I just cured myself of something *evil*

Yesterday, I started feeling dizzy. Then, the room started spinning worse than when I drank a pint of Barcardi 151 by myself a few decades ago. I was so weak that it took me nearly ten minutes to muster the energy to stagger 20 feet from my couch to my bed. I fell on my butt because the spins were so bad, and had to hang onto the furniture, walls and doorjambs to make it that short distance. I got nausea shortly thereafter and ralphed up my stomach contents. It was so bad that I was debating whether or not to call 911. I do not recall any pathogen ever hitting me so hard at the first onset of symptoms.

Once I stablized a little, I forced myself to get up and take my first dose of herbal stuff. I took a small glass of water and added a healthy squirt of Northwest Wintertime Support and pau d'arco tinctures, and used it to wash down a 10,000 IU vitamin A softgel.

The Northwest Wintertime Support tincture is great stuff. It contains elderberry, western red cedar, graperoot, lemon & peppermint oils and grapefruit seed oil. It is from Oregon's Wild Harvest, one of the foremost organic herbal extract producers in America. I highly recommend it.

Pau d'arco (aka taheebo) is an extract from the inner bark of the pau d'arco tree of South America. It has strong antiviral properties. I always take it when I get a virus.

Vitamin A is essentially fuel for your immune system. If your immune system is activated by an infection, it will start consuming vitamin A quickly, so taking this when you are sick is vital.

Anyways, I took that mixture twice yesterday to knock down the infection to the point where I could take the real cure. This morning, I mixed a tablespoon full of cayenne pepper into a glass of warm water and chugged it down. Because my stomach was so messed up, a little of it came back up right away, but I kept most of it down. Within an hour I was feeling much better. Within two hours, I was able to go out and vote and pay the rent (a day late, due to this vile infection). The cayenne treatment works every time. I was able to eat normally by this afternoon, and am rapidly getting my strength back. I am still walking a little sideways, as my inner ear still seems a little messed up, but that is getting better as well.

I am not sure whether I got food poisoning (tried a new sub place; had a philly steak; it sucked) or influenza. I stopped by the local hospital to ask, and they gave me a nurse's hotline number to call (they said they could not give out any advice or diagnosis of any kind unless I checked in). I will find out tomorrow what the symptoms indicate. If that sub place gave me food poisoning, they will be hearing from the local health department.

It wouldn't hurt to report your symptoms and where you ate to the health department "just in case".

They aren't exactly like food poisoning- no fever, diarrhea, etc, but you may have nipped it in the bud with your herbal remedies.

If nothing else, at least the health department will have a heads up if others begin reporting problems...

ps: everytime my son sees the Subway ads with "Jared" and all the weight he lost, he says "yeah, if he gets food poisoning as bad as I did from them, no wonder he got thin!" LOL!

I am fine (thanks for asking). After the cayenne, the *evil* was gone and I quickly recovered. I am back to normal today. I just scarfed down a platefull of French toast and bacon.

Ought Six, I have had the very symptoms you describe. It is a very dramatic event. I thought maybe I was having a stroke or a heart attack. The spinning was so hard and fast I couldn't see anything but blur. I crawled to the bathroom with throwing up and diahrea. The dizziness, even though it subsided, stayed with me for days after, even though I could walk and was no longer suffering the dramatic symptoms. I was diagnosed with "benign positional vertigo." I have had several episodes in past few years--some much worse than others. I was given medication for nausea and for motion sickness. Now, I have to be careful of doing anything that can make me start getting dizzy. I can't walk across a swinging bridge or do many different things that involve a sense of unbalance or spinning. The doctor said, "you will feel like you're dying" (and I did) "but you're not."

Oh, meant to add, thanks for the cayenne pepper tip! This is just the household variety I take it, right?

I made a trip to the ER earlier this year with Food Poisoning. DH and I ate a big lunch at a Vegetarian Indian restarant and I ate 2 helpings of this yummy mango dessert (kind of like pudding, but more firm). He didn't eat any.

A couple hours later, I was getting a stomach ache. It got progressively worse and worse. About 4 hours after lunch I had such intense gut pain that we were really getting worried. It felt like my gut was full of broken glass. All sharp pain all throughout the gut. No vomiting (yet). We called a friend who is an RN and she said that food poisoning is supposed to be extremely painful, and that I could have that. We didn't know what to do, so went to the ER for pain relief if nothing else.

While waiting to be seen, (about an hour or so) I did barf in the waiting room. I wasn't alone. There were about 4 or 5 other members of the barf club, and the ER staff had said that they had seen several folks for food poisoning that same night. We hadn't gone to the same restarant, either.

I never did feel dizzy, or weak. Just extreme gut pain, then vomiting. I was treated and felt much better after a pain shot and an IV.

You have my sympathy if that's

what you had.

Yes. You can buy it in bulk at most larger health food stores and some discount grocery outlets. That is far cheaper than those little overpriced jars. Just make sure the cayenne is reasonalby fresh, not something that has been sitting in your spice cupboard for the last decade.

06!!

Wanted to thankyou and your sister for the cayene pepper tea recipe. You had mentioned it in a previous thread, about the same time our seasons were beginning to change, and I caught infected bronchitis. Rather than visit a doctor, waste of money, and end up with another dangerous useless prescription, I drank your tea. It was soothing, and I was better overnight, and healthy three days later. Not months later, poisoned from antibiotics that shift sickness from one organ to another.

A few days later, I made some red pepper tea for another girl, who was living on inhalers, choking with asthma with mucus secretions. She threw everything up, and has had clear passages and breathing ever since!!!

The pepper works..........

how about dried pepper from the garden, hanging on a string
would that work chopped up, or would it need to be in powder form?

Sorry, I just came back to this thread and noticed your post. I am glad it helped. It sure works for me!

It really needs to be powdered cayenne pepper. If you grow & dry your own cayenne peppers, you can powder them in a mortar & pestle, or in a food processor. I use a coffee bean grinder that I keep specifically for spices to grind them, so that should work as well. I just get it from the store because it is easy & cheap.

"and where might that tea recipe be?"
It is in the first post on this thread. Just take a heaping tablespoon full of cayenne, stir it into a glass of hot water, and chug it straight down. That is all there is to it.

Could you please PLEASE find time to write out more of these reasons and recipes on this thread. I remember you saying your sister is a herbologist or naturopath. Between the two of you you could save alot of us time and health. Would certainly appretiate the links...........

I give up.
My son and I tried the cayenne mixed in with chocolate milk and slammed it down. Stays down that way. I know, it sounds nasty, but wasn't as bad as water.

06 - Thanks for the reminder, I went and re-ordered more industrial-strength cayenne powder and tincture.

When we drink cayenne we put it in hot water with a bit of butter and honey to make a very powerful tea.

The cayenne tincture includes habaneros pepper juice. :shkr: DH said just today he's grateful for the temporary impact the tincture has on his hearing because that way he can't hear himself scream when he takes it. (Just joking!)

I've also read that cayenne tea is excellent for the heart.

Until later...

Thanks for the tip! I am going to make myself gulp some now. I came down with a flu 3 days ago, and need to get rid of some serious mucus. I am scared!! lol
Sounds just awful, but if it works a little temporary yuckyness is worth it.

Oughtsix,

Thanks for the valuble information. We just got whacked with a 24-36 hour flu bug that takes you down hard and fast, but you bounce back as quickly as you go down.

This place is great. I've been lurking too much on the main board and passed by a treasure trove of information.

Thanks again.

One of the easiest and most pleasant ways for me to take cayenne pepper, and I also like to add fresh garlic, is mixed in with hot tomato soup. Works for me! ;)

Yeah! Wish I would have read that idea before! I drank it in hot water, and it was hard to get it down too! Ick! Hot! Hot!

It sure did clear a few things for me though, even my ear canals were quite warm! Got out the Q-Tips, and I was sure it helped clear the wax out of my ears. Wow! The flu hung on though, and I couldn't bring myself to drink it again. It may have helped to prevent my usual sore throat from developing though, as it didn't occur.

I remember when I was a kid, I liked St. Josephs Baby Asprin. So much so, one day I kept eating them like candy, until yup the whole bottle was gone. My mother called the family doc, and told her to give me mustard in hot water, and make me keep drinking it until I vomited. (home made ica???)

Kinda reminds me of that!

06, RE: your symptoms...

I was watching an episode on animal planet, and this man had the very same symptoms you mentioned, as well as dehydration.

It turns out that he was having an allergic reaction and going into anaphylactic shock due to being bitten by kissing bugs during the nights while sleeping.

Gives me the chills just thinking about it. ACK
