Take 2 quarts canning jars. Fill 2/3 full of raspberries (Any fruit you like). Cover to top of canning jar with vodka. cover with top, screw lids on lightly. Set in dark place, back of cupboard will do. Let sit for 6 weeks or more. Can shake up 1 time a week or so if small berries are used.

Once it has set for at least 6 weeks, empty contents into a fine wire mesh. Can line with cheese cloth. Then squeeze the berries until no more juice will come out. Do this with the second jar.

In a small sauce pan take 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar and heat, stirring until all sugar is melted. If you have a lot of juice, can be 2 cups each of water and sugar. Also I have added 2 cups sugar and 1 cup water to make a more concentrated sugar syrup.

Add sugar syrup to raspberry vodka, mix. Then add a little around 2 teaspoons to 1 tablespoon of raspberry extract to the sugar vodka mix.

Pour into a decorative bottle or back into clean canning jars. Drink as is, or add to crystal light, or other drink.

I like pomegranate when in season. score the pomegranate skin then under water, a pan or sink full of water and pull off skin. Separate the arils and let sink to bottom of pan. skim of skin and white pith. Then do the same recipe as above but I do not add any extract to the vodka sugar mix.

plums, mangos, peach, pineapple, mixed frozen berries, blueberry, strawberry, blackberries all make a good liquor. Apples do not taste very good to me. This recipe can be used to make lemoncello, Lots of finely cut up lemon peel, or orange peel, with lemon or orange extract can be made. I have not tried this.

I made some today using mangos I bought from Sams club. I will add mango extract when done and drink with mango crystal light. I hope some of you try this recipe as it is very good.

Is this the same as the "Raspberry cordial" that Anne (of Green Gables) got her friend drunk with?
