I am taking iron plus C 2 times a day and eating the good green vegetables. Its still only 10.5 after 1 month. I'm getting discouraged, its hard to do anything with no energy. Is there a herb that helps blood?

Nettles is high in iron. If you are still not able to get a good iron count chances are you are low in Vitamin B-12. Just find a good strong B-Complex and that should bring you iron up. I think it is called Pernacious Anemia. The studies have found the lack of vitamin B.

Do not rely on Ferros Sulfate. Find a natural Iron supplement. A natural iron formula will contain Vitamin C, Calcium and Ferros Gluconate.

Chlorella is fantastic for increasing energy... provides a great deal of nutitive's needed for strong blood. It also helps detox heavy metals. It is inexpensive and really worth a try. 2 caps in the morning, two caps after lunch.

I am assumng that you are a vegetarian. If not, fastest way to boost the ol iron and liver is a couple of pints of chicken livers! B Vitamins are critical to good iron absorption, that is correct as well, but you still have to get the iron.

Do a search on Hemachromatosis. I think I spelt that right. Iron is something that can be very tricky, from what I have read. Sometimes it might look like you have not enough iron, but your body can actually be storing iron, and you have TOO MUCH. When your blood tests do not show it. This type of situation can be lethal, from what I have read on it. I do know that too much iron is very bad.

When I was young and pregnant for the first time, I was low income and got referred to WIC(Womens, infants and childrens). I was told that the easiest way to build it up and keep it up was to use a cast iron skillet to cook in every day. I've been pregnant again since then but have never had any problems with iron levels! Sometimes its just a simple thing that makes a difference. Kathy

Rock,
I was anemic as a child and around 4 years ago after a routine blood test, the doctor prescribed hemocyte plus for anemia. However, I got diabetes almost 2 years ago and started eating better and my blood tests in the past year have not showed anemia so I don't take them anymore.

Thanks everyone, I have done alot that has been suggested and I'm trying all the others I haven't tried yet. I just bought some chlorella and started that. I want to get to a good level and stay there. Its taking along time but I'll get there.
