Location of in-line fuel filters

On another forum a fellow said he installed in-line fuel filters between each gas tank and the tank selector switch on his Chevy 4x4 pickup.

He has to get under his truck to change those filters. That could be awkward in mud, snow etc.

All my in-line fuel filters are in the engine compartment.

--a long piece of 3/8" ID neoprene gas line with two inline fuel filters in series between the forward end of steel fuel line from tanks, and the input side of mechanical fuel pump. This hose is secured well clear ofthe fan.

--a piece of neoprene line with one in-line fuel filter between output side of fuel pump and the carb - with one inline fuel filter in the line. This hose is secured well clear of the exhaust manifold.

NOTE In GMC/Chevy Quadrajet, there is a tiny filter inside the carb where the fuel line attaches. Discard it where you install in-line fuel filters.

On my 1976 GMC V8-350 there is a hole threaded 3/8x16 in the front of engine block near mechanical fuel pump. I screw a 3/8x16 bolt in that hole to hold the fuel pump push rod in place to change fuel pumps. I remove that bolt before starting the engine

Have you checked your generator in-line fuel filter lately?
Maybe you can't find it? Then that is because it didn't have one to begin with. (Fallout from generator repair - still shaking my head.)
:shk:
