money? whats that?
It's a lot like driving on 'sugar sand' but worse...

Being a Florida boy when I was sent to West Germany I found snow very interesting. I truly learned to respect it when we had an exercise where we were supposed to be getting ready because the Russians had just crossed the border. (Another BS alert.) As I was heading up the hill towards our motor pool I heard someone holler,

"LOOK OUT!!!"

I looked up the hill and saw a M-60 tank, sliding down the hill with both tracks locked and the thing was starting to spin donuts on the ice. I stood there and watched as it passed me, went through an intersection at the road below our motor pool, then cross the road and continue its downhill slide. The last I saw of that thing was the muzzle of the main gun slowly disappearing behind the slope below the road, as it continued to go downhill. THAT'S when I decided that snow is for postcards.

Edit to add: The M-60 weighs about 50 or 60 tons. AND THAT thing is sliding on the ice!!!! Show some respect Cracker, show some respect.

did a lot of that in tracks, they put stupid rubber pads on them so they dont damage the streets, well on snow or ice, might as well be on skates, was at Ft Knox. had less than a inch of snow, they closed down the base,

Ayup,

If your track pads are worn out, it helps.

Had to get a 5ton with chains on to get my track up the hill out of the track park once.

I spent 4 years at Fort Joke, La. One winter we got just over a 1/2 inch of snow and they shut the base down, too. Lol, also spent a couple of months at Fort Erwin, Cal. And while I was there, the worst blizzard in 75 years blew through. Me and a bunch of my friends tossed our jackets aside; rolled up our sleeves and had one of the best snowball fights I've ever been in.

I was in with a lot of winners at FT knox. some complained we had to wear shoes every day. not lyin a bit,a guy from New York was convinced we still had Indians in T pees living in nebraska, he was used to riding the subway everywhere so wasnt hard to make him think we still rode around on trains with steam engines.

we were in the field when it snowed, that 1/2 inch. and shut down the base.I bet half had never seen snow in there life, they knew what it was, just had never touched it . they brought us out food by helocopter ,
