariupol has resumed normal operations, Russia's Defense Ministry announced Wednesday.
The Defense Ministry said Black Sea Fleet specialists cleared more than 12,000 mines from the seaport and its surrounding areas.
Some one-third of global wheat supplies originate from Ukraine and Russia, with the bulk of it passing through the Black Sea.

On Wednesday Russia said it remains ready and willing to work with the West to reach a solution, but that easing sanctions is a necessity:
"We have repeatedly stated on this point that a solution to the food problem requires a comprehensive approach, including the lifting of sanctions that have been imposed on Russian exports and financial transactions," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko was quoted as saying by Interfax.
But the statement called on Ukraine to cease deployment of sea mines, and to engage in immediate demining operations: "And it also requires the demining by the Ukrainian side of all ports where ships are anchored. Russia is ready to provide the necessary humanitarian passage, which it does every day," Rudenko added.

1653539291144.png

He further warned against such plans that have been floated lately by Lithuania and the UK which involve foreign military naval escorts accompanying cargo ships. Interfax quoted him as saying such a scenarios would "seriously exacerbate the situation in the Black Sea."

Also, addressing ongoing accusations that Russia is stealing Ukrainian grain and other food sources, he stressed to reporters: "We completely reject this. We don't steal anything from anyone."

Regarding mines, NATO in a message this month warned all commercial traffic in the Black Sea of the growing danger of drifting mines as spillover from the Russia-Ukraine war. "The latest statement of regional authorities, confirming another sighting of a mine, shows the threat of drifting mines in the Southwest part of the Black Sea still exists," a May 13 NATO shipping advisory said.

1653539354414.png

"An additional stray mine was detected and deactivated on 06 of April 2022 in the Southwestern part of the Black Sea. National authorities stated that the searches for mine-like objects are ongoing. The threat of more drifting mines cannot be ruled out," it warned.

Consumers Face Summer Of Hell As Power Bill Costs Set To Jump

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2022 - 05:00 PM

The last thing consumers want to hear is an increase in power costs this summer following the news last week of rising threats of rolling blackouts across half of the US.

Tight supplies of natural gas, crude, and coal have pushed up residential electricity rates this year. A nationwide weather outlook for this summer forecasts extreme heat -- all of this will force households to crank up their air conditions, resulting in oversized power demand that could stress national grids.

Bloomberg cites new data from Barclays Plc that says monthly power bills could be 40% more than last year's. The US Energy Information Administration expects retail residential electricity rates to increase the most since 2008.

Data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics shows Miami households spent 38% more on energy in April than a year ago. Power prices in the state have jumped due to the rising cost of natgas.
"Our continued overreliance on gas only sets us up for these burdensome and unnecessary rate increases.
"This business model is unsustainable, and it's hurting people," said Natalia Brown of Catalyst Miami, a nonprofit consumer advocacy group.
Besides Miami, parts of Hawaii, Dallas, Minneapolis, Boston, Philadelphia, New York, and San Francisco recorded the highest increases in retail electricity costs last month.

Barclays analyst Srinjoy Banerjee said the average residential power bills averaged $122 in April. He pointed out that power bills could raise another $49 due to natgas prices soaring over $8 per million British thermal units.

Consumers can't escape the inflation storm that only suggests a summer of hell is ahead. Gasoline and diesel prices are at a record, food prices are screaming higher, homes and cars are unaffordable, and real wage growth is negative.

Banerjee said the inflation burden "disproportionately falls on lower-income groups."

In California, higher costs for electricity and less reliable electric grids mean consumers will pay on average 25% more this summer, according to Cisco DeVries, chief executive officer of OhmConnect Inc., which helps households save money by remotely adjusting thermostats.

The cost of everything is rising and has pushed consumers to the brink. Many have maxed out credit cards and drained critical savings to survive this terrible economic backdrop of what appears to be stagflation which could quickly morph into a Federal Reserve-induced recession due to aggressive interest rate hikes.

Then there's the risk of rolling blackouts across the Great Lakes to the West Coast due to tight power supplies may not be able to satisfy demand amid a megadrought.

Some Americans could get a nasty dose of high inflation and power blackouts, similar to life in Venezuela.

Stellantis CEO Warns Of Impending EV Battery Shortage As 'Greenification' Hits Snag

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2022 - 04:20 PM

The latest sign the rapid transition to a green economy could soon hit a snag is a warning from the world's fourth-largest carmaker about an approaching electric vehicle (EV) battery shortage.

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares expects a shortage of EV batteries by 2024-25, according to CNBC. He then said the adoption of EVs by 2027-28 will slow due to a lack of raw materials for vehicles.
"The speed at which we are trying to move all together for the right reason, which is fixing the global warming issue, is so high that the supply chain and the production capacities have no time to adjust," Tavares said.
President Biden's ambitious target of 50% EV sale shares in the U.S. by 2030 could hit a brick wall unless domestic supply chains are strengthened and raw materials for battery-making are adequately sourced.

Tavares said new EV regulations to phase out traditional internal combustion are too aggressive and urged lawmakers to stop moving targets for EVs forward.

He expects a battery shortage will first emerge and then a lack of raw materials for the vehicles.
"You'll see that the electrification path, which is a very ambitious one, in a time window that has been set by the administrations is going to bump on the supply side," the CEO added, who runs the world's fourth-largest carmaker, with brands such as Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati, and others.
A shortage of batteries and raw materials will drive the spread of EV-combustion average car prices even wider. The average cost of an EV is around $60k, versus $46k for all other vehicles.

That's a difference of $14k. The spread will continue to widen as battery costs increase, thus making EVs unaffordable for most people.

And it's not just EVs that could soon run into trouble. Greenify the nation's power grid could result in power shortfalls across the western half of the US because grid operators have removed too much power capacity through retiring fossil fuel power plants and have yet to bring enough solar and wind to satisfy the increasing demand. This may trigger a summer of power blackouts.

What's deeply depressing is that elected and unelected officials forcing this green transition have taken no accountability for their actions upon mishaps. Thank the billionaires at Davos for this mess, who want the masses to own nothing, drive EVs, and eat bugs.

Def Fluid & Fertilizer Shortage As Countries Stop Urea Exports (Hotshot Trucking Will Suffer)

May 26, 2022

Def Fluid & Fertilizer Shortage As Countries Stop Urea Exports (Hotshot Trucking Will Suffer).

(Guest Chris: DEF is 67% urea and 33% distilled water. It is a required exhaust additive in most diesel trucks after 2010. There is a sensor that will render the truck virtually non-operative if it runs low. Russia is the largest exporter of Urea followed by Qatar, then Egypt and China. Russia and China have decided to stop exportation. India is the largest manufacturer but they consume most of what they make. They are now stopping exportation of all urea - except for a deal with Sri Lanka.

Ninja: China is stopping it because urea is needed for fertilizer. We just saw a large amount of potash destroyed in the 42 car train accident in Canada and it will take a lot of time to recover it.

Chris: The US imports most of its urea fertilizer. We are the third largest importer in the world. Flying J is the largest service provider for trucks in the US. Flying J gets 70% of their DEF via the Union Pacific Railroad. UP has single user access to the plants where urea comes from. No other RR has access to the distribution points. Flying J can't just go around UP. Flying J provides 30% of all DEF consumed in the US. UP has told Flying J to reduce their shipments by 50%.

Ninja: UP is having problems shipping things because of shortages in engineers/staff.

Chris: If Flying J does not comply, it will be completely embargoed, which could bankrupt them. This means that 20% of the DEF supply is no loner available. .

Dr. Robert Malone: Successfully alerting the world to the power grab
Bannons War Room Published May 26, 2022

(Bannon 30 million vax doses of Moderna dumped.

Malone: Modern is in trouble because it virtually stole technology from patent holders in British Columbia, Canada. Also Moderna vax not as safe and probably not as effective as Pfizer. So the rest of the world knows it's an inferior product.

Bannon: WHO and Bill Gates and the Pandemic Treaty at Davos.

Malone: He's cautiously optimistic. 11 out of 12 [12 out of 13?] of the US Amendments were removed from consideration. Several world leaders scheduled for DAVOS did not appear. He thinks that we have successfully started to alert the world to this power grab the globalists are trying to pull on us. He was particularly heartened by the outcry in Africa about the loss of sovereignty and autonomy in the African nations. He thinks all over the world, independent nation states are recognizing what is going on.

Bannon: Deutsche Telekom/T mobile has already announced at Davos its work on the digital vaccine passport.

Malone: He has had so many people tell him that T mobile is censoring access to what he is putting out - documents and links. They are obviously working with the globalists. We have done a good job, but we have to be on them like flies on [manure] They are relentless.

Noor Bin Ladin: The United States must leave the WHO
Bannons War Room Published May 26, 2022

(Bannon: What kind of institutions are we dealing with here?

Noor: The United States must leave the WHO. This entire performative Assembly meeting this week is exactly that: performative. Everything is opaque. These are merely some hearings put out to give the illusion of some democratic process where the public is involved. We don't know how they're going to reach their goal. There are these 2 tracks going on; Amendments to the International Health Regulations and this treaty - i.e. the Pandemic Treaty, but it is not limited to pandemics. It includes health emergencies.

Regardless of the form it will take, the aim is very clear. They have this specific goal that they want to reach. They decided they were going to use the WHO. They decided they were going to use "health emergencies." The aim is extend, consolidate and centralize the powers of the WHO over its member states to supersede and over-ride national laws.

Leave the WHO. It is the best way for countries to retain their national sovereignty whatever avenue the decide to sign on. )

Dr. Naomi Wolf Proven Right On 'Global Vaccine Passports'
Bannons War Room Published May 25, 2022

Dr. Wolf: She is a tech CEO and could tell that this was the way it was going to go. The Treaty that is under discussion now for global public health response that would dissolve our sovereignty - what they say they want is the data. We have been fighting state by state, country by country against vaccine registries. Why has she been fighting so hard about registries and why have they been sneaking them in - because this. The curtain has opened and once they have the data, they can track every one. Then you can have a global social credit system. They can switch people on, switch people off at the drop of a hat.

When the trucker supporters in Canada had their bank accounts switched off, that is an example of what will happen when there is a global vaccine passport. If you say something wrong, if you do something wrong - your account gets switched off. If you want to cross a border or get on public transportation, if you want to go shop for groceries, your pass will either allow you to or not.

The other thing I warned people about - in March of 2021 is that they want it to be digital because people in the tech world think about subscriptions and pay walls. A piece of paper as a "certificate" doesn't expire. They want it to be digital so they can say - your monkey pox vax has expired. All these tech. companies are now invested in Big Pharma. These are all the pieces coming together you could see coming if you knew about digital technology. [Comment: I read that new disease tests send results automatically to the government.] So here we are with this being rolled out for the world at DAVOS.

You are intentionally being overwhelmed by issues/information so you can't keep up with them. When people resist en masse, it disrupts the efforts of these Satanic, tyrannical oligarchs who want to close the box on the human race and keep them under surveillance and tacked through their vaccines forever.

As soon as you show transparency and resistance, they flee because there are so much more of us than them. We can't give up because it is now a pitched battle and it is global. )
