"It is allegedly always darkest before the dawn.

Here’s some darkness: the symphony orchestra of Austin, Texas has fired their lead trombonist. This is a white lady named Brenda Sansig Salas, 51 years old and a U.S. Army veteran. Austin Symphony Trombonist Fired Over Racist Comments, The Violin Channel, June 1, 2020 She'd been posting comments on social media. The comment that precipitated her firing was apparently this one:

The BLACKS are looting and destroying their environment. They deserve what they get.

Symphony orchestra spokes-critter Anthony Corroa [Email him]announced the firing of Ms. Salas in the dreary schoolmarmish jargon of corporate wokeness: This language is not reflective of who we are as an organization." And "there is no place for hate within our organization."
So if you can work that trombone to orchestral standard, there's a vacancy in Austin. And our Cultural Revolution rumbles on.

That, of course, is the point. The goal here is totalitarian thought control. Only one set of opinions will be permitted in the public sphere. Every opinion not approved by the Thought Police will be a species of hate.
It will not be who we are.

But now the dawn: I have an announcement to make.

I have a dream today, brothers and sisters. I have a dream.

My dream is of an America that has embraced race realism.

Yes, I have a dream that one day race differences in educational success will be as calmly, dispassionately accepted as race differences in athletic success; that race differences in criminal arrest and incarceration rates will be regarded with no more anger or alarm than sex differences in those same rates; that different social outcomes by race will be understood as caused not by the malice of our fellow citizens, but by ordinary processes of nature.

I have a dream that one day we shall discard magical thinking about race; that the notion of an invisible vapor or miasma called "racism" permeating the atmosphere and intoxicating our minds will seem as quaintly absurd as the Four Humors Theory of ancient medicine or the Luminiferous Æther of 19th-century physics.

I have a dream that one day, poor white children will not have to endure being lectured about their "privilege" by rich black adults.

I have a dream that one day soon, after sixty years of futile efforts to change what cannot, in the nature of things, be changed, sixty years of twisting our constitution and our jurisprudence into knots to pretend that different statistics by race can only be caused by white people's ill will, sixty years of vast public expenditures on educational and social programs that deliver no benefits at all (other than to those who pocket the expenditures); that one day soon, after sixty years of futility and waste, we shall accept race differences as calmly and as prudently as we accept the laws of thermodynamics.

I have a dream that with the black homicide rate at eight times the white rate, and with discrepancies of a similar size having existed since reliable records began a hundred and eighty years ago, an organization calling itself Black Lives Matter will address itself to bringing black homicide numbers down to the white level—better yet, to the Asian level—or else be laughed out of the public square.

I have a dream that race differences in outcomes, which are mere statistical abstractions remote from our everyday dealings, will one day matter as little to us as personal differences in outcomes. I shall never be a skilled violinist, a good tennis player, or a creative mathematician; not because of malice, "racism," or "privilege" on the part of my fellow citizens, but because of my own abilities and inclinations—which, like almost everyone else's, are middling and un-spectacular. I do not lose sleep over this. I absolutely do not take it as an occasion to insult and berate my fellow-citizens, or deprive them of their rights.

I have a dream that our nation's past will one day be cherished for having made possible our present security and prosperity; that the ignorance and misdeeds of that past be kept in sight on a shelf, accessible to all, but never dominating our view of what our ancestors were, the heroism they displayed in defense of our civilization, and the great good things they did.
I have a dream that one day freedom of association, which picks no man's pocket and breaks no man's leg, will be restored to us.

I have a dream that the evil and divisive doctrines of "disparate impact" and "affirmative action" will be scrubbed from our jurisprudence; that hiring into civil-service work—including police work and firefighting—will be strictly meritocratic; and that young black Americans will no longer, just to satisfy the whims of smug college admissions officers and innumerate jurists, will no longer be pushed into academic college programs they can't cope with and will drop out from.

Methinks Chittum isn't very away from Derbyshire, saving in that Chittum definitely doesn't think it will get fixed short of by prolonged total war, mass death, starvation, expulsions, and changes in borders. Derb (who's usually VERY realistic about racial issues)? I suspect he's just pointing out the other side of things finally getting, not at all ruling out lots of blood, destruction, and pain to get there.

The recent events clearly show what is going to happen to Whites when they lose their majority status.

How this is all going to play out is a guess at this point.

Still, one can't help but wonder what brought us from a 1950s era of change for equality (George Wallace comes to mind) to a 21st century of compulsion to one human (or one group's) self centered "equality."

Methinks there is a case for lawsuit here: her social media post was not made in reference to her employment, was not offered under her employer's time or communication device, and is an opinion associated with her alone. As long as it does not affect the playing of her instrument or get in the way of a performance, who in the audience would know or care. No doubt at all her performance of her art transcends her personal opinions, whatever they may be.

As it is always with ALL performers.

Maybe I'll draw a line around that statement: except for protest songs. Which are generated not as entertainment but rather as statement - and advertising. They tap into a different market. Not humans looking for release, but rather humans looking for bondage to shared ideals.

I don't think the Austin Symphony is looking to protest ANYTHING. It would appear they look to signal their "virtues."

They should better think out virtues to align themselves to. Intolerance should not be one of them.

If content of character claimed by King within a White society is the definer of equality then Blacks are SOL........because the content of African character is incompatible to that. Not necessarily wrong but just different in such a way that it is incompatible.

My Mother, who was a real estate agent at that time, found out how the game was played.

Prime residential streets were targeted. Top dollar offers were made until the first White family accepted.
Then at was just a matter of time.

Instantly, entire streets sprouted "For Sale" signs and the local prices collapsed. This loss only accelerated the movement of Whites out of these "integrated" neighborhoods. A few real estate agents made a lot of money wheeling and dealing, selling to Black families who obtained prime houses for pennies on the dollar.

Entire streets would switch hands, from White to Black, in a matter of months.
These were immaculately maintained houses with front lawns that resembled putting greens.

Decay wasn't apparent at first because the transferred houses were in tip-top shape.
The first sign of something wrong were the lawns; they were no longer kept up.

Fast forward to a couple of decades. The houses were now in terrible shape from lack of maintenance.
Entire sections of towns were, once again, completely segregated.

Now a new minority emerged; hundreds of Mexicans started to buy the severely run-down houses from the Blacks.
The prices were depressed enough that they could buy and repair these houses. "Flipping" became a popular, and profitable sport. There was a never-ending stream of new "emirates" needing a space to stay.

Houses, designed, zoned, and built as "single-family" were now housing for many different families.
Just go these streets in the evening, and you will see the front lawns transformed into parking lots.

Mexicans possessed several advantages over the Blacks.

First, the Mexicans are family-oriented with the fathers actually living with their families.
Many Black families were supported by state welfare programs. The Mexicans, who were mostly highly illegal,
mostly went into the construction trades and food service jobs for rock bottom wages. They undercut everyone else.

With money flowing back to Mexico, the "pioneer" first waves brought the rest of their families to the town.
Blacks simply couldn't replenish their numbers by new waves of emigrates from Africa.

Now the town is mostly Mexican. Nearly all the businesses are Mexican-owned. The storefront names and signage is in Spanish.

The old core of the town, once-bustling, is one vacant building after another. Even all the signs have been removed.

It used to be a house is the best investment you could own "the America dream"............but that presumed there would always be a demand and by those with enough money to keep the market value of the house up.

I don't see how that can continue in the changing demographic and fading of the middle class into oblivion.

Then the driver complained about the high costs and low availability of everything - and especially fuel - and the general state of affairs in the then newly-minted state of Zimbabwe. During the ride, I noticed crowds of unemployed Africans milling around on the streets.

On another trip to Zimbabwe, I was warned by a White resident not to fly Air Zimbabwe. He said the maintenance schedules weren't being followed on the aircraft. It was a bit late for the warning, as I was already holding my ticket! Fortunately, my flight back to Johannesburg was uneventful. I will note that today - decades later - Air Zimbabwe has been reduced to flying a single Boeing. Quite a national airline, eh?

The future is easy enough to predict, merely by watching demographics.

That is a significant insight from your experience a 1st hand confirmation to the reality that races face as a nation what they can and can't do............to notice this is not accepted anymore in society..........but ignoring it will be at our own peril.

I’ve kinda accepted that my pretty blue eyes are on the way out. Kinda frigging sad. It is insane that the empathy of my race is not more noted. The moments of empathy that my “race” has shown,that transcended race are innumerable.
What’s even worse if that empathy hadn’t been part of what we are....
