We've used both of these recipes with really good results...

½ c. nonfat dry milk

Pre heat oven to 300 degrees. Warm chicken broth to lukewarm. Meanwhile, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add chicken broth. “Liver Treats For Dogs”

“Liver Treats For Dogs” (quick and easy…little ucky handling the raw liver tho)
There are lots of recipes here: (not a recipe follower person, myself. . . tend to just do my own thing)
http://www.doggieconnection.com/recipe/liver_treats_for_dogs.html

1 pound beef liver
2 garlic cloves
1 Box corn muffin mix

Preheat oven to temperature in corn muffin directions.
Mix liver and garlic in a blender or food processor, then process till liquid.
Stir in muffin mix, then scrape onto a baking sheet and pat to app. 1/2-1" thickness.
Bake till very firm, but not burned.
Cut into squares, then store in refrigerator or freezer.

I used Pork Liver (2.6# @ 89¢ = $2.75) Added more garlic The consistency is thicker than cake mix 400° 15min

Earlier this month, made up 3 large cookie sheets of the treats, using beef liver (5#.38 of beef liver @$1.39=$8.36)
3 boxes of Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix ($1. For 3 )
3 eggs
3 heaping tsp. minced garlic

These treats have been “tried and tested” by 7 dogs and been given the “seal of aproval”. LOL
