of LED lights.

Friend of mine works at the local ACE. Showed me one that has four LEDs and a butane lighter. Heavy little sucker and bright enough even my crappy eyes can use it. :)

bout as big around as a 'C' cell flashlight. Bout as long as a average cell phone and has a pocket clip-tho I'd prfer a way to hoook it to my vest.

Got it for $1.99 on sale.

Can't wait to find the next dark, creepy boarded up house to explore. ;)

Hey do you mean ACE hardware?

This looks like a $40 dollar LED light. The picture shows what looks like those new super LEDs that have multi-ganged LEDs, in each little Led and maybe an heatsink.
COOL..

I paid $20 for a 2-D Cell one that has 3 leds for a spread-out
beam and one led in the center for a focused beam. However,
it really isn't that powerful. Its ok as a general-purpose light,
but its no search-light.
What I did find also at wally-world was an led key-chain light.
That little dude is surprisingly bright for its size. Great for
when you need a light quickly for something up-close.

Nice-looking light, Sat! :)
I agree with Chronicles....that looks expensive and powerful
for $1.99. Maybe they priced it wrong. Either way, you got a
heck of a deal!

Very cool little light there Sat. I'm going to check at our ACE to see if they have any. I've not yet gone into the LED light world yet either but need to. I also want to get some of the shake flashlights.

The light BV141 bought looks like a Gattling light. I suppose if the barrel rotated, you could keep the LEDs cooler, get more light from each, and have an interesting conversation piece.

Having used LEDs in the past, I am very surprised at the increases in power out from these little diodes over the years. Good engineering, I guess.

Does anyone make LED headlights or fog lamps for vehichles? Is it legal?

The headlights on my car, even when new, tend to be so dull and dim that I can barely see the lines at night. Sometimes I wonder why I bother to turn them on at all... That and they like to burn out every couple of years.

Surely there must be a good LED alternative.

Costco has a nice one,Coast LED Lenser about the size of a C batt and about 4" long. I have carried a Mini Mag for years. I would not change to LED because they would not light at a distance like the Mini Mag. I now carry the Coast it is a far better light than the Mag. I don't remember what it cost, but it is worth every penny and then some.

Several companies are working on them.

The question with headlights is, are the lenses "fogging" over? If you have a car with plastic (lexan (polycarbonate)) lenses, the lenses will probably "fog" over after a few years of use. They coat both the inside and outside surfaces with a UV inhibitor, but over time the outside one wears off due to road crud being flung at it at 70 MPH. The road crud also puts small scratches in the plastic. I have a (*$(@#$)@ Dodge (Websters: Dodge=to avoid) Caravan with this problem, and my father has a Honda Civic with it as well. I have found two solutions to the problem:

1. Use clear nail polish to put on a new coating on the outside of the lens. It works best if it is a warm day and you have a 4-6 inch rubber squeege (sp) to smooth it over once applied. I have also heard certain silicone based car waxes work, but have not tried them.

2. Use ultra fine jewelers rouge. Which is nothing but a VERY fine rubbing compound. Using very little pressure and a damp clean cloth, rub the lens with the rouge on it. This seems to make a better repair optically, but leaves no protection for the next round of "road rash".

Sorry for the thread drift...
