Looking Back

Deceased
Today is my brother's birthday. He is exactly 30 months older than me.

He is also my last remaining family. The last several days, I've been thinking alot about him and me and the special bond we have so I wrote this poem and sent it off to him.

Now I know he aint the mushiest gusher on the planet, but I'm sure if I were a mouse at his house, I would see a dampening of an eye or two with him.
He's a good guy.

Looking Back

As I sit here today, my mind in a wander,
I think of the years and then kinda ponder.

Where did they go? All those years we have seen?
And I go back and go back and conjure a dream.

A childhood of Dad, of Mother and Brother,
Those good times and bad times,
And oh yeah, the other.

Those other you say, I say yep with a sigh,
neither good neither bad, just times going by.

Having a brother like you through the years,
There were laughs and some giggles,
And oh yeah, some tears.

It's hard to remember the years that's gone by,
That you had your own life, but hey so did I.

Did we talk every day or even each week?
Man, months would go by when we wouldn't speak.

But through all this time, one year after other,
I never forgot you my friend, my own............
My big Brother.

Today is your birthday, probably thought I forgot.
But these words that I write here will show that I sought.

So Bro a surprise here and I think you should know,
I will never forget, I'm your own 'lil' Bro.
Tim

Maybe we have some more people here that are close to a brother or sister but not necessarily in each other's pocket. Think of them.
