What does 'Google chrome is not your default browser' mean? Then it gives me a place to click on to set it as such...I seem to have sticky fingers here in this house of whom cannot follow the simple instruction to LEAVE THE COMPUTER AS IS AND DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING!!!!
I have no tool bars, nothing, no bing search box, no anything at the top of my screen. The only thing I have is this thread and a space at the top with the TB addy in it...

HOW DO I GET BACK TO MY REGULAR SCREEN? Yeah, I'm yelling but not at yall...sorry...and TIA....I have to go clean my mom and dad's house so I'll be back in a bit to check in..

Do you have a FireFox link/button? That may be where your reg screen is. I'm trying to get used to my new laptop and found a lot of things work differently.

Not certain what you are saying... Do you WANT Google Chrome as your default browser? The message you are getting indicates that some other browser IS the default browser (the regular browser you normally use or that has been set by the sticky fingers,) and you can CHOOSE Google Chrome. If you DON'T want Chrome, then just close the window. Your "regular" browser should be there.

To get your tool bars back, right click on any open space on the shaded area where the addy is, and you should see a drop-down offering different choices, such as Menu Bar, Navigation Bar, etc. Hope this helps. Will you come clean MY house? :D

If you don't get a helpful answer here, you might want to post your question on the Tech Help board.

I take it Chrome is your normal browser? If so, then that message means that someone has recently used a different browser, and when they opened it up, it asked them if they wanted this different browser to be the default one. They might have accidentally clicked yes, or maybe on purpose, but now the other browser is the defalut.

When you see that message pop up in Chrome, just select YES, to revert the change.

For the 'full screen problem', as others said, try the F11 key, which is usually the full screen toggle.

If you're feeling engergetic, and would like to prevent changes to the default browser setting in the future, here's what you can do.

Find out what other browsers you have installed. Certainly you have IE, but maybe also Firefox.

For Firefox: EDIT -> Preferences -> 'Advanced Button' at the top -> General tab -> At the bottom of the list you should see something that says, "Always check to see if Firefox is the default......."

Just UNcheck that and save/exit out of Preferences.

For IE: I don't have access to it right at the moment, but it's going to be in preferences somewhere; maybe someone else can tell you exactly where.

Do not change the setting in Chrome, since you want that to be the default, and want to be notified if it changes somehow.
