Governor Hochul Announces Series of Universal Mask Requirements to Protect New Yorkers amid Rise of Delta Variant

Face Coverings Now Required at State-Regulated Child Care Facilities for Children Ages Two and Up, All Staff and Visitors

Directs Residential Congregate Programs Operated, Licensed, Certified or Approved by the Office of Children and Family Services to Require Masks for All Staff and Residents

Directs Programs and Facilities Licensed or Registered by Office of Mental Health, Office of Addiction Services and Supports, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, and Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance to Require Masks
Mask Requirements Apply Regardless of Vaccination Status
Governor Kathy Hochul today announced a series of universal mask requirements designed to protect New Yorkers against the highly contagious Delta variant and the recent surge in COVID-19 infections statewide.

The requirement applies to New York State Office of Children and Family Services-licensed and -registered child care centers, home-based group family and family child care programs, after-school child care programs and enrolled legally exempt group programs during operational hours. Implementing the mask regulation in child care programs will provide consistency between child care program children and school children, many of whom often share the same buildings.

New masking requirements will also apply to congregate programs and facilities licensed, registered, operated, certified or approved by the Office of Mental Health, the Office of Addiction Services and Supports, the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities, Office of Children and Family Services and the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance. This includes but is not limited to certified residential and day programs, inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities, substance abuse programs, juvenile detention programs, juvenile residential facilities, congregate foster care programs, runaway and homeless youth, domestic violence and other shelter programs. These requirements apply to anyone medically able to tolerate wearing a mask, regardless of vaccination status.

"With the Delta variant on the rise, requiring masks at state-regulated child care, mental health, and substance abuse facilities is a key part of our broader strategy for slowing the spread of the virus, reopening our economy safely, and protecting vulnerable members of our population," Governor Hochul said. "For children under 12 who are not yet eligible to be vaccinated, masks are the best line of defense against COVID-19 infection. This new mask requirement ensures that children in our child care facilities receive the same protection as children in our schools."

The new mask requirement in child care facilities brings New York State into compliance with federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance issued in July that recommends universal indoor masking for anyone age two and older who has not been vaccinated against COVID-19 and is medically able to wear a mask. It also brings child care facilities in alignment with school masking requirements announced on Governor Hochul's first day in office.

For children under 12 who are not yet eligible to be vaccinated, masks are the best line of defense against COVID-19 infection. This new mask requirement ensures that children in our child care facilities receive the same protection as children in our schools.

Governor Hochul

Because the Delta variant is so highly transmissible, there have been large increases in cases across all age groups. Because children under 12 years of age are not yet eligible to receive the vaccine, there have been large increases in cases among children, which translates to higher numbers of severe cases.

Additional protective measures will help to keep New York's children safe at this important time.

OCFS Commissioner Sheila J. Poole said, "We have heard from many parents and residents of congregate settings asking that the state require masking because child care and congregate residential programs will not require that protection without a state requirement. We want to keep all children and staff in child care programs, as well as staff and residents of congregate residential programs, safe from the spread of infection and wearing a mask is the best tool we have. Children want to be like the adults around them and will easily adapt to the mask wearing requirement."

OMH Commissioner Dr. Ann Sullivan said, "It is clear that masks help control and prevent the spread of infection. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, OMH has issued guidance for our State operated facilities and clinics as well as community-based mental healthcare providers recommending and encouraging the use of masks and other protective measures. I am very pleased that Governor Hochul has taken this step to establish and strengthen mask requirements that will protect healthcare workers, our patients and clients, and our communities from COVID-19."

Governor Hochul holds COVID-19 briefing and makes an announcement - Sept 15, 2021
OASAS Commissioner Arlene González-Sánchez said, "Providing high quality substance use treatment in the safest possible environment has always been at the forefront of OASAS' work, especially during the coronavirus pandemic. These mask requirements will ensure that individuals who are in our care are able to focus on their health and well-being, while protecting themselves and others from COVID-19."

OPWDD Commissioner Theodore Kastner, MS, MD, said, "Ensuring the safety and security of the people we support is our greatest priority and Governor Hochulhas shown her continued commitment towards achieving this goal with her call for universal masking for those who can tolerate masks. As we continue to encourage staff to get the vaccine to keep themselves, their loved ones and the people we support safe, it is also important to continue following protective measures such as masking and other infection control protocols to keep our most vulnerable New Yorkers protected from severe illness or even death from the COVID-19 virus."

OTDA Commissioner Mike Hein said, "We cannot allow our state to slide back to a time when the coronavirus spread through our communities nearly unabated. The science here is clear: Masking is a simple, unobtrusive way to significantly reduce the spread of this virus, including the highly transmissible Delta variant. We applaud Governor Hochul for taking a commonsense approach toward fighting the ongoing pandemic and ensuring those facilities licensed or registered by the state are taking the necessary precautions to keep the people they serve safe."

FDA staff declines to take stance on Pfizer’s Covid vaccine booster shots, citing lack of verified data

  • The FDA staff declined to take a stance on whether to back booster shots of Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine, saying U.S. regulators haven’t verified all the available data.
  • “Overall, data indicate that currently US-licensed or authorized COVID-19 vaccines still afford protection against severe COVID-19 disease and death in the United States,” they wrote in a 23-page document.

The staff of the Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday declined to take a stance on whether to back booster shots of Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine, saying U.S. regulators haven’t verified all the available data.

“There are many potentially relevant studies, but FDA has not independently reviewed or verified the underlying data or their conclusions,” they wrote in a 23-page document published on the agency’s website. “Some of these studies, including data from the vaccination program in Israel, will be summarized during the September 17, 2021 VRBPAC meeting.”

The staff said some observational studies have suggested declining efficacy of the Pfizer vaccine over time against symptomatic infection or against the delta variant, while others have not.

“Overall, data indicate that currently US-licensed or authorized COVID-19 vaccines still afford protection against severe COVID-19 disease and death in the United States,” they wrote.

The data the FDA is looking at includes efficacy numbers out of Israel, where researchers there have released observational studies showing the effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine against infection waned over time.

In separate documents released Wednesday, Pfizer argued a third dose of the Covid vaccine six months after a second shot restores protection from infection to 95%.

FDA staff appeared to take a skeptical tone on the data, as observational studies don’t adhere to the same standards as formal clinical trials.

“It should be recognized that while observational studies can enable understanding of real-world effectiveness, there are known and unknown biases that can affect their reliability,” agency staff said. “Furthermore, US-based studies of post-authorization effectiveness of BNT162b2 may most accurately represent vaccine effectiveness in the US population.”

The staff report is meant to brief the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee, which meets Friday to review Pfizer’s request to approve Covid booster doses for the general public. The documents published offer a glimpse of the agency’s view on third shots.

The Biden administration has said it wants to begin offering booster shots to the general public as early as next week, pending authorization from the FDA. The move is part of President Joe Biden’s broader plan to confront a higher number of Covid cases fueled by the fast-spreading delta variant.

Scientists and other health experts have repeatedly criticized the plan, saying data the federal health officials cited wasn’t compelling and characterizing the administration’s push for boosters as premature.

There is currently not a consensus in the biomedical community on boosters for the general public, said Dan Barouch, an immunologist at Harvard Medical School.

“There are senior experts who fall on different sides of the debate,” he said. “Right now, it’ll be interesting to see where the debate goes, but obviously it is known that the Biden administration has suggested that boosters are needed.”

The Biden administration has cited three studies, released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, that showed the vaccines’ protection against Covid diminished over several months. The administration’s plan, outlined by senior health officials, calls for people to get a third dose eight months after they got their second shot of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. Biden has said scientists were reviewing whether to move the third shot up by three months.

When the administration announced the plan in August, senior health officials said they worried protection against severe disease, hospitalization and death “could” diminish in the months ahead, especially among those who are at higher risk or were vaccinated during the earlier phases of the vaccination rollout.

A group of scientists, including two senior FDA officials and the World Health Organization, published a paper Monday in the journal The Lancet that argued booster shots are not needed at this time for the general public. While Covid vaccine effectiveness against mild disease may wane over time, protection against severe disease appears to persist, the scientists said.

On Tuesday, WHO officials called again for wealthy nations to stop distributing Covid vaccine booster doses in hopes of making more shots available for poorer countries with lagging immunization rates.

“There are countries with less than 2% vaccination coverage, most of them in Africa, who are not even getting their first and second dose,” Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a press briefing. “And starting with boosters, especially giving it to healthy populations, is really not right.”

New Study Finds Mask Mandate Failed to Reduce COVID Deaths, Hospitalizations, or Cases

A study published by the Southern Medical Journal and reviewed by the US Army Institute of Surgical Research found mask mandates did not reduce COVID transmission or severity in the fourth largest county in Texas.

Anew study published in the The Southern Medical Journal (SMJ) found that a county-wide mask order in Bexar County, Texas, did not lead to a reduction in COVID-19 hospitalization rates or deaths.

The study, which was peer reviewed, analyzed data before and after mandates were imposed at both the state level (July 3, 2020) and in Bexar County (July 5, 2020), Texas’s fourth largest county.

“We defined the control period as June 2 to July 2 and the postmask order period as July 8, 2020–August 12, 2020, with a 5-day gap to account for the median incubation period for cases; longer periods of 7 and 10 days were used for hospitalization and ICU admission/death, respectively,” the study authors wrote. “Data were reported on a per-100,000 population basis using respective US Census Bureau–reported populations.”

Authors of the study, which was reviewed by the US Army Institute of Surgical Research, analyzed the daily average number of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, ICU visits, patients on ventilators, and deaths, and concluded the policy did not reduce any of these metrics.

“All of the measured outcomes were higher on average in the postmask period as were covariables included in the adjusted model,” the researchers said. “There was no reduction in per-population daily mortality, hospital bed, ICU bed, or ventilator occupancy of COVID-19-positive patients attributable to the implementation of a mask-wearing mandate.”

1631777446732.png

Science of Masks Uncertain?
The SMJ research results come four months after the CDC published a large-scale study that found there was no statistically significant difference in COVID spread among children in schools where masks were optional compared to schools where masks were required.

That study analyzed roughly 90,000 elementary school students in 169 schools in Georgia in November and December 2020.

Other studies, however, have found masks reduce the spread of COVID-19, including a large-scale analysis from Bangladesh currently in preprint and under peer review at the journal Science.

"We now have evidence from a randomized, controlled trial that mask promotion increases the use of face coverings and prevents the spread of COVID-19," said Stephen Luby, a professor of medicine at Stanford and co-author of the study.
Others, however, contest this conclusion.

“The Bangladesh mask study does not show a statistically significant difference in the efficacy of cloth masks vs surgical masks,” Harvard epidemiologist Martin Kulldorff recently observed. “Based on the confidence intervals, both could be around 0% or both could be around 20%.”

1631777398105.png

A recent New York magazine article said conflicting research on mask mandates, combined with the absence of outbreaks in Europeans schools that do not require children to wear masks, suggests the science on masks "remains uncertain."

Follow the Science?
In light of the unclear efficacy of masks and mask mandates as a mitigation to slow the spread of COVID-19, many would argue it seems both unscientific and unhelpful to compel people to wear masks. (People, of course, are free to wear face coverings if they wish.)

This, perhaps, is why many people are beginning to resist measures that require them to wear face coverings to attend local gatherings and public meetings.

However, fewer may realize that mask mandates fall out of the purview of science even if research concluded they were effective at reducing the spread of COVID-19.

As the economist Ludwig von Mises (1881-1973) once observed, in the modern world science has long been invoked by the state to coerce and dictate the actions of individuals.

“The planners pretend that their plans are scientific and that there cannot be disagreement with regard to them among well-intentioned and decent people,” Mises wrote in his 1947 essay “Planned Chaos.”

Science, however, cannot answer moral questions or provide answers in the realm of subjective value judgments. It cannot tell us what we should do or what we must do.

“[T]here is no such thing as a scientific ought,” Mises wrote, echoing a famous argument by the philosopher David Hume. “Science is competent to establish what is.”

Much of the debate surrounding COVID-19 stems from the fact that public health officials have overstepped the boundaries of science. Instead of making public health recommendations based on scientific evidence, the state has begun to use the power of the law to coerce individuals into actions.

The results have been disastrous—and frightening.

Masks mandates, lockdowns, and other state-enforced “non pharmaceutical interventions” may very well reduce the spread of COVID-19—though an abundance of scientific evidence suggests they do not do so effectively and come with unintended consequences, some of which are dangerous and deadly.

But don’t call these interventions “science.” As Mises rightly understood, there’s no such thing as a scientific ought.

Lawyer Wins Mask Mandate Lawsuit in Two Illinois School Districts

By Jim Hoft
Published September 16, 2021 at 12:40pm

On Wednesday, prolific anti-COVID mitigation attorney Thomas Devore had successfully argued in two separate County courts for two separate school districts that mask mandates constitute a form of quarantine under Illinois law and that mask mandates can only be issued by the local health department.

Devore is methodically taking cases to court to break down the power the schools have taken regarding quarantine rules. The state defines all of these things as a form of quarantine, which by law requires a court order: quarantine (keeping kids out of school for a time), masks, testing for disease, and vaccines.

One of those school districts is the Teutopolis School District in Effingham County, the same school district that confined five students in isolation in separate rooms for several hours for not wearing a mask as a way of protesting the school’s mask mandate. You can read the rest here:

1631825725326.png

Paragraph A in the order states, “While the Children are on school property, the Defendants, are enjoined from requiring any or all of the Children to utilize any type of device, including a mask, for the purposes of allegedly preventing the spread of an infectious disease unless an order of quarantine has issues against any or all of the Children from the local health department as required by the Illinois State Board of Education.”

Edgar County Watchdogs has a report on this:
The Chief Judge of the Fourth Circuit, Judge Douglas L. Jarman, issued a Temporary Restraining Order, for 30 days, this morning against the Teutopolis Unit 50 School District as it pertains to mask mandates.
It was argued successfully by Tom DeVore that a mask is a device intended, allegedly, to limit disease transmission. That being the case, the authority to place such a device on a person is limited to the power give within the laws established for quarantine through the local health departments.
The judge issued the TRO based on the following: the children have rights, masking constitutes quarantine, a mask mandate creates irreparable harm, the Plaintiff would likely succeed on the merits.
The other school district that was given a TRO for 30 days is the Carlyle School District in Clinton County. The entire school district is free from masks and this applies to all students.

Paragraph A on the court order states, “While the Children are on school property, the Defendants, are enjoined from requiring any or all of the Children who attend within the school district to utilize any type of device, including a mask, for the purposes of allegedly preventing the spread of an infectious disease unless an order of quarantine has issues against any or all of the Children from the local health department as required by the Illinois State Board of Education.”

A happy parent was thanking Devore for all his hard work in fighting unconstitutional mandates saying, “Off to school, mask free. Thank you, Thomas DeVore!.” Then Devore reposted the post with a caption, “Seeing pictures like this makes the stress all worth it. Go save the world young man!!!”

Facebook no r/t shown

Devore previously won cases on quarantine, moves on to masks, now is eyeing up testing and vaccines. He’s one of the only people in the state pushing back against Pritzker and winning.

He is running for election for judge of the Illinois 5th District Appellate Court.

DeVore declared candidacy for the 2022 election.

Here is the video where he discussed masks and vaccine mandates:

South Florida landlord requires new tenants and those renewing their leases to be vaccinated

A South Florida landlord is requiring new tenants over the age of 18 or any adult tenants who want to renew a lease in one of the 1,200 units he manages to provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination.

Santiago Alvarez told CNN he has no plan to change his rule despite threats from Gov. Ron DeSantis to fine businesses that require proof of vaccination.

I got a note in my chart today. I had until October 10th to have at least one dose of the vaccine….no explanation of what the consequences would be if I didn’t, but I took it to mean that I am going to loose my Dr. In October. I have a physical scheduled on October 5th so I am preparing for a fight.

Fully Vaccinated Woman’s Family Blames Unvaxxed For Her Death: ‘She Was Infected by Others Who Chose Not to Be Vaccinated – The Cost Was Her Life’

A fully vaccinated 66-year-old grandmother died of Covid earlier this month and her family is blaming unvaccinated Americans for her death.

Candace Ayers, a beloved grandmother from Springfield, Illinois, traveled to Mississippi in July after receiving her second dose of the Moderna vaccine in early March.

“I took my parents to get that second jab, and we were all so excited,” said their son, Marc Ayers. “We are a family that believes in science. We believe in masks, and we believe in vaccines. We were ready to get back to normal.”

After her trip to the south, Ayers tested positive for Covid and was hospitalized for three weeks and put on a ventilator before passing away.

The family blasted unvaccinated Americans in Ayers’ obituary because she traveled to a state with a ‘low vaccination rate.’

“This all could have been avoided,” Ayers said. “This could have been prevented by a few acts of kindness. They were in a state that had one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country. Getting a vaccine and wearing a mask for others … had this been done, she would be here today.”

“She was vaccinated but was infected by others who chose not to be. The cost was her life,” the obituary read.

“She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 43 years, Terry of Springfield; her children Marc (Samantha) Ayers of Springfield, and Amanda Foster and her triplet 5-year-old grandchildren Andie, Daniel, and Charlotte Foster of Springfield who were the loves of her life.”

The CDC has made it abundantly clear that ‘fully vaccinated’ people still spread Covid (and can die from the virus).

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky last month said that people who received the Covid vaccine early on are at an increased risk for severe disease.

“We are seeing concerning evidence of waning vaccine effectiveness over time and against the Delta variant,” Walensky said.

Walensky continued, “Reports from our international colleagues, including Israel, suggest increased risk of SEVERE disease amongst those VACCINATED EARLY.”

New Missouri COVID Whistleblower: HOSPITALS are LYING to the public about COVID… and I CAN PROVE IT

By Ben Wetmore
Published September 16, 2021 at 7:30am

Another COVID whistleblower has come forward as exclusively reported by Gateway Pundit to allege that the statistics about ICU’s being overrun are wildly inflated, over-reported, and in many cases an outright LIE by political officials.

Josh Snider worked in facilities management at Missouri Baptist Medical Center or “MBMC”, “I watched our hospital administrators say in the media that our intensive care units were overflowing with COVID patients, at 98% capacity, knowing that it was a complete and utter lie.”

THIS MISSOURI HOSPITAL NEVER HAD 98% ICU OCCUPANCY, ADMINISTRATORS LIED TO UNCRITICAL MEDIA

Snider relates that the MBMC hospital, part of a larger $5.5 billion annual network within the Barnes Jewish hospital system in St. Louis, Missouri, actually shut down three out of four floors of intensive care during COVID because they were UNUSED.

HOSPITAL SHUT DOWN ICU FLOORS, DRAMATICALLY REDUCING CAPACITY

“And even after shutting down three-fourths of our ICU capacity, they were still never more than 50% full with that drastically reduced overall capacity. These medical systems that are saying they are overrun with COVID patients are likely LYING TO THE PUBLIC,” Snider said.

image2-2-1.jpeg

Empty hospital ICU wing during COVID: no COVID patients to admit!

image1-2-1.jpeg

Snider says that three out of floor ICU floors were closed because there were no COVID patients to put in them. So when hospitals like theirs say they are at 98% of capacity, they are LYING.

image0-2-1.jpeg

COVID whistleblower Josh Snider took photos of 3 of 4 of the MBMC ICU wings SHUT DOWN because there were no COVID patients to admit during the pandemic.

MBMC has refused to comment for this story after repeated requests for comment.

Snider provided documentary proof of the COVID case load of the MBMC system, whose COVID patients do not track national trends, and where the number of COVID patients in ICU were, at many points, a single, solitary person.

“I would have to adjust the airflow in some of the rooms of people in the ICU with COVID, they were fine. I believe in COVID, I know it’s serious, but I also personally saw people who were fine, they had a terminal case of boredom. I spoke with these people and they weren’t sick at all, they felt fine but were told they had to stay there. Many brought their PlayStations with them to waste away the days with video games instead.”

WHISTLEBLOWER TALKED TO PATIENTS IN INTENSIVE CARE WHO WERE FINE, BORED, PLAYING VIDEO GAMES

This matches news today from World Net Daily that many COVID hospitalizations were for mild or non-existent cases.

The case charts published by the MBMC hospital chain also demonstrate that COVID hospitalizations were always very minor. Snider says their ICU COVID capacity was 60 patients.
Snider provided an INSIDER CHART from the hospital that shows VERY DIFFERENT NUMBERS than were being reported to the public and to the government.

Screen-Shot-2021-09-16-at-12.56.06-AM.jpg

This chart was INTERNAL and distributed to employees of MBMC. In it, you can see that the number of COVID patients in critical care was always under 20. The hospital shut down 3 of 4 ICU wings, and in the remaining one had the capacity for 60 beds/patients. They never came close to being at capacity for COVID ICU patients.

These charts, provided by Snider, show that there was a relatively normal track for COVID infections at the MBMC Center, an acute care facility in St. Louis. Even during periods of infection spikes in the national population, those spikes are not found in the hospital data. As well, the bottom line showing serious cases of COVID requiring intensive care remain significantly small and reduced throughout the months of the pandemic.

HERE IS THE CHART RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC, where the LIES CAN BE SEEN
INTERNAL: on August 18, 2021, MBMC said they had 19 COVID patients in ICU.
EXTERNAL: on August 20, 2021, MBMC told the public they had 35.3 COVID patients in ICU.
THE PUBLIC NUMBERS ARE OFF FROM THE INTERNAL REPORTS OF COVID PATIENTS IN THE ICU BY ALMOST 100%

Here is the chart generated from information submitted to the US Department of Health and Human Services, as published by the Gannett News Service:

Screen-Shot-2021-09-16-at-1.05.36-AM.jpg

The overstated COVID ICU statistics are visible here. Not only is this chart misrepresenting reality because it doesn’t account for the three ICU wings that were shut down, but the actual numbers presented are almost 100% off what they were reporting to employees internally.

The government reports this data very poorly on this site as well.

Snider has provided his personal statement, documentary evidence, and clear data discrepancies that all suggest that hospitals are not telling the public the truth about the COVID pandemic.

“The real flu season in the hospital was always more serious than COVID has been,” Snider said. “Flu season in a hospital is very challenging, and even the tamest flu season in years past was still worse than COVID has been so far. The people who have been suffering and sadly dying are clearly people who are hundreds of pounds overweight, and people with multiple other comorbidities like stage 4 cancer. I’m not a Doctor, but the response and panic to this virus is clearly wildly disproportionate to reality.”

CNN's Don Lemon Urges Viewers "It's Time To Start Shaming" Unvaccinated People

THURSDAY, SEP 16, 2021 - 12:47 PM
CNN host Don Lemon during his Wednesday prime time segment urged Americans to start "shaming" and shunning "stupid" unvaccinated people. He told CNN co-host Chris Cuomo that society must leave the unvaccinated "behind" as they are ultimately "harmful to the greater good."

The hugely provocative and controversial statements came during a bizarre conversation that compared taking the Covid-19 vaccine to Botox injections. Lemon suggested that people are fine not knowing what's in Botox injections, so they should be unconcerned with what's in the vaccine and 'trust' the science. He also implied that all of the 'vaccine hesitant' are Trump supporters, and appeared to blame the former president for people currently refusing the vaccine.

View: https://twitter.com/i/status/1438451759245111301
2:45 min

"I think we have to stop coddling people when it comes to… the vaccines, saying 'Oh you can’t shame them. You can’t call them stupid,'" Lemon began the discussion.

"Yes, they are. The people who aided and abetted Trump are stupid because they believed his big lie," Lemon argued. And that's when he gave his audience of millions a viewers a call to action, which will no doubt lead to deeply hostile interactions for anyone actually following Lemon's advice:
"The people who are not getting vaccines who are believing the lies on the internet instead of science, it's time to start shaming them or leave them behind."
The argument echoes some prior pundits who have begun to question whether the unvaccinated should even have emergency medical access, especially given in some states reports of ICU bed shortages.

Recent social media videos have increasingly showed such bizarre "shaming" incidents nearly leading to fights or angry verbal exchanges and even people "stalking" the unmasked or unvaxxed in order to "call them out"...

View: https://twitter.com/i/status/1438362281532968965

"Vax Americana wants to hold the unvaccinated accountable for the public toll of their private choices," one recent Washington Post op-ed said.

In saying "leave them behind" Lemon appears to be also agreeing with those now arguing that the unvaccinated should be refused priority medical treatment at hospitals and clinics across the US, essentially creating a massive group of "second-class citizens" which are segregated against - a trend increasingly on display at "red carpet" events and some public venues.

The Meaning Of The Recent FDA Resignations

Authored by Jeffrey Tucker via The Brownstone Institute,

How significant is it that the two top FDA officials responsible for vaccine research resigned last week and this week signed a letter in The Lancet that strongly warns against vaccine boosters?

This is a remarkable sign that the project of government-managed virus mitigation is in the final stages before falling apart.

The booster has already been promoted by top lockdown advocates Neil Ferguson of Imperial College and Anthony Fauci of NIH, even in the face of rising public incredulity toward their “expert” advice. For these two FDA officials to go on record with grave doubts – and their perspective is certainly backed by the unimpressive booster experience in Israel – introduces a major break in the narrative that the experts in charge deserve our trust and deference.

What’s at stake here? It’s about more than the boosters. It’s about the whole experience of taking away the control of health management from individuals and medical professionals and handing it over to modelers and government officials with coercive power.

From the first week of March 2020, the US embarked on a wild experiment in virus mitigation, deploying a series of measures with a sweep and scope that had never previously been attempted, not in modern times and not even in ancient times. The litany of controls and tactics is long. Many of these measures survive in most parts of the US. The retail landscape is still filled with plexiglass. We are still invited to sanitize ourselves when going indoors. People still mask up in proximity to others. The “Karens” of the world are still actively shaming and denouncing anyone suspected of non-compliance.

The vaccine push has been particularly divisive, with President Biden actively encouraging “anger” at those who don’t get the jab, even as he refuses to acknowledge the existence of infection-induced immunities. In several cities, people who refuse vaccines are being denied active participation in civic life, and a populist movement is rising up that scapegoats the refuseniks as the only reason that the virus continues to be a problem.

All these measures were deployed in waves of controls. It all began with event cancellations and school closures. It continued with travel bans, most of which are still in place. Sanitization and plexiglass were next. Masks were rolled out and then mandated. The principle of forced human separation governed social interactions. Capacity limits indoors were a common feature.

The US example inspired many governments around the world to adopt these NPIs (non-pharmaceutical interventions) and take away the liberties of the people.

At each stage of control, there were new claims that we’ve finally found the answer, the key technique that would finally slow and stop the spread of SARS-CoV-2. Nothing worked, as the virus seemed to follow its own course regardless of all these measures. Indeed there was no observable difference anywhere in the world based on whether and to what extent any of these measures were deployed.

Finally came the pharmaceutical interventions, voluntary at first but gradually mandatory, just as with each previous protocol began as a recommendation until it was mandated.

At no point in these 19 months have we seen a clear admission of failure on the part of government officials. Indeed, it’s mostly been the opposite, as the agencies double down, claiming effectiveness while citing no data or studies, while social media companies backed it all by taking down contrarian posts and brazenly deleting accounts of people who dare cite dissenting science.

The vaccine was the biggest gamble of all simply because the program was so expensive, so personal, and so wildly oversold. Even those of us who opposed every other mandate had hopes that the vaccines would finally end the public panic and provide governments a way to back out of all the other strategies that had failed.

That did not happen.

Most people believed that the vaccine would work like many others before them to block infection and spread. In this, people were merely believing what the head of the CDC said. “Our data from the C.D.C. today suggests that vaccinated people do not carry the virus, don’t get sick,” Rochelle Walinsky told Rachel Maddow. “And that it’s not just in the clinical trials, it’s also in real-world data.”
“You’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations,”President Biden said, reflecting what was the common view in the summer of 2021.
That of course turned out not to be the case. The vaccines appear to have been helpful in mitigating against some severe outcomes but it did not achieve victory over the virus. Israel’s surge in infections in August was among the fully vaccinated. The same happened in the UK and Scotland, and that precise result began to hit the US in September. Indeed, we all have vaccinated friends who caught the virus and were sick for days. Meanwhile, team natural immunity has received a huge boost from a large study in Israel that demonstrated that recovered Covid cases gain far more protection than is conferred by the vaccine.

The fallback position then became the booster. Surely this is the answer! Israel was first to mandate them. Here again, the problems began to show, as yet another magic bullet of disease mitigation failed. Then the inevitable headline came: Israel preparing for possible fourth COVID vaccine dose. So think about this because there is a sense in which the vaccines rank among the biggest failures: in a matter of a few short months, we’ve gone from the claim that they fully protect to they are pretty okay provided you get regularly scheduled boosters forever.

Now to the striking resignation of two top officials at the FDA who were in charge of vaccine safety and administration. It was the Director and Deputy Director of the Office of Vaccines Research, Marion Gruber and Phillip Kause.

They gave no reason for their departure, which is scheduled for October and November.

The case is fascinating because 1) people rarely resign cushy government jobs unless a higher-paying, higher-prestige job in the private sector awaits, or 2) they are being pushed out. It’s rare for anyone in a position like to to resign over a principled matter of science. When I first read that they were going, I figured something else was up.

These days, extremely weird things are going on within the Biden administration. Even though his approval ratings are sinking, the president has to pretend that he has all the answers, that the science behind his mandates and virus war is universally settled, that anyone who disagrees with him is really just a political enemy. He has gone so far as to denounce, demonize, and legally threaten red-state governors who disagree with him.

This is a deep problem for actual scientists working within the bureaucracy because they know for sure that all of this is a pretense and that the government cannot win this war on the virus. They simply cannot preside over more false promises, especially when the whole of their professional training is about assessing the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.

So what can they do? In this case, it appears they had to get away before they dropped a bombshell.

The bombshell is called “Considerations in boosting COVID-19 vaccine immune responses.” It appears in the prestigious British medical journal The Lancet. The two top officials are among the authors. The article recommends against the Covid booster shot that the Biden administration, following Fauci’s advice, is suggesting as the key to making the vaccines work better and finally fulfill their promise.

Fauci and company are pushing boosters because they know what is coming. Essentially we are going the way of Israel: most everyone is vaccinated but the virus itself is not being controlled. More and more among those hospitalized and dying are vaccinated. This same trend is coming to the US. The boosters are a means by which government can save face, or so many believe.

The trouble now is that the top scientists at the FDA disagree. Further, they think that the push for boosters is courting problems. They think the current regime of one or two shots is working as well as one can expect. Nothing is gained on net from a booster, they say. There just isn’t enough evidence to take the risk of another booster, and another and another.

The authors knew this article was appearing. They knew that signing it under the FDA affiliation would lead to a push for their resignations. Life would get very difficult for both of them. They got ahead of the messaging and resigned before it came out. Very smart.

The signed article goes even further to warn of possible downsides. They point out that boosters might seem necessary because “variants expressing new antigens have evolved to the point at which immune responses to the original vaccine antigens no longer protect adequately against currently circulating viruses.” At the same time, there are possible side effects that could discredit all vaccines for a generation or more. “There could be risks,” they write, “if boosters are widely introduced too soon, or too frequently, especially with vaccines that can have immune-mediated side-effects (such as myocarditis, which is more common after the second dose of some mRNA vaccines, or Guillain-Barre syndrome, which has been associated with adenovirus-vectored COVID-19 vaccines.”)

Bringing up such side effects is essentially a taboo topic. That this was written by two top FDA officials is nothing short of remarkable, especially because it comes at a time when the Biden administration is going all in on vaccine mandates. Meanwhile, studies are showing that for teenage boys, the vaccine poses a greater risk to them than Covid itself. “For boys 16-17 without medical comorbidities, the rate of CAE is currently 2.1 to 3.5 times higher than their 120-day COVID-19 hospitalization risk, and 1.5 to 2.5 times higher at times of high weekly COVID-19 hospitalization.”

From the beginning of these lockdowns – along with all the masks, restrictions, bogus health advice from plexiglass to sanitizer to universal vaccine mandates and so on – it was clear that there would someday be hell to pay. They wrecked rights and liberties, crashed economies, traumatized a whole generation of children and other students, ran roughshod over religious freedom, and for what? There is zero evidence that any of this has made any difference. We are surrounded by the carnage they created.

The appearance of The Lancet article by two top FDA vaccine scientists is truly devastating and revealing because it undermines the last plausible tool to save the whole machinery of government disease management that has been deployed at such enormous social, cultural, and economic cost for 19 months. Not in our lifetimes has a policy failed so badly. The intellectual and political implications here are monumental. It means that the real Covid crisis – the task of assigning responsibility for all the collateral damage – has just begun.

In 2006, during the early years of the birth of lockdown ideology, the great epidemiologist Donald Henderson warned that if any of these restrictive measures were deployed for a pandemic, the result would be a “loss of trust in government” and “a manageable epidemic could move toward catastrophe.” Catastrophe is exactly what has happened.

The current regime wants to point the finger toward the noncompliant. That is no longer believable. They cannot delay the inevitable for much longer: responsibility for this catastrophe belongs to those who embarked on this political experiment in the first place.

Leaked Zoom Video Exposes Hospital Officials Discussing COVID-19 Scare Tactics

Authored by Matt McGregor via The Epoch Times,

A leaked Zoom conference reveals a doctor questioning how to increase the count of COVID-19 patient numbers on the hospital’s dashboard report.

The media outlet National File said it obtained the recording from an “internal source” at the Novant Health System that includes New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.

National File posted the video on its Twitter feed on Sept. 10.

View: https://twitter.com/i/status/1436466927703138308
2:11 min

National File and other local media outlets that reported on the leak identified the people in the video as Mary Kathryn Rudyk, a physician at the medical center, who is asking Carolyn Fisher, the hospital’s director of marketing, how to inflate the number of people classified as COVID-19 patients for the purpose of generating fear in the unvaccinated.
“I think we have to be more blunt, we have to be more forceful - we have to say something coming out - if you don’t get vaccinated, you know you are going to die,” Rudyk said in the video.

“Let’s just be really blunt to these people.”
The video begins with Fisher explaining how her department is communicating “meaningful numbers”—the percentage of the unvaccinated, vaccinated, and percentage of deaths in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)—to the public.

Rudyk then asked how post-COVID cases can be included in the number of people hospitalized for COVID-19.
“My feeling at this point in time is that maybe we need to be completely a little bit more scary for the public,” Rudyk said.

“There are many people still hospitalized that we’re considering post-COVID, but we are not counting in those numbers, so how do we include those post-COVID people in the numbers of patients we have in the hospital?”
Fisher asked if she meant every patient who has been in the hospital “since the beginning of COVID?”

Rudyk answered, “Well, that are still in, and that’s something I can take to someone else, but I think those are important numbers: the patients that are still in the hospital, that are off the COVID floor, but still are occupying the hospital for a variety of reasons.”

Also on the Zoom conference call was Shelbourn Stevens, president of New Hanover Regional Medical Center, who said those patients are classified as “recovered.”

“But I do think, from our standpoint, we would still consider them a COVID patient because they’re still healing,” Stevens said.

Rudyk said she thinks those patients need to be “highlighted as well, because once they’re off isolation, they drop from the COVID numbers,” prompting Stevens to say that they can later talk offline about “how we can run that up to marketing.”

Novant Health Response
In response to questions asking for confirmation on if people in the video were employees of New Hanover Regional Medical Center and what the context of the video was, a spokesperson for Novant Health told The Epoch Times that staff involved in the excerpt of the video are seeing the “highest levels of COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths so far in this pandemic, despite having safe and effective vaccines widely available.”
“This was a frank discussion among medical and communications professionals on how we can more accurately convey the severity and seriousness of what’s happening inside of our hospitals and throughout our communities,” the spokesperson said.

“Specifically, the data we have been sharing does not include patients who remain hospitalized for COVID-19 complications even though they are no longer on COVID-19 isolation, so it does not provide a complete picture of the total impact of COVID-19 on our patients and on our hospitals.”
The hospital continues to be concerned with misinformation, the spokesperson said, and that it strives “to be transparent and tell the whole story.”

After more than a year of discussions on whether certain vitamins and minerals help with the prevention and treatment of COVID, the NIH now shows that Vitamin C, Vitamin and D and Zinc work.

The NIH is finally recognizing that certain supplements do help in the treatment of COVID.

NIH-Guidelines-Sept-2021.jpg

A year ago to the day, Rep. Louie Gohmert recovered from COVID by taking HCQ and zinc and the Mainstream Media had nothing to say about it.

Now a year later the NIH is recommending vitamin C, vitamin D and zinc for treatment or prevention of COVID.

Take some vitamins and zinc and get some rest and call me in the morning.

The argument echoes some prior pundits who have begun to question whether the unvaccinated should even have emergency medical access, especially given in some states reports of ICU bed shortages.

Recent social media videos have increasingly showed such bizarre "shaming" incidents nearly leading to fights or angry verbal exchanges and even people "stalking" the unmasked or unvaxxed in order to "call them out"...

Italy makes Covid Vaccine Pass mandatory for all workers

SOURCE

The Italian government has approved a plan to make its Covid ‘Green Pass’ certificate mandatory for all workers. The plan, which would see those without the pass put on leave without pay, is set to begin next month.

The Italian Senate overwhelmingly supported the measure today, with 189 voting for it, with only 32 against and two abstentions. The plan will remain in force until at least the end of this year.

Under the new rules, all public- and private-sector workers in Italy will have to obtain a Covid-19 ‘Green Pass’ certificate. Those failing to produce the cert when requested can be suspended from their jobs after a grace period of five days, though they cannot be fired.

“We are extending the obligation of the green pass to the entire world of work, public and private, and we are doing so for two essential reasons: to make these places safer and to make our vaccination campaign even stronger,” health minister Roberto Speranza told reporters.

Employees without a valid health certificate who still dare to show up for work can be subjected to major fines, ranging from €600 to €1,500 (some $705 to $1,175).

The Virginia Department of Health has launched a new tool that will turn your vaccination card into a QR code for your phone that can be scanned to prove your status at retail stores, restaurants and more.

VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF QR CODES TO VERIFY COVID-19 VACCINATION STATUS – QR CODES ARE SECURE AND PRIVATE FOR USERS, EASY FOR BUSINESSES
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 16, 2021

Virginia Department of Health Announces Launch of QR Codes to Verify COVID-19 Vaccination Status
~ QR codes are secure and private for users, easy for businesses ~

RICHMOND – The Virginia Department of Health today announced the addition of QR codes – a type of barcode that can be scanned with smartphones – to Virginia COVID-19 vaccination records.

QR codes – short for “quick response” – are commonly used in retail, logistics, and other sectors. The technology allows anyone to show proof of vaccination with a digital or printed QR code instead of a paper card, and without the need for an app. As more and more employers and businesses respond to calls by President Biden and Governor Northam to require that employees and customers be vaccinated, QR codes will help improve the consistency and security of vaccination information while protecting individual privacy.

A person vaccinated in Virginia can visit vaccinate.virginia.gov to obtain their free vaccination record with QR code, which can then be saved to a phone gallery, printed on paper, or stored in a compatible account.

QR codes contain the same information as paper records, but in a format that offers greater security and efficiency. Because the QR code is digitally signed by the Virginia Department of Health, it cannot be altered or forged. Information from QR codes is only available if and when the individual chooses to share it. Businesses and employers that choose to verify an individual’s vaccination status can scan QR codes with the free SMART Health Verifier App. Individuals do not need to download an app to use QR codes.

Virginia is now the fifth U.S. state to adopt the SMART Health format for QR codes, empowering individuals with trustworthy and verifiable copies of their vaccination records in digital or paper form using open, interoperable standards. The framework and standards were developed by VCI, a coalition of more than 800 public and private organizations – including The Mayo Clinic, Boston Children’s Hospital, Microsoft, MITRE, and The Commons Project Foundation.

QR codes are available to anyone whose vaccination record includes a working phone number and is in the Virginia Immunization Information System (VIIS). Nearly all doses administered in Virginia are reported to VIIS, including pharmacies, physician offices, health department clinics, federally qualified health centers, and community vaccination centers. Some doses administered outside Virginia to Virginia residents may be in VIIS. Doses administered directly by federal agencies such as the Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs are not reported to VIIS. A person whose record cannot be retrieved automatically may call 877-VAX-IN-VA (877-829-4682, TTY users call 7-1-1) for assistance.

With more than 10.2 million doses of vaccine administered so far in Virginia, more than 58% of the population is fully vaccinated. Everyone 12 or older is eligible to be vaccinated now. To find free vaccines nearby, visit vaccinate.virginia.gov or call 877-VAX-IN-VA (877-829-4682, TTY users call 7-1-1). Assistance is available in English, Spanish, and more than 100 other languages.

Biden Admin Tightens Grip On Allocation Of Antibody Treatments After Surge In Use By Southern States

By Ryan Saavedra
Sep 16, 2021 DailyWire.com

Long Beach, CA - September 13: U.S. US President Joe Biden speaks during a campaign event for California Governor Gavin Newsom at Long Beach City Collage, on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021 in Long Beach, CA.

The Biden administration is tightening its grip on the distribution of coronavirus monoclonal antibody treatments to states after a slew of predominately Republican-led states in the South have started requesting larger amounts of the treatment to battle rising coronavirus cases.

“Federal health officials plan to allocate specific amounts to each state under the new approach, in an effort to more evenly distribute the 150,000 doses that the government makes available each week,” Politico reported. “The approach is likely to cut into shipments to GOP-led states in the Southeast that have made the pricey antibody drug a central part of their pandemic strategy, while simultaneously spurning mask mandates and other restrictions.”

The news comes after Biden, who has launched political attacks against top Republican governors, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, has struggled to contain the pandemic, which was one of the issues that he ran on in 2020.

“Still, until recently, the administration had shipped the antibody treatments to states on an as-needed basis — with top health officials in early August going as far as encouraging those battling the Delta surge to seek even more supply,” the report added. “But demand from a handful of southern states has exploded since then, state and federal officials said, raising concerns they were consuming a disproportionate amount of the national supply. Seven states — Texas, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, Louisiana and Alabama — accounted for 70 percent of all orders in early September.”

The report said that the large uptick in the use of the treatments prompted their decision to take more control over-allocating the treatments to different states.

“HHS will determine the amount of product each state and territory receives on a weekly basis. State and territorial health departments will subsequently identify sites that will receive product and how much,” said a spokesperson from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

“This system will help maintain equitable distribution, both geographically and temporally, across the country — providing states and territories with consistent, fairly distributed supply over the coming weeks.”

The decision has prompted backlash from health officials across the South, including Dr. Aruna Arora, president of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, who said that the treatments were a “lifesaver” for some if used early during treatment.

“We’re calling on the federal government to help us provide more of this treatment, not less, so we can save lives and keep COVID patients out of the hospital,” Arora said.

The administration’s move to restrict the distribution of the treatments has even garnered criticism from Republican governors who are normally friendly toward the administration, including Maryland Governor Larry Hogan.

“Today, I pressed President Biden’s team to explain the sudden rationing of these life-saving treatments, without any warning, after the administration urged us to promote them,” Hogan said in a statement on Tuesday. “It is yet another example of confusing and conflicting guidance coming from the federal government.”

Small agency, big job: Biden tasks OSHA with vaccine mandate
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration doesn’t make many headlines

WASHINGTON -- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration doesn’t make many headlines. Charged with keeping America’s workplaces safe, it usually busies itself with tasks such as setting and enforcing standards for goggles, hardhats and ladders.

But President Joe Biden this month threw the tiny Labor Department agency into the raging national debate over federal COVID-19 vaccine mandates. The president directed OSHA to write a rule requiring employers with at least 100 workers to force employees to get vaccinated or produce weekly test results showing they are virus free.

The assignment is sure to test an understaffed agency that has struggled to defend its authority in court. And the legal challenges to Biden’s vaccine mandate will be unrelenting: Republican governors and others call it an egregious example of government overreach. South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster vowed to fight the mandate “to the gates of hell.’’

“There are going to be some long days and nights for the folks who are drafting this rule,” says labor lawyer Aaron Gelb, a partner in the Chicago office of Conn Maciel Carey. “It’s an interesting time to be an OSHA lawyer for sure."

When Congress created OSHA 50 years ago to police workplace safety, 38 workers were dying on the job every day. Now that figure is closer to 15 — even though the American workforce is has more than doubled in the interim. OSHA writes rules designed to protect workers from dangers such as toxic chemicals, rickety scaffolding and cave-ins at construction sites.

“The hazard in this case is the infectious worker," says epidemiologist David Michaels, OSHA director in the Obama administration. “This rule will tell employers: You have to take steps to make sure potentially infectious workers don’t come into the workplace."

OSHA will use its power under a 1970 law to issue an expedited rule - called an “emergency temporary standard" or ETS -- and bypass its own cumbersome rulemaking process, which typically takes nearly eight years from beginning to end, according to a 2012 study by the Government Accountability Office. To fast-track the rule, OSHA must show that it is acting to protect workers from a “grave danger.’’

The mandate the White House announced this month will cover 80 million employees — nearly two-thirds of the private sector workforce. Employers that don't comply could face penalties of up to $13,600 per violation.

Businesses are anxious to see how OSHA handles questions like: Which vaccines and tests are acceptable and which aren’t? How should employers handle requests from employees who seek exemptions on medical or religious grounds? Who’s going to pay for the testing? Some employers won't be happy if they have to foot the bill for employees who refuse free vaccinations.

Once it's out, the rule would take effect in 29 states where OSHA has jurisdiction, according to a primer by the law firm Fisher Phillips. Other states such as California and North Carolina that have their own federally approved workplace safety agencies would have up to 30 days to adopt equivalent measures. The OSHA rule would last six months, after which it must be replaced by a permanent measure.

"There are going to be legal challenges brought to whatever rule," attorney Gelb said. “OSHA is going to really devote time and effort to drafting a rule that will survive those legal challenges.”

He predicts the rule won't be published in the Federal Register until November.

The agency is already often stretched thin. Even including what OSHA calls its “partners” at state workplace safety agencies, there are only 1,850 inspectors to oversee 130 million workers at 8 million workplaces. “It is not helpful to have a critical agency like this understaffed, particularly because of moments like this,” says Celine McNicholas, director of government affairs at the left-leaning Economic Policy Institute.

Until June, when it issued a COVID-related ETS covering the health care industry, OSHA hadn’t implemented an emergency rule since 1983. Overall, it has issued 10. But courts have overturned four and partially blocked a fifth, according to the Congressional Research Service.

Michaels, now a professor of public health at George Washington University, says the “grave danger” is obvious in a country battling a pandemic that has killed more than 650,000 Americans. “OSHA’s plan very clearly fits those requirements,” he says. “And I’m not worried about a court saying it doesn’t.”

Many employers may welcome the mandate. They wanted to require vaccines but feared alienating their workers who resist being coerced into getting inoculated. “Most employers in my view should greet this with relief," says McNicholas, former special counsel at the National Labor Relations Board. “This gives them a roadmap of exactly what they need to do."

Then again, at a time when companies are posting job openings faster than applicants can fill them, some big employers fear losing vaccine-resistant employees to smaller businesses that aren't covered by the mandate. “It may actually help these smaller businesses who are struggling to attract employees," says Nicholas Hulse, a Fisher Phillips labor lawyer based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Hulse says the mandate is “going to be difficult to enforce.” OSHA, he says, likely will rely less on its own inspectors uncovering violations and more on complaints from insiders — workers who grow “frustrated either with the employer for not implementing it or with fellow employees who are not following the mandate."

Former OSHA chief Michaels calls Biden's mandate "a very good first step. But we need more." He wants to see the rules expanded to smaller employers. “Until we stop this, losing hundreds of people every day to this disease, we’ll never get back to any sort of normalcy," he says.

More than 175 million Americans are fully vaccinated. But 80 million of those eligible for inoculation haven't yet received their first shot, the White House says.

The Biden administration is also requiring vaccinations for federal workers and contractors and for 17 million healthcare workers. Those initiatives plus the vaccination or testing mandate for big employers should add 12 million to the ranks of the vaccinated by March 2022, Goldman Sachs estimates.

"Most employers will voluntarily meet the standards because that’s what they do with all OSHA rules," Michaels says. “Large employers in particular, they have (human resources) teams, they have attorneys who tell them: ‘This is what the law says and this is what we have to do' ... I think most employers are going to do the right thing here, and we’ll see very high levels of compliance pretty quickly.”

Delta variant is so contagious it ‘raises the bar’ for Covid vaccines, Moderna president says

The fast-spreading delta variant is so contagious, it’s exposed weaknesses in vaccine protection and changed the outlook for ending the pandemic, Moderna President Stephen Hoge said late Wednesday.

Delta is “just so good at infecting people and replicating that it raises the bar on how good vaccines have to be,” he said in a phone interview. “It’s actually shown some of the weaknesses that [vaccines] have earlier than you might expect.”

VIDEO 03:28
Moderna vaccine protection wanes after about one year

Moderna on Wednesday shared a new analysis from its phase three study that showed the incidence of breakthrough Covid cases, which occur in fully vaccinated people, was less frequent in a group of trial participants who were recently inoculated, suggesting the Covid vaccine’s protection wanes over time.

There were 88 identified breakthrough cases out of 11,431 people vaccinated between December and March, the company said in a press release, compared with 162 breakthrough cases out of 14,746 trial participants vaccinated in July through October 2020.

The breakthrough cases are not all delta’s fault, Hoge said. He said he suspects the Covid cases in vaccinated people are a result of both vaccine protection waning over time and the highly transmissible variant.

“The delta variant is not an immune escape variant,” he said, adding the variant is simply “weakening our defenses” at a time when vaccine protection is declining.

“It’s what has probably led to the phase three results that we’re seeing right now. It’s led to the difference in the real-world efficacy that’s been reported between the vaccines this summer,” he said.

Hoge said the drugmaker’s latest results, which haven’t been peer-reviewed yet, builds its case for the wide use of Covid booster shots.

“It’s the reason to get ahead of the problem and boost,” he said.

His comments come prior to a Food and Drug Administration vaccine advisory committee meeting Friday, when a group of outside experts will discuss whether there is enough data to support widely distributing booster shots across the U.S.

The group, called the agency’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee, will debate administering third doses of Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine, as federal health regulators say they need more time to review Moderna’s application for extra doses.

How the meeting goes could have consequences for Moderna’s booster shot plans going forward.
The scientific community is currently split on the need for booster shots for the general public.

The Biden administration has said it wants to begin offering booster shots to the general public as early as next week, pending authorization from the FDA. The move is part of President Joe Biden’s broader plan to confront a higher number of Covid cases fueled by the fast-spreading delta variant.

FNC’s Dr. Makary: ‘Rosetta Stone’ of Wuhan COVID Data Was Removed from NIH-Run Archive, Removals Are ‘Very Unusual’

IAN HANCHETT15 Sep 2021285

Video on website 2:04 min

On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” Fox News Medical Contributor and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Professor Dr. Marty Makary said the removal of genetic data on COVID-19 from Wuhan from an archive run by the National Institutes of Health at the request of a Chinese researcher was the deletion of “essentially the Rosetta Stone” that enables the tracing of the drift and manipulation of genetic code and stated it is “very unusual” for genetic information data in the database to be deleted.

Makary said, “Those sequences are essentially the Rosetta Stone that enable virologists to trace the drift or manipulation of a genetic code.”

He also stated, “It’s very unusual for any data of genetic information in that database to be deleted.”

Some Companies and Business Groups Are Pushing Back Against Biden’s Vaccine Mandate

by Ailan Evans

Employers and business organizations are voicing their opposition to the vaccine mandate announced last week by President Joe Biden.

Biden ordered the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to requite companies with more than 100 employees to make sure their workers are either vaccinated against COVID-19 or tested weekly for the virus. The mandates received a mixed reaction from companies and business groups, with some welcoming the new rules and others expressing their opposition.

“I think it’s bullshit,” Jay Baker, president of Jamestown Plastics in Brocton, New York, told Reuters. “I’m not a fan of the federal government mandating anything.”

“This is not the bubonic plague,” Baker said. “This is not typhoid — and they seem to be treating it like it is.”

Under the proposed rule, businesses with under 100 employees are not required to verify their workers’ vaccination status or institute weekly testing. Some employers subject to the mandate worry the new rules could force employees opposed to the vaccine to leave for smaller companies, exacerbating already-dire labor shortages.

“If we lose people due to vaccination requirements, we will be unable to provide our essential services, and many of these services are critical for rural Alaska,” Jim Jansen, chairman of shipping company Lynden, told Anchorage Daily News. “We are struggling with enough labor to do our jobs now and can’t withstand any people resigning over this.”

“We at Lynden will oppose this aggressively, taking legal action if necessary,” Jansen said.

Others say they’ll be unable to verify their employees’ vaccination status, as well as keep up with weekly testing. Mehtab Bhogal, co-chief executive of online florist Forever Floral, told USA Today he expects to lose up to 30% of his workforce.

“It feels like [the government] is kind of making employers do their dirty work so they avoid liability,” Bhogal said. “It will eat up time and time is money.”

“I would prefer the government stays out of it and does not throw around $14,000 penalties on businesses struggling to get through post pandemic,” Jack Schron, president of tool manufacturing company Jergens, told The Wall Street Journal. “We will support the individual with what they want to do with their body.”

Jim Worthington, owner of Newton Athletic Club in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, told Reuters that while he was in favor of employees getting vaccinated, he opposed the mandate.

“It would really depend on what they do if we don’t comply,” Worthington said. “Are they shutting us down? A financial penalty? A slap on the wrist?”

Employer organizations came out in opposition to the new rules as well, arguing the mandates put undue burdens on employers.

“Additional mandates, enforcement, and penalties will further threaten the fragile small business recovery,” Kevin Kuhlman, vice president of federal government relations at the National Federation of Independent Business, told The Washington Post.

Business groups say the decision on whether to mandate vaccinations is best left to employers, who can adjust their COVID-19 protocols around their specific needs.

“Whether it is the federal government or the Ohio legislature, one-size-fits-all government mandates limiting employer rights are not the right approach,” Ohio Chamber of Commerce president and chief executive officer Steve Stivers told Cleveland.com. “The Ohio Chamber will always stand up for the rights of employers to manage what is best for their own business, employees and customers.”

Rick Murray, chairman of the government affairs committee at the Arizona Small Business Association, told The Washington Post he expected defiance from the organization’s members, saying the mandate was” as far reaching as government can get.”

The rule has yet to be officially finalized, and it’s unclear what, if any, exemptions will be allowed, but is estimated to affect over 80 million workers and thousands of employers.

Pat Tiberi, president and chief executive of Ohio Business Roundtable, told Cleveland.com the mandates were “yet another example of government overreach.”

“While our members firmly believe the COVID-19 vaccines are both safe and effective, we also believe employers should have the autonomy to decide what is best for the health and safety of both their customers and employees,” Tiberi said.

The vaccine mandates will almost certainly be contested in court, with several governors and state attorneys general coming out in opposition immediately following the rule’s announcement. Arizona became the first state to sue over the mandates Tuesday.

Israeli Researchers Can Confirm Only 12 Days of Protection From COVID-19 Virus with Booster Shot

Israeli researchers have only been able to demonstrate that the COVID-19 booster shot provides a proven 12 days of protection from the virus after being administered to people aged 60 or above.

1631858168355.png

However, the vaxx pushers and their captive propagandists in the media are spinning these findings as proof of vaccine efficacy.

The Jerusalem Post is reporting that the third Pfizer vaccine provides a ten-times boost of the immunity within individuals against individuals who have received only two vaccine shots. These findings, of course, presume that there was any real immunity boost given from the vaccines to begin with.

Thus far, nearly three million Israelis have received the third booster shot. Israel has emerged as the world leader in vaccine compliance, and their COVID-19 case totals keep shattering records as more Israelis line up to comply.

The authors claim that the study makes it “evident that booster vaccination is very effective at reducing the rate of both confirmed infection and severe illness.” Perhaps they came to these dubious conclusions after making considerations about preserving their budgets and maintaining their prestigious jobs.

Big League Politics has reported about how cases are surging in countries that have boasted the most compliance with the vaccine:

Many countries listed as a high travel risk by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have enforced vaccine compliance the best according to data from the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) School of Medicine.

The nations of Malta, the United Arab Emirates, Seychelles, Uruguay, Chile, Bahrain, Mongolia, Israel and Ireland are on the CDC’s list of Level 4 countries for COVID-19 risk. This is despite all of these countries vaccinating well over 50 percent of their population, with countries listed reaching as high as 78.8 percent compliance.

The data compiled by JHU omits Gibraltar, which also appears as a Level 4 country by the CDC. Gibraltar has boasted 99 percent rates of vaccine compliance, the highest of any country in the world, which has corresponded with a recent case spike and a renewal of crippling lockdown policies.

The CDC advises Americans to “avoid travel to these destinations,” adding that “if you must travel to these destinations, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel.” Of course, there is no guarantee that a fully-vaccinated traveler would be protected any more than the individuals in those countries where vaccination levels are high but cases continue to spike.

As the vaccines fail to contain the spread of the virus, pharmaceutical corporations that have already cashed out mightily due to the crisis get ready for their next fear-induced pay day
.”

Despite the Big Pharma-owned public health establishment’s spin to the contrary, the vaccine is failing on all the metrics that the public was sold upon. The public must resist because this is only the beginning of a cruel technocracy that will feature unending invasive and nonsensical mandates.

OSHA likely to struggle to enforce Biden vaccine mandate

by David Hogberg, Healthcare Reporter |
| September 16, 2021 06:03 AM

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration is likely to face difficulty enforcing President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate and may have to rely on publicly shaming companies, a tactic popularized during the Obama era.

Biden called on OSHA last week to develop an Emergency Temporary Standard that would require employees at companies with 100 or more workers to be vaccinated or be tested once a week. Employers could face fines up to $14,000 per violation.

Are hospitalizations a bad COVID metric?

OSHA likely to struggle to enforce Biden vaccine mandate. 2:15 min

“The mandate affects somewhere between 80 million and 100 million workers, and just because of the large numbers of employers, that would make enforcement a bit tricky,” said Ian Carleton Schaefer, chairman of New York employment and labor law at the law firm Loeb and Loeb.

OSHA traditionally relies on complaints filed by employees in determining which companies to inspect. However, OHSA usually will not investigate until multiple complaints are filed.

“One big challenge for enforcing OSHA mandates is the fact that OSHA as an agency is historically very underfunded and very understaffed,” said Jennifer Shinall, a professor of law at Vanderbilt University.

Shinall also noted that employees can only file complaints under OSHA. They cannot file lawsuits against employers for violating OSHA rules, as they can under many other federal laws.

Another method of enforcement would entail a registry in which companies would have to report the number of employees vaccinated and tested regularly. OSHA could then target the companies that did not comply or were slow to comply. But no such registry exists at the federal level, and setting one up could entail many difficulties.

"It would be pretty burdensome for the government to set up that kind of registry, and then we'll get into all kinds of privacy concerns on the part of employees,” Schaeffer said. “So that's a very big question mark that's still out there.”

Shinall said OSHA could lean on state and local health departments in order to create such a registry, but that would likely be met with resistance.

“To the extent that states are opposed to these mandates, then that's going to be very difficult to do,” Shinall said.

Perhaps OSHA’s best option is “public shaming.” During the Obama administration, OSHA pursued a strategy of using press releases to shame companies that incurred the highest levels of OSHA fines, usually $40,000 or more.

“Since this mandate is a highly symbolic action by the federal government, I think the most promising mechanism through which this mandate will work … is through public attention or public shaming,” Shinall said.

A study by Matthew Johnson, a labor economist at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy, found that a single OSHA press release about one company would improve compliance from similar companies. Johnson estimated that OHSA would need to conduct over 200 inspections to achieve the same result as it did with a single press release.

OSHA enforcement of the vaccine mandate depends on the ETS being upheld by federal courts. OSHA has not yet issued the ETS, and its timeline for doing so is not known.

“The bottom line is that OSHA's record with regard to Emergency Temporary Standards that are challenged in court is not a good one,” said Baruch Fellner, an active retired partner with the law firm Gibson, Dunn, and Crutcher. “It is a very, very high bar with respect to promulgating an emergency temporary standard. And that's probably the principal difficulty that OSHA has.”

OSHA issued eight ETSs between 1971 and 1983, according to the Government Accountability Office. Federal courts invalidated or stayed five of those orders. Because of the legal difficulties involved with an ETS, OSHA did not issue another one until June of this year, when it issued COVID-19 safety regulations for healthcare providers.

Republican Govs. Kristi Noem of South Dakota, Ron DeSantis of Florida, and Brian Kemp of Georgia have already threatened to challenge the vaccine mandate in court.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 16, 2021

Oregon Senators File Formal Grand Jury Petition Calling for Investigation into CDC’s Willful Misconduct to Hyperinflate COVID-19 Data Following Federal Law Violations

The formal request for a Grand Jury Investigation was brought forth on behalf of more than 62,200 Americans who signed a public petition gathered by Stand for Health Freedom.

Breaking—Oregon State Senators Kim Thatcher and Dennis Linthicum jointly filed a formal petition for a federal grand jury investigation into both the CDC and FDA on August 16th in the city of Medford, Oregon, Jackson County. The official letter included eight exhibits and 20 references for evidentiary materials showing a clear need to formally investigate the agencies for willful misconduct.

In March 2020, according to a paper published in the journal Science, Public Health Policy, and The Law, the CDC abruptly changed how death certificates were recorded for only one type of death—COVID-19—and circumvented multiple federal laws to do so. This hyperinflation of death certificate reporting kicked off an avalanche of data degradation and destructive public health policies.

Now, two Oregon Senators have broken their silence in an exclusive briefing about their letter and the petition calling for a thorough investigation. The project has been a months-in-the-making combined effort between scientific, legal and public policy experts.

The letter, submitted exactly one month prior to public release to protect those involved, was addressed to the Honorable Scott E. Asphaug, U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon, which stated:
“What we have learned is worthy of independent State and/or Special Federal Grand Jury Investigation from our vantage point as elected state policy makers. Pursuant to 18 U.S. Code § 3332 – Powers and Duties and the case law cited within the Formal Grand Jury Petition, we respectfully request that the petition and preliminary supportive documentation be presented to the members of the grand jury we are petitioning for immediate deliberation. Public trust in elected officials, the Oregon Health Authority, and our ability to lead the resilient people of Oregon through this crisis has been eroded to an all-time low. The peoples’ trust in their ability to participate in their own governance and be heard by their elected officials is perhaps the most essential element for a thriving free and healthy society. As elected officials it is our sworn duty to uphold the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of Oregon, the tenets of Informed Consent, and honor our legal obligation to comply with 18 U.S. Code § 4 – Misprision of felony. We are fulfilling our duty by calling for a Special Federal Grand Jury Investigation, or at the very least an independent state district-led grand jury investigation convened by a judge, into the issues and evidentiary materials presented.”

During this press briefing, Leah Wilson, J.D., Executive Director and Co-Founder of Stand for Health Freedom, which hosted the national public signature gathering, asked revealing questions that should have been asked long ago by mainstream media networks that vacated their duty to impartially investigate and objectively inform the public. To date more than 62,200 signatures have been gathered, including thousands across Oregon where the two senators reside.

Also included on the briefing panel was Dr. Henry Ealy, the lead researcher from a team who authored the peer reviewed papers titled “COVID-19 Data Collection, Comorbidity & Federal Law: A Historical Retrospective” and “COVID-19: Restoring Public Trust During A Global Health Crisis.” His work verified significant findings of federal law violations by the CDC and acts of willful misconduct by the FDA that were thoroughly vetted through nine attorneys and one judge as well as stringent peer-review prior to being released publicly. The papers are also in use across several active court cases, including one filed at the federal level against HHS and the CDC.

In February 2021, Stand for Health Freedom launched a public petition to gather signatures to ask US Attorneys to convene a Grand Jury investigation into the CDC and FDA responses toward COVID-19 following astounding revelations concerning federal law violations and data inaccuracy. We are 20 months after “two weeks to flatten the curve.” Americans deserve to know the integrity of the data relied upon by agencies pushing national health policy and reshaping the fabric of American life. The CDC and FDA are issuing guidance asserted with the authority of federal law that is influencing officials at all levels of government to mandate something created by an industry that holds no liability for risk in selling its experimental and novel vaccine products. Americans are being told that these products are the only viable pathway back to a free and open society.

Senators Thatcher and Linthicum call upon Americans to pursue the federal grand jury process in their respective states to demand greater accountability.

Video at link
Stand for Health Freedom released this pre-recorded press briefing as an exclusive interview to avoid the same drastic censorship faced following a cyber attack during a national online event covering this topic earlier this year.
Included in this Press Briefing:
  • How the CDC violated federal laws to unlawfully change death certificate recording beginning March of 2020 for COVID-19
  • Why the public should be highly concerned about the CDC’s clear willful misconduct of COVID data corruption
  • Why accuracy, integrity and transparency are so important, especially during a public health crisis
  • How the CDC set the stage for widespread collateral damage—physical, psychological and economic
  • Why this formal petition filing for a Grand Jury Investigation should be filed by others across all states
Official Statements:

“Federal agencies like the CDC have committed atrocities in the name of ‘public health,’ resulting in extensive collateral damage that transformed society in ways that we are still grappling to understand. The CDC’s unlawful and questionable changes to death certificates related to COVID, the use of false-positive PCR tests and their callous indifference to individual rights—or science, for that matter—led to fraudulent data that was used to justify sweeping policy changes, not only in Oregon, but across the country. I refuse to stand by and watch as our constitutional rights and liberties are endangered by oppressive agencies, which is why I have chosen to take part in this effort to bring forth a petition for a grand jury investigation. Equal protection under the Constitution is still the right of every American.”
— Kim Thatcher – Oregon State Senator

“Plain and simple: the CDC acted illegally in March of 2020, which has led to these current ‘medical’ mandates stemming from the original lynchpin of corrupted data for COVID death certificates. Our health and the health of our children is our responsibility, not the government’s, yet the CDC, through pure data manipulation, has promulgated government overreach through incredulous policies in unimaginable ways through this wrongful slight-of-hand, creating a falsified reality that has no place in a free society.”
— Dennis Linthicum – Oregon State Senator

“Our COVID Research Team has dedicated more than 20,000 hours into investigating all aspects of COVID-19 and feel that it is imperative to produce high-integrity research to empower elected officials, attorneys, professional organizations, independent media and the public to take action on behalf of good people throughout the world. Why am I doing this? I ask myself this question often, and then I think about Simone Scott, the 19-year old Northwestern student who died horrifically after receiving experimental inoculations. I think about Hayden Hunstable, the 12-year old who took his own life during the despair of being isolated from friends during ineffective lockdowns. And I think about how the CDC has violated multiple federal laws in order to hyperinflate COVID deaths and promote rampant acts of willful misconduct. What’s happened since 2-weeks to flatten the curve is wrong and while we can’t bring back the departed, we can make sure they are remembered as the inspirations for us making things right.”
— Dr. Henry L. Ealy – Researcher, Founder of the Energetic Health Institute

“Grand jury petitions are a way for any elected officials or individual to help drive forward an investigation into the widespread willful misconduct surrounding the response to COVID-19. The work that Oregon Senators Dennis Linthicum and Kim Thatcher have done provides a viable template for others to use in their own state to say ‘we have had enough’ and demand real answers, with real discovery, to end the harmful policies destroying the U.S.”
— Leah Wilson, J.D. – Executive Director and Co-Founder, Stand for Health Freedom

FAKE NEWS NY Times Gets Caught: Claims of 70% Increase in “Deworming Drug” Ivermectin Poisonings Was Actually a 2% Increase

By Jim Hoft

More fake news by The Paper of Record.

The New York Times published an article on August 25th titled,
“Demand Surges for Deworming Drug for Covid, Despite Scant Evidence It Works”

The entire premise of the article was false. It makes you wonder who was paying for it?

As TGP reported earlier this week India has had exceptional success in treating and preventing COVID-19 with Ivermectin.
Ivermectin is an award-winning drug that only recently got labeled a horse dewormer by Big Pharma and Big Government.

And in the article, The New York Times claimed that a Mississippi poison control center reported a 70% rise in recent Ivermectin poisonings.

This was completely false. The poison control center reported a 2% rise in Ivermectin poisonings. The entire article was a lie.
